Well, it’s about time! Disney has formally announced that the premiere of the Suite Life Movie will be Friday March 25th on Disney Channel. But wait, isn’t that then they were gonna premiere the new DCOM: Lemonade Mouth? I guess Bridgit’s movie got bumped. Still, the SLOD movie should be a big event and I can see why they made that decision. The Suite Life Movie - London and Bailey Disney’s official press release follows.

In the U.S., across all basic cable, Disney Channel Original Movies dominate the ratings, and have produced basic cable's No. 1 original movie telecast among Kids 6-11 for eight of the past nine years, and for nine consecutive years among Tweens 9-14. "The Suite Life on Deck" premiered in 2008 as a spin-off of "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" which premiered in 2005. Filmed on location in Vancouver, Canada, the comedy adventure movie takes place during spring break as Cody gets an opportunity to participate in a prestigious internship program. However, when twin brother Zack destroys billion-dollar scientific equipment, Cody is kicked out of the program. The February schedule kicks off with a new Wizards of Waverly place three part special, "Wizards vs. Angels." Maxine ends up in beauty pageant. LOL Later in the month, there are a couple new Good Luck Charlie (Season Two!) and Shake it Up episodes. And as usual, a bunch of random Fish Hooks episodes scattered about. Sonny will hopefully begin filming soon 'cause we're in for a looong dry spell as it is. The full February schedule follows.

FRIDAY, February 4th

Wizards of Waverly Place - “Everything’s Rosie for Justin” – A representative from the wizard world tells Justin’s class that they may be eligible to get back into WizTech if they can successfully perform a wand drill. The delinquent wizards are hopeful, but their chances of succeeding are put in jeopardy when new student, Rosie, joins the class and is unable to perform even the simplest wizard spells. Further complicating matters is Justin’s crush on Rosie, in a new episode of “Wizards of Waverly Place,” premiering FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 4 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Fish Hooks – “Big Fish” – Milo joins Bea in her new exercise class but is embarrassed when he’s the weakest fish, so he enlists Jumbo Shrimp to help him become big and strong using a secret method which backfires.

“The Tale of Sir Oscar Fish” – Oscar has an accident and wakes up in what he believes is his fantasy novel where he meets medieval equivalents of everyone at Freshwater High. It gets dangerous when Oscar takes on a deadly mission against a dragon and realizes that this is no fantasy – it’s the real thing.

This episode of Disney Channel’s “Fish Hooks” airs FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 4 (8:30 p.m., ET/PT). “The Tale of Sir Oscar Fish” originally aired Friday, December 17.

Friday, February 11th

Wizards of Waverly Place – “Dancing With Angels” – After Justin and Rosie’s first date goes awry, they decide to make their second date special by going to an angel dance in Los Angeles. Not wanting to be left out of the fun, Alex and Harper convince Rosie to take them along as well. But the night takes a turn for the worst when the other angels at the dance suspect that Alex and Harper are not really angels. Meanwhile, Jerry and Theresa enter Maxine in a beauty pageant, in a new episode of “Wizards of Waverly Place,” premiering FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 11 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Fish Hooks - “The Dark Side of the Fish” – Oscar shares a sincere poem in class that creeps fellow students out. Feeling misunderstood by Milo and Bea, Oscar decides to become a Goth fish and befriends a group that includes Bleak Molly (played by Eva Amurri). Meanwhile, Milo and Bea fear they are losing Oscar to a different crowd, and try to get their friend back.

“Baldwin the Super Fish” – When Milo and Oscar notice some very strange similarities between their teacher Mr. Baldwin and their favorite comic book superhero, they are convinced Mr. Baldwin leads a double life as the super hero. After following him around for a day, Milo decides they have to put themselves in danger in order for Baldwin the super hero to save them, therefore revealing his super hero identity. Meanwhile, Bea has a journalism assignment and follows along to get a great scoop. Kevin McDonald guest stars as Dr. Frog.

This episode of Disney Channel’s “Fish Hooks” airs FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 11 (8:30 p.m., ET/PT). “Baldwin the Super Fish” originally aired Friday, December 3.

Sunday, February 13th

Phineas and Ferb – “Make Play” – Candace switches places with a princess who looks just like her, but the ongoing antics of Phineas and Ferb prevent her from enjoying the royal luxuries, even for a day. Meanwhile, Phineas and Ferb enlist the princess to help them build a giant jukebox filled with live bands, and Dr. Doofenshmirtz plans on using his Claw-inator to ruin his brother’s dedication of the Danville Opera House.

