Good Luck Charlie Premieres Sunday April 4th

Finally! Good Luck Charlie is scheduled to premiere in only four more weeks! They're gonna air the show immediately following the DC premiere of High School Musical 3. A year ago I would have considered that a major event, but it's been loon enough that I think most HSM fans have already watched their DVD copies several hundred times. Personally, I would have gone with a Wizards marathon or a Minutemen & Hatching Pete double feature lead in, but for some strange reason, Disney Channel programing never seems to ask my opinion... Disney's press release follows:
"Good Luck Charlie" -- Disney Channel will premiere this sitcom designed for the whole family to enjoy together -- an original live-action series about a family whose lives are turned topsy-turvy with the arrival of a new baby sister -- on SUNDAY, APRIL 4 (8:30 p.m., ET/PT). In each episode, big sister Teddy creates a personalized video diary for baby Charlie, with each installment chronicling daily adventures and mishaps for Charlie to use as advice when her big sister is no longer living at home. Created and executive-produced by Phil Baker and Drew Vaupen ("Suddenly Susan" and "What I Like About You") and executive-produced by Dan Staley ("Cheers," "Love & Money"), the series stars Bridgit Mendler ("Wizards of Waverly Place"), Jason Dolley ("Cory in the House," "Hatching Pete"), Bradley Steven Perry, Eric Allan Kramer ("CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "My Name Is Earl") and Leigh-Allyn Baker ("Will & Grace).

New Phineas and Ferb Monday!

Remember that March DC Highlights post? One thing I realized when I wrote it was that there where no new Phineas and Ferb episodes. Well, it looks like they wanted to premiere the new episode on Disney XD instead. Makes sense, I guess.
BEN STILLER AND CHRISTINE TAYLOR GUEST STAR IN A SUPERHERO EPISODE OF "PHINEAS AND FERB," PREMIERING MONDAY, MARCH 8 ON DISNEY XD Emmy Award-winning Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor guest star in an action-packed episode of TV's #1 animated series for kids and tweens, "Phineas and Ferb," premiering MONDAY, MARCH 8 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney XD. It will also be presented Friday, March 12 (9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. The real-life husband and wife are the parents of "Phineas and Ferb" fans. In the episode entitled "The Beak," Stiller voices a super villain and Taylor plays his nagging wife. Stiller's character arrives in Danville to challenge Phineas and Ferb after the boys are mistaken as a superhero (while wearing an indestructible suit they designed to safely conquer their newly built extreme skate-track) known as The Beak. With the super villain wreaking havoc, it's up to Phineas and Ferb to thwart him while Dr. Doofenshmirtz tells the people of the Tri-State area that he is in charge, in hopes that they will actually just go along with it. "Phineas and Ferb" airs on Disney XD and Disney Channels in more than 135 countries and in 26 languages around the world. In the U.S., "Phineas and Ferb" has ranked as TV’s #1 animated series among Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14 for two consecutive years. In addition, "Phineas and Ferb" is Disney XD’s #1 animated series in key demos. The series carries a TV-G parental guideline.

JONAS Season 2

We've known for a few weeks that Chelsea and Nicole are back to work on JONAS, but I thought I would post the press release for anyone that hasn't seen it already. It looks like they're giving the series a bit of a "reboot" - probably in response to season one's sub-par ratings.
PRODUCTION HAS BEGUN ON THE SECOND SEASON OF DISNEY CHANNEL'S HIT COMEDY SERIES "JONAS," STARRING MULTI-PLATINUM RECORDING ARTISTS JONAS BROTHERS --Debi Mazar and Adam Hicks Join in Recurring Roles-- Production has begun in and around Los Angeles on the second season of the Teen Choice Award-winning comedy series, "JONAS," starring global sensations Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas and popular actresses Chelsea Staub and Nicole Anderson. The new season finds the Lucas brothers and friends Stella and Macy spending a summer in Hollywood. In Season Two of "JONAS," rock stars Kevin, Joe and Nick Lucas have landed in Los Angeles, where they have rented a Hollywood Hills house and will experience a summer like no other when their relaxing vacation turns into three life-changing opportunities: Joe lands a prized role in a big Hollywood film, Kevin indulges his newfound passion for the movie business by shadowing a famous director, and Nick takes up surfing and feverishly works on his first passion – writing songs for the new JONAS album. Completing the entourage are the guys' best friends, Stella Malone, who continues to grapple with being more than just a friend to Joe, and Macy Misa, who keeps all the fans up to date with her JONAS V-log. Recurring guest stars are Debi Mazar ("Entourage") as Mona, the mercurial and eccentric film director at the helm of the movie Joe stars in; Adam Hicks (of Disney XD's "Zeke and Luther") as DZ, the brothers’ posturing neighbor; and Abby Pivaronas ("Lincoln Heights") as Vanessa Page, Joe's beautiful movie co-star. Chaperoning the fun are the Lucas Brothers' friend and chief of security, Big Man (played by Jonas Brothers' real-life chief of security, Rob Feggans), and Stella's Aunt Lisa, played by Beth Crosby ("All My Children"). Throughout the season, "JONAS" will feature all-new original songs performed by Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas. "JONAS" is executive-produced by Lester Lewis ("The Office," "The Larry Sanders Show") and Paul Hoen (director and co-producer of "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam," DGA Award-winning director of "Jump In!," and "The Cheetah Girls One World," among others). The series was created by Roger S.H. Schulman and Michael Curtis.

