Disney Channel November Highlights
October will bring us new episodes of A.N.T. Farm, Austin & Ally, Fish Hooks, Good Luck Charlie, Jessie, Phineas and Ferb, and Shake it Up. For whatever reason, there are no new episodes of Gravity Falls scheduled. This month also sees the formal addition of Dog With A Blog to the regular line up with four new episodes.

A.N.T. Farm Renewed for Season 3
Disney has picked up A.N.T. Farm for a third season, but with a fairly major twist. Is this a cost saving move to eliminate some frequent recurring guest stars, or a genuine investment to shake up and improve the show? We invite you to watch the 3rd season and judge for yourselves.
“A.N.T. Farm” takes an exciting turn in the third season when musical prodigy Chyna Parks and her friends, Olive Doyle and Fletcher Quimby plus Lexi Reed, who reveals her own prodigious talent, are accepted to a prestigious A.N.T. (Advanced Natural Talents) boarding school.

Girl Vs. Monster Ratings Report
Olivia Holt’s new DCOM premiered last month to a moderately impressive 4.9 rating, or as Disney chose to spin it: “Nearly 5 Million!” The film itself was very well done, and the special effects in particular were quite impressive for a DCOM. Unfortunately, that didn’t translate to a true ratings success. The true test, of course, will be how this film withstands the test of time and if it will become a Halloween classic or another “Mostly Ghostly.”
The premiere of Disney Channel’s “Girl Vs. Monster,” part of the Disney Channel Original Movie franchise, delivered 4.9 million Total Viewers on Friday (8:00 p.m.). The premiere also delivered 2.8 million Kids 2-11, 2.2 million Kids 6-11 and 1.9 million Tweens, ranking as Friday’s #1 TV telecast across target kid demographics. “Girl Vs. Monster” built each half-hour, peaking with 5.6 million Total Viewers and 3.2 million Kids 2-11. The movie led into the strong debut of the sitcom “Dog With a Blog” (9:40 p.m.), which delivered 4.5 million Total Viewers, 2.6 million Kids 2-11, 2.1 million Kids 6-11 and 1.7 million Tweens.

DJ’s Mix wins Make Your Mark
The other big event last month was the second annual Make Your Mark: Shake it Up Dance Off. (Try saying that three times fast!).
In a thrilling performance showcasing dance and gymnastic skills, the dance duo DJ’s Mix – 9-year-old Jaycee and 10-year-old Dylynn from Arizona – earned viewers’ votes to win Disney Channel’s “Make Your Mark: Shake It Up Dance Off,” the popular talent competition for kids.

Debby Ryan is Kim Possible!
This is the kind of story we love getting to cover here at SDS. Debby Ryan, star of Jessie and arguably the current face of the Disney Channel, dressed up as Kim Possible for Halloween. And did she ever pull it off! KP fans have been arguing about the possibility and feasibility of a live action KP movie for years, but it’s clear to see that if anyone could ever pull off Kim’s look, it’s Debby.
After SDS tweeted about her costume earlier this week, Debby herself sent the following tweet to Kim Possible co-creator Bob Schooley explaining her costume choice:

N.B.T. Concert at Hollywood and Highland
The stars were out in force this October to support Radio Disney’s N.B.T. (Next Big Thing) competition. A partial list of those in attendance at the kick off concert in Hollywood includes Bella Thorne, Zendaya, China McClain, Laura Marano, Kelli Berglund, Allisyn Ashley Arm, Sammi Hanratty, CoCo Jones, and Shealeigh.

Wreck It Ralph Premiere in Hollywood
Also in October was the world premiere of the new Disney Movie “Wreck it Ralph” at the El Capitan theater in Hollywood. Webmaster Greg was there to cover the event and saw a number of Disney girls and guys including Peyton List, Cameron Boyce, Karan Brar, Laura Marano, Calum Worthy, Stefanie Scott, Jake Short, Bella Thorne, Davis Cleveland, Roshon Fegan, Adam Irigoyen, and Lucas Gabriel. I told you that’s how Disney would spin it. Girl v. Monster was easily the best DCOM this year, despite the mediocre rating. DC’s end goal is to get Olivia on the main network.

“Radio Rebel” was much better, and I’m not even a Debby Ryan fan. Trying to remember what else was in this year, “Frenemies” tanked in the ratings but was no better/worse than “Girl v. Monster” “Let it Shine” stank big time but seemed to hit it big in the ratings.
