Selena Gomez’s last week on Wizards

If you've been reading Selena's tweets the past week, you'd know that they taped the last Wizards of Waverly Place episode in Hollywood this past Friday.

Selena Gomez - Wizards is Done!

The show made it to an impressive 100 episodes, a milestone that very few shows reach, and even fewer Disney shows.

Selena Gomez - Wizards 100 Episodes

Selena should be proud. Her dad even came out for the last episode!

Selena Gomez and her dad

Now what's unclear is if the promised second Wizards movie is happening or not. I haven't heard anything official but there is cause to be concerned.

Selena Gomez – Southern Style St. Bernard Project Event

I also wanted to share a few pics of Selena at Britney Spears’ Southern Style St. Bernard Project charity event this past Wednesday.

Do I even need to say how cute I think she looks here?

Selena Gomez – Southern Style St. Bernard Project Event

Oh, and did anyone go see her at Wango Tango in LA yesterday? I'll have pics from that show up soon too.

Greg’s Awesome Autograph Wall

So in honor of her 18th birthday, I finally got around to framing my new Debby Ryan autograph. Pretty awesome right? I love that pic of her.

Greg's Awesome Autographs

I ended up spending a couple hours rearranging and fixing up my autographs wall. So I thought I might as well show it off. These first few are unchanged...

Greg's Awesome Autographs

There are a few new ones in this next batch including Erin sanders (Zoey 101, Big Time Rush), Carly Schroeder (Port Charles, Lizzie McGuire) and Daniella Monet (Victorious).

Greg's Awesome Autographs

I did keep one I'm in the Band pic for myself. And despite Disney flat out refusing to give me one at the filming, (seriously, they treat everyone over 16 like crap) I did eventually manage to get my hands on a Sonny with a Chance poster. :D

Greg's Awesome Autographs

I finally got around to framing my Ariana Grande autograph. It's only been 7 months. LOL.

Greg's Awesome Autographs

I got my Bella Thorne and Zendaya autographs on the far right of this next pic plus my Taylor Swift calenders (This year's and last!)

Greg's Awesome Autographs

Last but not least, one of the rarest pieces of KP memorabilia that I know to exist.

Greg's Awesome Autographs

I hope you enjoyed looking half as much as I enjoyed showing off. And no, you can't have anything, so don't ask. :P

Disney 2Q Net Slides 1.2%

Profits are down slightly mostly due to poor performance in the studio division (Mars Needs Moms anyone?) but actual revenues are still up. The full article follows...

The Walt Disney Company

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Walt Disney Co.'s (DIS) fiscal second-quarter profit slid 1.2% as strong advertising revenue and an improving parks-and-resorts business were offset by poor results in the studio entertainment division. Results missed analyst expectations, pushing shares down 2.8% to $42.70 in after-hours trading. The stock is up 17% this year through Tuesday's close. Like many of its peers, Disney's networks have benefited from a rebound in the television advertising market, while its theme-parks division has reported higher attendance and per-person spending. However, overall results were dragged down by the timing of the Easter holiday, which fell in the current quarter, along with the effects from the Japanese earthquake, the timing of certain DVD releases and a disappointing showing for the film "Mars Needs Moms." Those factors, along with a charge on last year's purchase of social-game maker Playdom, combined to cut earnings by more than $170 million. For the quarter ended April 2, Disney reported a profit of $942 million, down from $953 million, a year earlier. On a per-share basis, earnings rose to 49 cents from 48 cents as Disney had 2% fewer shares outstanding in the latest period. Revenue grew 5.8% to $9.08 billion. Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters expected a profit of 56 cents on revenue of $9.13 billion. Revenue from the company's media networks--its biggest top-line contributor--jumped 12%, while profit increased 17%. ESPN revenue was boosted by the football Bowl Championship Series and high ratings for regular-season NBA games. Chief Executive Robert Iger said on a conference call that early signs suggest "strong" advertising sales during next week's upfront. Still, Chief Financial Officer Jay Rasulo warned that comparisons to the year-ago third fiscal quarter will be difficult, as the prior period included the World Cup, a seven-game playoff between the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics and heavy political advertising spending. Parks-and-resorts revenue rose 7.4% although profit declined 3.3%. Excluding the impact of the Easter holiday timing, attendance at domestic parks would have risen 2%. Per-capita spending rose 6% and per-room spending gained 4%. In the current quarter, bookings at Disney resorts are about 2.5% below year-ago levels, but booked-room prices are ahead by double digits. The interactive media segment, which has plagued Disney amid increasing competition from more mobile game platforms, posted 8% revenue growth as its operating loss widened. Still, the company said it sees continued opportunities for that unit. The studio entertainment segment's top line fell 13%, while profit slumped 65%. The segment was hurt by lower unit sales of home entertainment after a strong prior-year performance of the first two "Toy Story" films and other movies, as well as the disappointing "Mars Needs Moms." However, a strong opening weekend for Marvel Studios' comic-book adaption of "Thor" bodes well for Disney, which will begin distributing films from the studio beginning with "The Avengers" in 2012. The company said the upcoming releases of the fourth "Pirates of the Caribbean" installment and "Cars" sequel also will be major factors in the current quarter. Meanwhile, Disney said it expects to save $350 million to $400 million over five years, beginning in fiscal 2012, after changing certain salary pension plans. The move should cut pension expense by 25% to 30% compared with the prior program.

