Good Luck Charlie Renewed for Season 4!

Well, this is kinda surprising in a way and yet at the same time I'm not surprised at all. After those outstanding ratings the new baby special brought in of course Disney would want to continue to see what else this show can do.

Good Luck Charlie Baby Names

The official Disney press release follows.
DISNEY CHANNEL ORDERS A FOURTH SEASON OF HIT COMEDY SERIES "GOOD LUCK CHARLIE" A fourth season has been ordered for Disney Channel's "Good Luck Charlie," a hugely popular family sitcom that recently delivered the #1 cable telecast of the week (8.9 million, L+7 data) and the #1 telecast of the entire second quarter 2012 among Kids 6-11 (4 million, L+7 data) and Tweens (3.7 million, L+7 data). "The success of 'Good Luck Charlie' is a testament to the strong comedic writing of the inventive creative team and characters so artfully brought to life by the talented cast. Every kid wants to be part of the Duncan family, and we look forward to telling more stories that engage and entertain viewers in a fresh and relevant way," said Bonnett. Disney Channel July 2012 Highlights

So for whatever reason, Disney's not giving us individual episode descriptions anymore; just a list of dates and titles. Well, I guess we'll take what we can get. :)

It looks like a good mix of shows this month. Good Luck Charlie is pushing the new baby angle with some success, we're getting a couple new Jessie episodes, and My Babysitter's a Vampire is back... I love that show!

Get ready for “Code: 9”

So, later this month Disney is premiering a new hidden camera reality series. Because they did such a great job with Prankstars (seriously, did anyone watch that other than to see Selena and Debby in the first episode?) I'm sure this will make quite a splash. Anyway, Disney's oficial press release is as follows...
KIDS AND FAMILIES PULL THE ULTIMATE PRANK IN "CODE: 9," A NEW HIDDEN CAMERA REALITY SERIES PREMIERING THURSDAY, JULY 26 ON DISNEY CHANNEL A hidden camera, a sense of humor and the help of Hollywood's top special effects artists are all kids and their families need to pull the ultimate good-natured prank on their unsuspecting mom or dad in "Code: 9," a new hidden camera reality series that's comedy for the whole family, premiering THURSDAY, JULY 26 (8:00 - 8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. Hosted by Wes Dening ("The Stafford Brothers"), the unscripted comedy series pairs kids with a parent to help create, plan and cast the entire prank. In every episode, one family member goes deep undercover with special prosthetic make-up and costumes and goes face-to-face with their unsuspecting parent as one of the actors who helps pull off the big surprise. The signal "code 9", indicates the start of the prank when the target is walking in and everyone needs to be in their places and ready. In the premiere episode, the Tribble family wants to prank dad who they think loves golf and his clubs a little too much. With the help of "Code: 9" host, Wes, and a Hollywood special effects and design team, mom and the kids plan it out then sit back and watch as dad takes the heat for a golf cart mishap that involves his clubs. "Code: 9" is executive-produced by Mark Herwick ("Launch My Line," "Kitchen Nightmares"), Douglas Ross ("Big Brother"), Gregory Stewart, Kathleen French and Alex Baskin and was created and directed by Herwick. The reality series is a production of Evolution Media ("The Real Housewives of Orange County"). It carries a TV-G parental guideline.

Good Luck Charlie – It’s a Boy!

Well... the people have spoken (LOL, like it wasn't rigged [/opion not fact]) and the new baby is Toby Wan Kenobi Duncan.

Toby Wan Kenobi Duncan

Okay. I guess I don't need to watch the episode now. xD But seriously, I heard it was good and that Bridgit sang a new song at the end. That girl needs a record deal, stat. Anyway, what follows is Disney's official press release:
THE DUNCANS WELCOME A BOUNCING BABY BOY, RESULTS REVEALED FROM OVER 25 MILLION VIEWERS' VOTES TO DETERMINE HIS NAME...TOBY! IN TONIGHT'S SPECIAL DELIVERY EPISODE OF "GOOD LUCK CHARLIE" In tonight's milestone episode of "Good Luck Charlie" (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET/PT), the hit comedy for kids and families, the Duncan family welcomed a baby boy -- and results were revealed from a viewer poll that determined the baby's name - 'Toby Duncan.' The parents decide upon a middle name, one inspired by popular culture, in the episode's tongue-in-cheek epilogue. The month-long "name the baby" poll at DisneyChannel.com tallied over 25 million votes around the world. In a particularly competitive race, the name 'Toby' received the majority of the viewer votes, edging out Noah, Jonah, Bobby Jr., Bo, Sydney, Erika, Mallory, Talia and Jenny. In the weeks leading up to tonight's episode, Disney Channel presented several behind the scenes interstitials that built the anticipation for Baby Duncan's arrival. Adam Bonnett, senior vice president, original programming, Disney Channel, said, "The strength of 'Good Luck Charlie' lies with the talented team behind the scenes in writing and producing, and certainly the towering performances by our entire cast - together they perfectly capture the funny, tender and relatable family dynamic that viewers love watching and sharing in each week." The episode is available on WATCH Disney Channel, and the first game featuring Toby Duncan and his big sister, "Teddy's Dream Dash," will debut Monday, June 25 on DisneyChannel.com. The series has increased in ratings for its third season - "Good Luck Charlie" accounted for three of the Top 4 scripted telecasts in Total Viewers across all basic cable (averaging 4.6 million) and TV's Top 3 telecasts among Kids 2-11 (averaging 2.5 million), Kids 6-11 (averaging 2 million) and Tweens (averaging 1.8 million) for May 2012. For 2011, "Good Luck Charlie" was TV's #2 series among Kids 6-11 and Tweens, and the Disney Channel Original Movie, "Good Luck Charlie: It's Christmas" was cable TV's #1 live-action movie of the year in Total Viewers (8.3 million) and the #2 scripted telecast across all TV in Kids 6-11 (4.0 million/16.1 rating). "Good Luck Charlie" stars Bridgit Mendler, Jason Dolley, Leigh-Allyn Baker, Bradley Steven Perry, Mia Talerico and Eric Allan Kramer. Raven Goodwin, Shane Harper, Micah Williams and Patricia Belcher recur in season three. The series was created by Phil Baker and Drew Vaupen and is executive-produced by Baker, Vaupen and Dan Staley. It is a production of It's a Laugh Productions, Inc.