March Disney Channel Highlights

Remember the Feb highlights post? It looks like Disney's gonna start giving us monthly highlights. :) March is gonna be a big month for DC Fans, starting with a special Suite Life on Deck.
"Once Upon a Suite Life" – During Ms. Tutweiler's history lesson, Zack, Cody and London fall asleep and dream of themselves in classic fairy tales. London dreams that she is the evil witch trying to poison Snow White (Bailey), so she can be the fairest in the land; Cody imagines he and Zack are Hansel and Gretel as they get lost in the forest and find a candy cottage and Ms. Tutweiler, a witch; and Zack dreams of Jack and the Beanstalk, in which he trades the family cow for magic beans, in a new episode of "The Suite Life on Deck," premiering FRIDAY, MARCH 5 (8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
Then March 14th is a huge day, with the previously announced Hannah Montana S3 finale, and the Premiere of Sonny with a Chance Season two
"Walk A Mile In My Pants" – Sonny rallies everyone together for a "Walk-A-Thon For Books" and gets Tawni to donate her "Tawni Hart's Extreme Skinny Jeans" for all of the participants to wear. Eventually everyone starts dropping out as a result of SPS - Skinny Pants Syndrome, in a new episode of "Sonny With A Chance," SUNDAY, MARCH 14 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
It will be followed by a new JONAS, which is surprising. I thought they already used up all the S1 episodes. And there's no way they could be done with a S2 episode already.
"Exam Jam" – As the JONAS World Concert Tour draws closer, Joe and Stella come to terms with being apart from one another over the summer. Meanwhile Kevin and Joe devise a plan to help Nick ace his geometry test after their dad threatens not to send the brothers on tour unless they pass all their school exams, in "JONAS," premiering SUNDAY, MARCH 14 (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
After that epic weekend, we get a new Wizards of Waverly Place.
"Detention Election" – Justin's chances at becoming Student Body President are put in jeopardy after someone wallpapers Principal Laritate's office with posters from Justin's campaign and he is accused of masterminding the prank. Meanwhile, Alex befriends Stevie, a rebellious new girl in school, and Jerry, Max and Harper get stuck on a Ferris wheel during their trip to Coney Island in "Wizards of Waverly Place," premiering FRIDAY, MARCH 19 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
And a new On Deck. This series must be nearing the end of the season, although I haven't checked exactly how many more remain.
"Marriage 101" – Ms. Tutweiler assigns her students a project where they must act like married couples and manage a household. Cody and Bailey are the quintessential perfect couple, and Zack and London make a surprisingly good couple too. When Woody and Addison have a child – Marcus – they learn how difficult adult life can be, in a new episode of "The Suite Life on Deck," premiering FRIDAY, MARCH 19 (8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
And then we'll wrap up the month with two more new Sonny with a Chance episodes.
"Sonny Get Your Goat" – When Sonny and Tawni learn the "Check It Out Girls" sketch is popular in Glendovia, Marshall arranges for an exchange program, not realizing that the Glendovians think the girls are real check-out girls and want them to be cashiers for a store's grand opening. Meanwhile, Nico and Grady wear mustaches to fit in with their Glendovian exchange student, in a new episode of "Sonny With A Chance," SUNDAY, MARCH 21 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
And
"Gassie Passes" – When the cast of "So Random!" finds out they are starring in a new movie based on their "Gassie" sketches, Demi showers the pup with affection by giving him too many dog treats. When Gassie passes out, the cast fears the worst, only to discover that Sonny's treats caused Gassie to fall ill. Meanwhile, Nico and Grady receive money from a secret investor, who turns out to be Dakota Condor, to mass produce the Gassie lunch boxes that Zora invented, in a new episode of "Sonny With A Chance," SUNDAY, MARCH 28 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
Of course, Jennifer Stone's new movie "Harriet the Spy: The Blog Wars" also premieres this month on the 26th. But no one cares about that. :P

Aly & AJ split with Hollywood Records

This news broke last Friday, and just in case anyone hasn't yet heard, it looks like Aly & AJ have broken their last official ties with Disney and have left Hollywood Records! From the way they framed it their mass email message, it sounds like they're happy to be out of that contract and free to pursue another record deal so they can have more creative control. Sounds a lot like when Aly and her mom walked away from Phil of the Future for a new show with AJ that eventually never happened. The Michalkas really really need to stop biting the hand that feeds them. Why not release the third album with Hollywood, make a good deal of money from it, and then shop for a new record deal while riding the wave of that album? I obviously don't know all the details, but something here just doesn't add up. Anyway, here's the message from the girls, if you haven't read it already:
Hey guys…so we know it’s been quiet in the 78violet camp but we want to first off thank you for sticking with us. We have some big news and wanted to make sure you hear it first. Now that it’s official, we can tell you we’re no longer a part of Hollywood Records. What does that mean exactly??? Now we have the freedom to take 78violet in the direction we want. We’re writing and recording new music and are really excited on what’s next. So…what is next? As for the album we recorded for Hollywood, honestly, we don’t foresee it ever being released. But…we are continuing to write and record new songs that we hope you’ll love as much as we do. We’re going to be taking the Aly & AJ website down in the meantime which means the current message board will be removed and the accounts you created on the site will be put on hold. Yes…major bummer. But we’ll have a new message board and a new temporary site up in a few days that will serve as our main communication with you for the time being. As always, you can get a hold of us on Twitter or Facebook. We love you and are excited to share the new 78violet with you. Xoxo. A+A 78violet

Is the doctor about to cut off Tawni's pants? LOLz :D

Sonny with a Chance - Walk A Mile In My Pants Promos

And if you missed them before, here's a couple Sonny with a Chance Season 2 promos.

Good Luck Charlie Filming

Frequent readers will remember that I went to my first GLC filming last December. At that filming, I got to see the first episode and the one they shot that day, #111 "Kit and Kaboodle." I decided that wanted to go again towards the end of the season, and I was able to this past Friday (02/12/10)!

Sunset Bronson Studios

Before I went to the filming, I checked my usual sources and I found a high Quality promotional picture of the whole Duncan family!

Good Luck Charlie Cast Photo

Friday's episode was #118, "Butt-Dialing Duncans." I don't want to give too much away, but I will say that Teddy and PJ get new phones and they get themselves in a little bit of trouble. I learned that Teddy does have a best friend in the series named Ivy. And the mom in this series is hilarious. You'll see what I mean, eventually. :) Our audience warm up guy, Roger, was a lot of fun. He didn't do raffle tickets, and instead just handed out candy, signed script covers, and valentines bears. I got a box of candy. :) My mom said afterward that I should have gotten Bridgit to autograph it. I replied that I should have just given it to her. ;) I met some really awesome people in the audience too. I told them about the site, and if you're reading this now, well you know who you are. ;) This episode took a little longer to film than the first one I went to. Leigh Allyn Baker and Eric Allan Kramer (Amy and Bob Duncan) had this one very serious scene, and they just couldn't stop laughing! One would be okay and the other would laugh, or someone in the audience would, and it was just contagious! We must have wasted 10 minutes - and it's all on tape. I hope it makes the blooper reel on the eventual DVD. :) There where some other flubs as well, most of them Bridgit's. But she's the star, so she can get away with it. ;) After the episode wrapped, we got to meet the cast and get our autographs. From Eric's reaction to my cast photo, I think it's safe to say that I was the first person to ever bring in that particular cast photo. Cool. :) I got the whole family too, well, except the baby. LOL

Signed Good Luck Charlie Cast Photo

I also brought two copies of the photo of Bridgit and myself from the wizards taping two weeks ago. I asked her to sign one of them for me, and I gave the other one to her. Seems fair to me. :) Unfortunately, I forgot to ask her if she had a chance to check out the website. But I did write it on the photo, just in case she forgot. ;) But I did tell all the other cast members about the GLC fansite, so maybe someone will check it out. And for the record, Bridgit and Jason did till remember me. Although Jason didn't remember to check out the site. This time I wrote it down for him. It'll be a couple more months before the show premiers, and I'm already a big fan! I said before that "my rule is always to see three episodes before I judge a new series" and now, I have. The thing I love most about this series is that it's a normal family with normal issues that is explored in a very well written way. I hope the naysayers actually watch a few episodes, 'cause I'd like to see this show stick around for a good four or more seasons. :)

Sonny with a Chance Season 2

Well, it looks like we finally have an air date for the new season of Sonny with a Chance - March 14th 2010!

Sonny with a Chance Season 2

This advertisement is courtesy of AlexisMarie23 who was kind enough to tweet this add from the back of J-14 magazine. And yes, that is a chicken behind Chad. LOL. I love Tawni's pose. She's like, "I'm here too. And pretty!" :) Edit: See this post for more about the first Season two episode to air.
