Disney really wants you to watch Let it Shine. They actually issues a press release about the premiere!

Oh and yeah, they really did have that new girl from Lab Rats, Kelli Berglund, there. They’ve been using her in a lot of promotional projects lately.

STAR-STUDDED HOLLYWOOD PREMIERE FOR UPCOMING DISNEY CHANNEL ORIGINAL MOVIE “LET IT SHINE” HELD AT THE DIRECTOR’S GUILD OF AMERICA

In celebration of the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie “Let It Shine,” Disney Channel rolled out the red carpet at the Director’s Guild of America for a screening and reception attended by the movie’s stars Tyler James Williams (“Everybody Hates Chris”), Hollywood Records recording artist and Radio Disney N.B.T. (“Next BIG Thing”) finalist Coco Jones, Trevor Jackson (“Eureka”), Brandon Mychal Smith (Disney Channel’s “So Random!”), Courtney B. Vance (ABC’s “Revenge”), Dawnn Lewis (“A Different World”), Alex Desert (“Becker”) and Nicole Sullivan (“MADtv”), along with the movie’s director Paul Hoen and Disney Channels Worldwide president and chief creative officer Gary Marsh. The movie, the classic Cyrano de Bergerac story re-imagined and set in the contemporary world of hip-hop, rap and gospel music, premieres FRIDAY, JUNE 15 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Celebrities there include: pop sensation Cody Simpson, Ariel Winter (“Modern Family” & Disney Junior’s “Sofia the First”), BooBoo Stewart (“Twilight”), Bella Thorne, Zendaya, Adam Irigoyen (“Shake It Up”), Jake Short (“A.N.T. Farm”), Bradley Steven Perry (“Good Luck Charlie”), Debby Ryan, Karan Brar, Skai Jackson, (“Jessie”), Tyrel Jackson Williams, Billy Unger, Hal Sparks, Kelli Berglund (“Lab Rats”), Vincent Martella (“Phineas and Ferb”), Madison Pettis (“Jake & the Never Land Pirates”), Geno Segers and Ryan Ochoa (“Pair of Kings”), Dylan Riley Snyder, Olivia Holt (“Kickin’ It”), Calum Worthy (“Austin & Ally”), Blake Michael and G Hannelius (“Dog With A Blog”), Nick Turturro (“Blue Bloods”), Wayne Brady (“Let’s Make A Deal”) and recording artists IM5 and Samantha Mumba.

For the past decade, a Disney Channel Original Movie premiere has been TV’s #1 original movie telecast of the year among Tweens 9-14 and for five years running, the year’s #1 cable TV movie in Total Viewers. Many of the music-focused titles over the past six years have contributed to Disney Channel’s significant successful track record in youth music.

“Let It Shine” was written by Eric Daniel and Don D. Scott (“Barbershop,” “Barbershop 2: Back in Business”) and directed by two-time DGA award winner Paul Hoen (“Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam,” “The Cheetah Girls One World”). “Let It Shine” was choreographed by Danny Teeson (“American Idol”) and associate Brandon Shaw (“So You Think You Can Dance,” NAACP Image Awards). The movie is a production of G Wave Productions, LLC.

  1. Kelli Berglund is a cutie! 😀 Not sure I’m lovin’ the frosted hair on her but her face is so pretty! 🙂

    To be honest I’m not really feelin’ “Let iIt Shine” from the previews DC is showing. I’ll probably watch it because . . . well, it’s a DCOM and I watch pretty much all of them but somehow I don’t think I’m going to enjoy this one as much as some of the others. 🙁