Save Lilo & Stitch Week 2012

@

Aloha everyone! Save Lilo & Stitch Week 2012 marks one of our most important events to date here at Save Lilo & Stitch. Save Lilo & Stitch Week, held every year between June 21-27, is always our most important event of the year. Historically this has always been an important period in the timeline of the Lilo & Stitch franchise. June 21 is the anniversary of the original Lilo & Stitch Movie's debut in theatres. June 27 the final remaining episode (yes #65) of Lilo & Stitch the Series aired on Disney Channel. And June 27 marks the day Leroy and Stitch was released on DVD. So Save Lilo & Stitch Week celebrates the beginning, the "end" and all the good stuff in between! And don't forget about our other significant "unofficial" days within this time period:
  • Unofficial "Angel" Day - June 24 (Exp. 624)
  • Unofficial "Reuben" Day - June 25 (Exp. 625)
  • Unofficial "Stitch" Day - June 26 (Exp. 626)
So what makes this year even more important? This year we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of our ohana! That's right, 10 years ago Lilo & Stitch the Movie debuted in theatres! Of course while it is business as usual, and we will continue to email, snail mail, phone and fax Disney, this is also a celebration. We are celebrating an important milestone for the Lilo & Stitch franchise. So we want everyone to have a little bit of fun too. Here is a run down of our special fun events that will be held during Save Lilo & Stitch Week 2012:
  • Date: June 21, 2012
    • Lilo & Stitch Movie Day: Celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Lilo & Stitch the Movie by watching the movie that started it all! Relive the moment 10 years ago maybe many of you felt when you fell in love with this ohana for the first time! Time, money, lack of response and copyrights worked against us for getting a big Save Lilo & Stitch sponsored movie re-premier. But our goal is to get as many people as possible to watch this movie on 6/21! The DVD should still be on sale online at places like Amazon and eBay. Also Amazon has there Amazon Instant Video feature. Highly recommended. You can rent the video and watch it online for only $1.99! The movie may be elsewhere online on YouTube or other file sharing sites. But we do NOT promote it. Be safe. Watch for scams and viruses. We do NOT recommend clicking on the links that take you outside of YouTube.
  • Date: June 24, 2012
    • Angel or Devil in Disguise: Are you an angel, or devil in disguise? Little of both? Well show us! Dress up in your best Angel (exp. 624 or the heavenly one) outfit, Stitch outfit, Elvis outfit, or anything related to Lilo & Stitch or even Hawaii! Take a pic of yourself and send it to contact@saveliloandstitch.org. No rules. Have fun. Just keep it clean. And be warned, we'll post your pic all over our site and Facebook. ;-) If we get enough submissions maybe we'll have a contest. Please let us know your name, nickname, Shout Out id etc. The official day is June 24 in honor of experiment 624 "Angel". But we'll accept submissions throughout the entire Save Lilo & Stitch Week: June 21-27.
  • Date: June 25, 2012
    • Reuben Day: This is simple. Everyone must eat a Reuben for lunch or dinner this day. It's not my favorite either. But do it for experiment 625! If you absolutely can't stand it, then any sandwich will do. ;-)
  • Date: June 26, 2012
    • Stitch Spirit Day: Show your pride for your ohana during our unofficial Stitch Day (6/26)! Have a Lilo & Stitch shirt? Wear it! Know where your favorite Stitch plush doll is? Take it with you everywhere you go. You can even just wear blue for Stitch! Be creative! Create a sign, poster or whatever to show you haven't forgotten about your ohana. Post ideas/pics here, through the Ohana Shout Out, or email us at contact@saveliloandstitch.org. And we will feature you throughout the site and Facebook! :-)
  • Dates: June 21-27, 2012
    • Lilo & Stitch Coloring Contest: Are you the best colorer? Are you the best drawer? Then prove it! Throughout Save Lilo & Stitch Week 2012 we will be accepting submissions to contact@saveliloandstitch.orgof your best Lilo & Stitch related drawings. These submissions need to be either PDF or image files (.JPG/.PNG). We are accepting three different types of submissions:1) Personal Drawings: Start with a blank piece of paper. Get out the crayons, markers, and let your creativity do the rest! Find a way to scan and send it to us. We are not accepting submissions via snail mail.2) Online Templates: You still have to get out the crayons and markers. But those of you (like myself) who aren't very artistic, can download and print a template like from the following site:http://www.coloring-book.info/coloring/coloring_page.php?id=37And same thing, find a way to scan and send it to us.3) Digital Art: Ok, fine, for those of you that don't know how to use a crayon or marker ;-) can send us your fancy Photoshop creations as well. Only one submission, per person, per category. Let us know your name, nickname, Shout Out id etc. Submissions must be in .PDF, .JPG, .PNG. Attachments in .DOC, .ZIP or other formats will be rejected. We will then work on getting all submissions on the site. And through July, August, and maybe September, you will be able to vote for your favorite drawing!
Thank you everyone for your continued support of our ohana, and Save Lilo & Stitch! - Wayne (Dmb1981): Save Lilo & Stitch Team Leader and Webmaster

