First: I absolutely adore Selena & Demi and I am in no way saying they did anything wrong.
That said, there have been two pictures of Selena Gomez (Wizards of Waverly Place) and Demi Lovato (Camp Rock) in bikinis circulating for the past few days.
Because neither is nearly as popular as Miley, there seems to be little chatter. But as these two are the most likely replacements for Miley should she not rebound from the Vanity Fair issue, it kinda throws a wrench in the works.
Personally, I’m starting to think there will never be another “good girl” Disney star a la Hilary Duff. Miley had been well on her way, but with the continuing eagerness of the media to find and blow up any issue – and in the process provide inspiration for more questionable photos.

I love them both – my point is that in the light of current events, and the over-sexualization of our culture, Selena & Demi in Bikinis suddenly becomes a major story. It shouldn’t be a big story, but it is none the less.

1st, it’s news. Just look at all the conversation – people obviously care.
2nd, I never said the girls did anything wrong. My issue is with the culture that makes it an issue.
3rd, I take it you haven’t looked at the massive screencap gallery then? It’s very useful to have all those screencaps in one place.
Really, there is nothing wrong with two friends swimming in a bikini. Because seriously, do they even make 1 pieces anymore?????? Anyway…. there is nothing wrong with demi and selena they are just being normal teens. people act like they haven’t seen girls in bikinis before.
How come all the girls get critisized and not the guys. How come when guys wear bathing suits people don’t start talking about them. It make no sense. And seriously there bathing suits fit well its like like theres a bunch of cleavage showing like other pics. It is just a swimsuit. People magazine put pictures of people at the beach in bikinis all the time. It is no big deal. So if paparazzi were to get a pic of them at the beach in a bikini, you are gonna through this huge hit. Everyone needs to grow up. Demi and Selena will be following in the footsteps of Hilary Duff as Disney Channel “good girls”.

It’s not like they’re doing a ‘seductive’ pose like Miley’s pictures. They’re having fun at a pool, big whoop. More than 90% of teenage girls wear bikinis.
The media should find a new set of people to torture. They have to face the truth that Selena and Demi will and are good girls that won’t do anything bad like Miley.
They’re just best friends swimming and having a good time. I love them both and there’s nothing wrong with those pictures. They are way better than miley cyrus and everything she has done. So these pictures don’t really mean anything and it dosen’t have anything the to do with sexuality.

Erm….haven’t you been swimming in a bikini before? Good lord, they were just two teenage girls having a life outside of Disney Channel. And I guess that’s impossible because the dang paparazzi is following them into the pool. For Pete’s sake, they are teenagers, they’re allowed to be someone different from who they are from when they were on Barney. They’re not gonna stay kids forever. I love these two girls. They are just having some fun. People say Miley gets the short end of the stick but remember she posed in a bra and panties. Okay uhm, wow. There are two girls, wearing bikinis, going swimming. Wow “thats so horrible”. I mean come on, seriously? So what? Are they like not aloud to go swimming in bathing suits?