“Candace Gets Busted” – When Linda and Lawrence take a trip, they entrust Candace to be in charge of the house, but then Stacy, her cousin Sara and Jeremy show up, and before long Candace is inadvertently hosting a giant party. Just as Linda returns home to confirm her suspicions, the entire party mysteriously moves to another location and Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s go away-inator may be involved. Sophia Bush guest stars as Sara.

This episode of “Phineas and Ferb” airs SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 13 (9:00-9:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Friday, February 18th

Wizards of Waverly Place – “Wizards vs. Angels” – After witnessing Justin and his angel girlfriend Rosie’s mean spirited behavior, a puzzled Alex seeks the help of Tina, a persistent guardian angel in training trying to get her wings. After Tina reveals Rosie is not who she says she is, Alex worries that Justin is on a course unbecoming for a wizard and must save her brother before it’s too late, in a new episode of “Wizards of Waverly Place,” premiering FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 18 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Fish Hooks – “Dollars and Fish” – Randy Pincherson gives Milo some money so he can join Oscar and Bea at the Brandon Bubbler concert; however, to Milo’s surprise, the money is just a loan and Randy is demanding he pay him back by night’s end at 300% interest. After Bea and Oscar sell their concert tickets to bail Milo out, Milo must get a job to win back his friends’ respect.

“Hooray for Hamsterwood” – When Bea is down about her stalled acting career, Milo surprises her on a show on Hamster TV, produced by the famous Mr. Nibbles (voiced by Jason Alexander) and hosted by Pamela Hamster (voiced by Sabrina Bryan). Bea, Milo and Oscar take a trip to star-studded Hamsterwood, but the situation takes a turn for the worse when they realize the show is actually a reality show where hamsters are dared to eat things like fish – and Bea is the bait!

This episode of Disney Channel’s “Fish Hooks” airs FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 18 (8:30 p.m., ET/PT). “Hooray for Hamsterwood” previously aired on Friday, December 17.

Sunday, February 20th

Good Luck Charlie – “Charlie is 2? – Charlie is turning age 2 and, after an unsuccessful bid to buy tickets, Teddy, PJ and Gabe get caught sneaking Charlie into The Gurgles sold-out concert for preschoolers. Meanwhile, Bob somehow winds up with a stolen miniature horse for Charlie’s birthday party, landing both he and Amy behind bars, in the season two premiere of the hit series for kids, tweens and families, “Good Luck Charlie.”

Shake It Up – “Show It Up” – Rocky and CeCe team up with Gunther and Tinka to take down the reigning high school talent show champs, overly peppy cheerleaders Candy and Randy. But when Randy and Candy decide to steal Gunther and Tinka for themselves, the girls have to figure out another way to win – which involves getting Ty to dance with them. Meanwhile, Flynn helps Deuce prepare to MC the talent show, convincing him he needs to kick off the show with an amazing opening act of his own, in a new episode of “Shake It Up,” SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 20 (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Friday, February 25th

Fish Hooks – “Fish Floaters” – A classic battle between the girls and the boys arise when the two suggested themes of the Homecoming Parade school float – Beauty vs. Radical, cannot be agreed upon by the two groups, leaving Principal Stickler to decide their fate.

“Dances with Wolf Fish” – Milo and Oscar get into a big fight over Milo’s messiness, and each decide to find a new roommate. Milo ends up living with some wolf fish that are just as messy as him, and Oscar ends up living with Principal Stickler, which does not end well.

This episode of Disney Channel’s “Fish Hooks,” airs FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 25 (8:30 p.m., ET/PT). “Dances with Wolf Fish” originally aired Friday, December 10.

Sunday, February 27th

Good Luck Charlie – “Something’s Fishy” – Teddy is miserable after taking a job working at an ocean-themed children’s party venue dressed as a sea creature, and discovers that her costume doesn’t seem to be the perfect fit. PJ continues to use Charlie as a girl magnet, but his plan backfires when his new crush only seems to be interested in Charlie. Meanwhile, Amy goes overboard practicing a new video game in order to beat Gabe, in a new episode of “Good Luck Charlie,” premiering SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 27 (8:00–8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Shake It Up – “Heat It Up” – When the heat goes out in Rocky’s apartment, CeCe invites Rocky and her family to move in with them, but the tight quarters quickly become too close for comfort. Meanwhile, Ty and Flynn build themselves a man cave to get away from it all, in a new episode of “Shake It Up,” SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 27 (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

