This sounds like a pretty cool contest/competition idea actually. Sort of a kid version of So You Think You Can Dance, I guess?
This sort of news is probably more appropriate for our new Disney and Nick blog, but it looks like it's here now. xD

I know why most people look at my blog, and that's for the hot girls in skimpy outfits. I used to try and kid myself about that fact, but I know it to be true and I've learned to embrace it. But please, allow me a moment just this once to talk a little bit about myself, my other projects, and the future of this blog.
This site had been growing at a tremendous rate these past few months. Since the start of the year I've upgraded servers for the gallery twice and I've upgraded servers for the main forum three times. And let me tell you something, that takes a lot of time not to mention quite a bit of cash upfront. I work about 50 - 60 hours a week at not much over minimum wage. I'm not complaining, but that's just barely enough to cover my college loan payments plus room and board.
I've always viewed this site as a hobby (just look at my banners!). A hobby that's gotten considerably more expensive to maintain at a time when I'm even less able to pull money from my pocket for it. So in order to keep this site alive it has to pay for itself. And to make things worse, I lost a major advertiser last week and I'm having a hell of a time getting my payments from another. I'm sorry that the Linkbucks is annoying, but it's replacing the old full page ads and I need to keep it while I look for new revenue streams. It's only one add to click from the new post over to the gallery. All you have to do is wait ten seconds and then click the continue button in the top right corner. And there are no ads at all on the gallery site. Is ONE ad really asking all that much?
BTW, if anyone is interested in advertising on DC Fans or any of my other sites, that can be worked out on a case by case basis. You can reach me by email: greg [at] dcfans [dot] tv
---------------------------------
I would also like to take a moment to discuss several of the new projects I have been working on, including my new Nickelodeon Girls Blog. I've posted quite a bit about my love Ariana Grande on here in the past, but I recently decided that it would be more appropriate to spin off the Nick discussions to it's own site. That way I don't bother the Disney fans with Nick news and I also feel free to post more Nick stuff without "intruding" on polite members that don't really care.
If you like this blog and miss the Nick girls, then you'll love NickelodeonGirls.com. If not, well... I won't bother you again. But you still might still wanna check out the the site just for the "Victorious Girls Upskirts" post. ;)
Debby's new show Jessie has just started production in Hollywood and they will be filming their first episode this week! We still don't know that much about the show, but as they start filming we should start getting more details, photos, and videos. Plus she already has legions of fans, so it just seemed like an appropriate time to put together a new Debby fan community. Check it out!
And finally, one of my best friends in the world and SWAC Forum mod, Rissa, and I are starting another new blog. Our new site, Disney and Nick will be written primarily from the female perspective and will include news and updates on Disney and Nick shows, "respectful" comments about the girls, and at least a few posts about how hot the guys are. I'm gonna try to skip over the last category. xD But if you're into that sort of thing, or just want to know more about the shows, it's worth a look! We just started on it a few days ago so there's not much there yet but there will be soon. DisneyAndNick.com.
Disney Channel has officially picked up the new series Austin & Ally, staring Laura Marano. We told you about the pilot back in January, but it's official now. It should be interesting!
Official Press Release Follows...
DISNEY CHANNEL ANNOUNCES START OF PRODUCTION ON
NEW LIVE-ACTION COMEDY SERIES, "AUSTIN & ALLY"
Disney Channel has ordered "Austin & Ally," an original, live-action comedy series chronicling the friendship of an unlikely duo whose lives unexpectedly enliven when one becomes an overnight Internet musical sensation. The multi-camera series will begin production in Hollywood this summer for a scheduled late 2011 premiere on Disney Channel.
Starring are newcomer Ross Lynch as Austin, Laura Marano ("Without a Trace," "Back to You") as Ally, Raini Rodriguez (Disney's "Prom," "I'm in the Band") as Trish and Calum Worthy ("Psych," "Good Luck Charlie") as Dez.
The series follows the partnership between polar opposites -- Austin, an extroverted musician/singer, and Ally, a brilliant yet shy songwriter -- and their two best friends, Trish and Dez. Unbeknownst to Ally, Austin and Dez "borrow" one of her songs, record it, create a video and post it on the Internet, after which it and Austin become a local sensation. When Trish convinces Ally to tell the world she wrote the song, Austin pleads with her to write another hit for him. Instead, the two combine their talents to create a true musical tour-de-force.
"Austin & Ally" was created and is executive-produced by Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert ("Good Burger," "Kenan & Kel," Disney Channel's "Sonny With A Chance" and "JONAS"). The pilot was directed by Shelley Jensen ("Good Luck Charlie," "Shake It Up").
This looks so stupid. But hey, ya never know, I thought Lemonade Mouth would be stupid and it actually ended up being pretty damn good. It also looks like it's part of a series? I'm not exactly sure what they mean by "Ushers in Summer Series"...

Disney's new Sonny with a Chance spinoff series So Random is set to premiere next week! As I mentioned before, the new series focuses entirely on the comedy with pretty much no connection to Sonny's plot what so ever. Still, it's got a good cast (<3 U Tiff) and it's pretty well written. As you may recall, I went to the filming for the 5th episode (Guest staring my love Selena Gomez) and while a few sketches fell flat it was pretty damn funny overall. Plus Demi said to watch it in her live chat on Friday, so all you Demi lovers better do what she says.

I think they realize how much they're gonna need these new shows with all their core shows (HM, SLOD, SWAC, and WOWP) all wrapping up at once. Personally, I don't much care for China, the actress or the country. And they named her character Chyna? That's as bad as Miley Cyrus playing Miley Stewart for four years.
Anyway, here's the premiere schedule. Don't worry if you miss the first episode, I'm sure they'll replay it a few hundred times...

How exactly is Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure a DCOM when it was already released straight to DVD? I mean, I know they released it on DVD 'CAUSE ASHLEY F-ING SIGNED IT FOR ME last month. LOLz
Anyway, if you haven't already seen it, watch it on May 22nd at 8. It's not an amazing film, but Tizz is pretty much in every scene so it's entertaining at least. :)