OMG, I loved Pamela Hamster. And they’re bringing her back? Okay, this might actually be pretty cool.

"Misperceived Monotreme" – Perry misses his 100th battle against Dr. Doofenshmirtz when Candace takes him to the Charity Pet Wash with her. Perry's absence goes unnoticed when a typical platypus at the Danville Zoo stops Dr. Doofenshmirtz's plan to zap his brother with his "Least Likely-inator." Meanwhile, the boys build a fun house Phineas and Ferb style. This episode of "Phineas and Ferb" airs FRIDAY, MAY 13 (9:00-9:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
I hate when the “break up” episode is in the same month as the “get together.” It takes all the fun out of guessing what’s gonna happen!
TEDDY MUST FIGURE OUT A NICE WAY TO BREAK UP WITH DEREK IN A NEW EPISODE OF "GOOD LUCK CHARLIE," SUNDAY, MAY 15 ON DISNEY CHANNEL "The Break Up" – Teddy is losing interest in Derek but has a hard time breaking up with him because he keeps doing nice things for her. Meanwhile, Amy volunteers to coach Gabe's new hockey team, but her overly competitive nature backfires when Gabe accidentally hits the puck straight for her teeth. Also, Bob has to figure out a way to get PJ his job back after he unintentionally gets him fired, in a new episode of "Good Luck Charlie," premiering SUNDAY, MAY 15 (8:00–8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
And… that’s it I guess. The second half of the month is gonna be fairly boring I suppose…

Because I'm awesome (okay, I just got there really early) I was the 7th person in line and got some great photos of Tizz as she arrived.

There was quite a bit of press there. 15+ press photographers plus B&N's own in house photographer. Disney did some filming there too.

I think I was the only one that caught her with her usual coffee prink though. LOL

Sonny Without a Lovato

Sonny With a Chance holds, well, no chance. Demi Lovato announced in People Magazine that she will NOT be returning to filming Disney's Sonny With a Chance, or it's remake, So Random!
Demi Lovato is taking a chance. The teen star – who entered treatment for “physical and emotional issues” last October – will not be returning to her hit Disney Channel series, Sonny with a Chance. “It made sense for me to go ahead and leave the show to focus on my music,”Lovato, 18, tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue. “It’s kind of sad for me that a chapter of my life has ended but there couldn’t be a better time for me to move on.” “I don’t think going back to Sonny would be healthy for my recovery,” says Lovato, who returned to Los Angeles in January after completing three months of in-patient treatment. “Being in front of a camera would make me nervous.” And she has the support of the Disney Channel. “We respect Demi’s decision to focus fulltime on her music and not immediately return to her acting career,” a rep for the Disney Channel said in a statement. “She is a talented young woman and our hearts are with her as she continues to take action to improve her health and bounce back from adversity.” Lovato’s career took off after starring in the Disney Channel’s 2008 original movie Camp Rock, opposite the Jonas Brothers. Next came Sonny with a Chance, which debuted in 2010. But even without its main star, the show will still go on: the series is being reinvented as a sketch comedy program called So Random!, which will debut in June. Lovato, who will continue to record under Disney’s label Hollywood Records, calls her decision to walk away from her TV gig “nerve-racking.” But, she says, “I’m really excited to see where everything goes.”
As a reminder, this is Demi Lovato in Disney's former hit show, Sonny With a Chance. (Click to enlarge.)

Article: ABC Family Spins Gold in Dramas

This is a very interesting article about the new president of Disney's ABC Family channel, Michael G. Riley, and the new shows he has been bringing to the channel and what he has in store for the coming months. From the promos that have started airing, I have to say that "The Nine Lives of Chloe King" looks like it could be a pretty good show. They also have a new project in the works staring Raven (from "That’s So Raven").

Michael G. Riley

The full article follows:
BURBANK, Calif. — If Michael G. Riley, the new president of ABC Family, comes across as a bit nervous these days, cut him some slack. Only seven months ago he was working in radio. Now he’s about to lead a major expansion of one of television’s hottest brands. ABC Family, the Walt Disney Company’s cable channel aimed at older teenagers and young adults, plans to announce on Monday that it will add a third night of original programming each week. The channel will also start introducing original series year-round; until now it has almost exclusively introduced new programs in June. To help stock its expanding schedule, ABC Family has ordered three new scripted dramas, including “The Nine Lives of Chloe King,” about a girl who discovers she has special powers and is being hunted by an assassin. (Dan Berendsen, the force behind “Hannah Montana: The Movie” and several hit Disney Channel movies, is an executive producer.) A fourth new show will be a half-hour comedy starring Raven-Symoné of “That’s So Raven” fame. “We now have some beachfront television property in shows like ‘Pretty Little Liars,’ but there is so much more opportunity,” Mr. Riley said. “I’m focused on one thing, which is how are we keeping our foot on the accelerator.” The recent success of ABC Family has been nothing short of stunning. When Disney bought the channel in 2001 for a hefty $5.3 billion from the News Corporation and the media investor Haim Saban, it planned to show reruns from its broadcast network, ABC. But ratings plummeted without fresh programming. The cable channel, founded as the Family Channel by the evangelist Pat Robertson, also had a contractual obligation to retain the world “family” in its name and run Mr. Robertson’s “700 Club” talk show in perpetuity — not exactly conducive to creating a hip teenage TV brand. Undeterred, Disney in 2004 hired Paul Lee, a former British Broadcasting Corporation executive, to run ABC Family, giving him marching orders to focus on the so-called millennial generation. Mr. Lee delivered a string of hits, including “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” a drama that stirred controversy by concentrating on a pregnant 15 year old. With the arrival in 2010 of “Pretty Little Liars,” a mystery centered on four best friends that became an immediate ratings success, ABC Family became a bona fide smash itself. It is now one of cable’s top 10 networks among adults 18 to 49. ABC Family attracted an average of 580,000 viewers ages 12 to 34, its target demographic, in prime time 2010, a 49 percent increase from 2005. The channel’s primary competitor, the CW, has struggled to find new hits during this time — it passed on “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” — and is seeking a new president. “ABC Family has been riding a train of increasing success,” said Kris Magel, a senior vice president at Initiative, a media-buying agency. “Advertisers value this channel. It delivers all the buzz and great ratings, with limited controversy.” Mr. Riley, 41, took over ABC Family in September after Mr. Lee was promoted to run the entertainment division of ABC. Overflowing with boyish charm — that is, when not in the presence of two Disney public relations executives, as he was during a recent interview here — Mr. Riley had been running Radio Disney, a string of 37 stations, for two years. His hiring puzzled Hollywood — radio? — but Mr. Riley had previous television experience, albeit not on the creative side. From 1997 to 2008 he worked for Turner Broadcasting System in Europe, with responsibilities like drafting brand strategy for channels like Cartoon Network and TNT. Mr. Riley has an M.B.A. from the London Business School. Mr. Riley, who is Canadian, quickly impressed Disney executives by throwing himself into learning and running the radio operation even though he wasn’t overly excited by the medium. (When Rich Ross, now chairman of Walt Disney Studios, recruited him for the radio job, Mr. Riley made it clear he wanted a future in television.) His accomplishments at Radio Disney included expanding online efforts, integrating its programming more heavily with that of Disney Channel and greatly improving morale. “Michael has a great understanding of brands and their importance in an ever-fragmenting media landscape,” said Anne Sweeney, president of the Disney/ABC Television Group. Because of the long gestation period for television shows, Mr. Riley has only begun to make his presence felt at ABC Family; all of the new series, for instance, were already in development at the channel when he arrived. He also has a strong lieutenant in Kate Juergens, executive vice president for original series programming and development. But Mr. Riley was deeply involved with the casting and scheduling of the new shows and will start wooing advertisers this week in New York. In addition to “The Nine Lives of Chloe King,” the new dramas Mr. Riley will be promoting this week include “Switched at Birth,” the story of two teenage girls who were mixed up as newborns. “The Lying Game,” meantime, is a mystery about twin sisters. The goal for “The Great State of Georgia,” in which Raven-Symoné stars as an aspiring actress with a larger-than-life personality, is to create a comedy block on Wednesday nights. It will be paired with “Melissa & Joey,” a successful returning series starring Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence. “We love the authenticity of all of these shows, all of which have our hallmarks of heart, humor and optimism,” Mr. Riley said.