New Disney Pilot: Austin & Ally

Now, it's important to point out that they're only filing a pilot for Austin & Ally at this point, which means that the series hasn't been picked up yet. However, given the fact that Disney never announces pilots I think it's safe to assume that they plan to follow through with this concept as the next new series after the previously announced ANT Farm. DISNEY CHANNEL CASTS COMEDY PILOT "AUSTIN & ALLY" After a nationwide search, three talented teens -- Ross Lynch, Laura Marano and Raini Rodriguez -- have been cast in the comedy pilot "Austin & Ally," to begin production next month in Hollywood. The pilot, in consideration for a Disney Channel series to premiere later this year, was created and executive-produced by Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert, whose credits include "Good Burger," "Keenan & Kel," Disney Channel's "Sonny With A Chance" and "JONAS." The multi-camera comedy follows the unlikely partnership between two polar opposites -- Austin, an extroverted musician/singer and Ally, a brilliant but shy songwriter -- and their two best friends, Trish and Dex. Unbeknownst to Ally, Austin and Dex "appropriate" one of her songs, record it, create a video and posts it on the internet, after which it and Austin become a local sensation. When Trish convinces Ally to tell the world she wrote the song, Austin begs her to write another hit for him. Instead, the two combine their talents to create a true musical tour-de-force. 14-year-old singer, dancer and actor Ross Lynch was born and raised in Littleton, Colorado, and has been seen in several national commercials, music videos and Disney XD's short-form series, "Moises Rules." He and his four siblings are members of the musical group R5. The part of Austin in "Austin & Ally" marks his first leading role. 15-year-old Laura Marano has the lead role of Ally. A singer and actress, the native Angeleno has been acting since she was age five, appearing in numerous commercials and series including "Without a Trace," "Back to You" and "The Sarah Silverman Program," and the animated features "Finding Nemo" and "Ice Age: The Meltdown." Raini Rodriguez, 17, is set to play Ally's best friend, Trish. A native of Bryan, Texas, Rodriguez had a recurring role on Disney XD's comedy "I'm in the Band" and a guest starring role on Disney Channel's "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody." Her feature film credits include "Paul Blart Mall Cop" and Disney Studio's upcoming "Prom." Her brother Rico stars in ABC-TV's "Modern Family." The role of Dex is yet to be cast.

Demi was spotted in Santa Monica yesterday and I have to say that she's looking really good. I for one really have missed her.

According to various sources, it sounds like Demi actually left treatment earlier this week but hadn't been spotted until Friday. Another souse possibly places her at the studio where they film Sonny and Wizards (I've been to both, as you may recall ;)) although that's still unconfirmed. Still, one way or another I would hope she's gonna get back to Sonny with a Chance within the next few weeks.

Lilo makes her return to “Stitch!”

Lilo returns to Stitch! the Japanese animated series! The new series has been controversial from the start because Lilo supposedly "ditched" Stitch for her new BF. On the upcoming season 3 episode "Zutto Saiko no Tomodachi", Lilo makes her way overseas for a reunion with Stitch. And Jess Winfield himself tells us that Save Disney Shows played a part in making it happen.
Hi Laramie, So the cat is out of the bag about the Lilo episode! I didn't respond to your last e-mail because I've known about it for some time, but I really couldn't really talk about it until it was "public." A return of Lilo, and explanation of where she is and what happened with her and Stitch, is something I've been pushing for since I first became involved in the project. I can be very persistent, and I got my wish. I haven't had much involvement yet with Season Three, but I did consult with Japanese team about this story. I'll warn you that not all of my suggestions were necessarily followed (I haven't seen the final episode yet); this is their show. But I was able to give some input, I know some details of the story, and I think you and your crew will find it compelling and controversial (in a good way). I hope you feel some pride in the progress of the Stitch story. It was fans' concern (back on TV Tome) about the "missing experiments" in the US series that led me to personally write "Snafu" to try and address them. And I sent copies of some "What happened to Lilo?" posts from your "shout-out" page to executives at Disney Channel here and in Japan to help convince them that fans desperately wanted Lilo to make an appearance in "Stitch!" Many congratulations to the Save our Stitch movement on this hard fought victory. I'd like to take this opportunity to share a few words from the leader of the movement.
This really doesn't change much for us, as far as out mission goes. It's still business as usual. Two big things that we should already be fighting for, and will continue to fight for: First, as you are well aware Disney has basically put every pre-2005 cartoon in the vault, so they can show repeat after repeat of the same sitcoms. Can you believe there are only 2 cartoons in active production?! Lilo & Stitch the Series needs to get back on air. Morning slot, it doesn't matter. It needs to come back. As do many others, such as Kim Possible, ADJL, etc. And second, the English translated Stitch! needs to be released in the US. While I'm glad for YouTube, I'm ticked (to say the least) that every other country except for us have been able to watch this series. Those are our main goals, and will continue to be. But of course we will still continue to fight for another season of Lilo & Stitch the Series, more DVDs, more merchandise etc. The usual stuff. Business as usual. But we can bask a bit too and enjoy this victory for Save Lilo & Stitch and Lilo & Stitch fans everywhere. Lilo is not a bad person. We always knew that. And hopefully everyone else will know now too. :-) Wayne

Disney Brings Phineas and Ferb to the Big Screen!

Disney executives announced today that the hit Disney Channel series Phineas and Ferb is being developed for a new theatrical movie. Disney's head of production and Tron: Legacy producer Sean Bailey is developing the project. The project is still in early stages of development, although it was said to be a combination of live-action and animated elements. No story details were given. Phineas and Ferb premiered on the Disney Channel in 2007 and has already spawned a spin-off series, Take Two with Phineas and Ferb, where the animated characters interview celebrities. The series launched in December and guests have included Seth Rogen, Taylor Swift, Jack Black, Neil Patrick Harris and Emma Roberts. A feature-length TV movie, Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension will air on the Disney Channel next summer. No production schedule for the theatrical Phineas and Ferb adventure was announced.

Miley Cyrus is almost done with "Hannah Montana Forever," but will her famous alter ego, Miley Stewart, follow her to Hollywood or go to college? This Sunday marks the finale of the Disney show that launched Cyrus to fame four years ago as a young teen. It's a role she has been trying to shed since 2009, when the 16-year-old sparked controversy with what was considered an age-inappropriate pole dance at the Teen Choice Awards. The newly released promo for "Kiss It All Goodbye" claims that Miley Stewart will make "the biggest decision ever" -- whether to go to college or make a movie. "Miley is not interested in doing any movies," her dad (Cyrus' real-life father, Billy Ray) says in the promo, which doesn't seem to sit well with Stewart, though the clip does not reveal whether she obeys her father or follows her dream. "I'm moving on, letting go," Cyrus sings on the soundtrack. Unfortunately, moving on to big screen roles in the likes of sorority comedy "So Undercover" may mean the 18-year-old singer-actress' career is in for a free fall. Hollywood.com's box office analyst Paul Dergarabedian recently told the Daily News that Cyrus' career has faltered from her attempts to separate herself from a "proven" Disney brand. "When she's herself or Hannah Montana, that's money in the bank" he said. "When the image becomes confusing to the audience, it's a problem." The "Hannah Montana Forever" finale airs on Sunday at 6 p.m. on the Disney channel.

Disney is clearly looking for a new High School Musical. And honestly, I doubt they will ever find anything that ever strikes people the way that original did. Not that they won’t have hit DCOMs in the future, but whatever the next big thing is, it will be good in it’s own way. They won’t get another HSM by doing the same thing.

Directed by award winning film director Patricia Riggen ("La Misma Luna") and executive-produced by Debra Martin Chase ("The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants," Disney Channel's "The Cheetah Girls" movies), the movie showcases a remarkably talented cast led by popular stars of Disney Channel hits: Bridgit Mendler ("Good Luck Charlie") as lead vocalist Olivia White, Adam Hicks (Disney XD's "Zeke and Luther") as keyboardist Wen Giford, Hayley Kiyoko ("Wizards of Waverly Place") as electric guitarist Stella Yamada, Naomi Scott (Disney Channel UK's "Life Bites") as bass guitarist Mohini, and newcomer Blake Michael (who landed the role via an open casting call) as percussionist Charlie Delgado. Also starring are Nick Roux ("The Suite Life on Deck") as Scott Pickett, Chris Brochu ("Soul Surfer") as Ray Beach, Tisha Campbell-Martin ("My Wife and Kids") as music teacher Miss Reznick and Christopher McDonald ("Boardwalk Empire") as Principal Brenigan. Eighteen year-old Adam Hicks has songwriting credits on three of the music tracks, marking the first time a cast member has written a song performed in a Disney Channel Original Movie. "Lemonade Mouth" introduces an unlikely ensemble of five students - Olivia, Wen, Stella, Mohini and Charlie – who, after meeting in detention, gradually realize their shared musical connection and belief that it's time for the students of Mesa High to stand up and be heard on things big and small (ranging from the school principal's exclusive support of the athletic programs to the removal of the popular organic lemonade from the cafeteria). Ultimately, as they open up to each other and form friendships, they start a band -- Lemonade Mouth --that soon resonates with students sidelined by the high school elite. However, not everyone in the school is ready to cheer them on, especially since the popular rock group Mudslide Crush is determined to maintain their headline status and win the coveted Rising Star music competition at Mesa High.