Let It Shine got big ratings

The new DCOM Let It Shine did pretty good last friday drawing 5.7 million viewers. That puts it on par with Lemonade Mouth for example, but still well below the likes of Phineas and Ferb the Movie and Camp Rock 2. Still, especially considering what I expected from the film, a 5.7 was quite respectible. Disney's official puff piece press release follows:
DISNEY CHANNEL ORIGINAL MOVIE "LET IT SHINE" DIVINES 5.7 MILLION VIEWERS, BECOMES #1 TV MOVIE OF THE YEAR ACROSS TARGET KIDS 2-11, KIDS 6-11 AND TWEENS 5.7 million Total Viewers gave 'cred' to Friday's premiere of the kid-driven, family inclusive "Let It Shine" (8:00 p.m.), which also now ranks as the year's #1 TV movie across all core kid demographics with its strong delivery of 3.0 million Kids 2-11, 2.6 million Kids 6-11, 2.3 million Tweens, plus 1.2 million Adults 18-49. "Let It Shine," a re-imagining of the classic Cyrano de Bergerac story (an 1837 play written entirely in verse) set in the contemporary world of hip-hop, rap and gospel music, is another achievement for the powerful Disney Channel Original Movie franchise which has delivered basic cable TV's #1 movie in Total Viewers for the past five consecutive years (2006-11) and the #1 movie telecast among Tweens for 10 consecutive years (2002 -11). Encore telecasts of "Let It Shine" are scheduled for Saturday, June 16 (11:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.) and Sunday, June 17 (6:05 p.m.). During last night's telecast, viewers were invited to download the WATCH Disney Channel app, an innovative new app available at watchdisneychannel.com to get the lyrical jump on the "Let It Shine - Rap Battle Edition" airing Saturday, June 30 (7:30 p.m.). The WATCH Disney Channel app is available for free from the App Store on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore. The movie stars: Tyler James Williams, Coco Jones, Trevor Jackson, Brandon Mychal Smith, Courtney B. Vance, Dawnn Lewis, Nicole Sullivan and Alex Desert. It was directed by two-time DGA Award winner Paul Hoen and includes an A-list of songwriters and music producers on the soundtrack which is climbing the digital music and Radio Disney charts. The teleplay was written by Eric Daniel and Don D. Scott and choreographed by Danny Teeson and Brandon Shaw. Its lead-in was a 'Name that Baby' episode of the hit series "Good Luck Charlie" (7:30 p.m.), which delivered 3.6 million Total Viewers. The series' story arc has the Duncans preparing for the imminent arrival of a baby brother or sister (scheduled for Sunday, June 24). Viewers cast 25 million votes for the baby's name at www.DisneyChannel.com and results will be revealed June 24. Immediately following "Let It Shine" (9:55 p.m.), Disney Channel programmers scheduled the special preview of Disney Television Animation's comedy series "Gravity Falls," which delivered 3.4 million Total Viewers and 2.0 million Kids 2-11 and 1.7 million Kids 6-11. "Gravity Falls" premieres in its regular timeslot Friday, June 29 (9:30 p.m.). "Gravity Falls," created and executive-produced by Alex Hirsch, and stars Greg Ellis, Jason Ritter and Kristen Schaal. The premiere of "Let It Shine" gives another advantage to Disney Channel which now has the year's Top 5 scripted TV telecasts among Kids 2-11 and Kids 6-11 (two episodes of "Wizards of Waverly Place" including the series' finale, January telecasts of "Jessie" and "Fish Hooks"). Source: NTI, early ratings, U.S. 2012 to date: 12/26/11 - 6/14/12.
Also, in my previous post about Let It Shine, poweranimals wrote "You know there were pictures of other Disney Channel stars there too." I think these were the pics he was looking for:
