Disney Channel October Highlights
October will bring us new episodes of A.N.T. Farm, Austin & Ally, Fish Hooks, Good Luck Charlie, Gravity Falls, Jessie, Phineas and Ferb, and Shake it Up. October will also feature two big premieres with the long awaited Halloween DCOM Girl Vs. Monster staring Olivia Holt and the new series Dog With A Blog with G. Hannelius, but more on that later in this newsletter.

New Series: Dog with a Blog
The new family comedy Dog with a Blog premieres this month on Friday October 12th. If you don’t feel like waiting for the official premiere on the 12th, you can download the premiere episode FREE from iTunes right now! It won’t be a runaway hit, but it is a solid family comedy that will likely be with us for three to four seasons.
Dogs rule in Disney Channel’s “Dog With A Blog,” a comedy series about a blended family and their talking and blogging dog, premiering FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12 (9:40 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. The series, told from a canine point of view, follows the newly adopted dog Stan, step-siblings, Tyler, Avery and Chloe, and their parents Bennett and Ellen, as they adjust to life as a new family. “Dog With A Blog” follows the premiere of the Disney Channel Original Movie “Girl Vs. Monster” (8:00 p.m., ET/PT).

New Halloween DCOM: Girl vs. Monster
Olivia Holt’s new Halloween DCOM Girl vs. Monster premieres on Friday October 12th, as previously mentioned. Disney has been been heavily promoting this movie and we certainly hope it lives up to the hype!
The adventure begins as Skylar, a fearless teenager with a powerful singing voice, prepares for the ultimate Halloween bash with her best friends, Henry and Sadie. However, the plan for Skylar to sing at the party – with rock band cutie Ryan Dean – is crushed when her parents make her stay home. When she attempts to sneak out of the house, she accidentally unleashes a monster – Deimata – who is determined to change the fate of Skylar and her family forever. As Skylar’s world is turned upside down, she learns that her parents have been keeping a big secret – that she comes from a long line of monster hunters.

Wizards of Waverly Place Hour Long Special
Very exciting news! Disney has announced production on a one hour Wizards of Waverly Place special for next year! This is not only good news for Wizards fans that want to see more, but it also shows a willingness on Disney’s part to continue popular franchises with an occasional special. If the Wizards special does well, what else could be in the future of DC?
The storyline takes the Russo family and friends to Tuscany, Italy, to meet their long lost relatives… but when Alex (Gomez) tries to prove she’s more than a seemingly carefree young Wizard, she inadvertently conjures a spell that creates a Good Alex and an Evil Alex. When Evil Alex gets roped into a charming young wizard’s foreboding plan to take over the world, Good Alex must find a way to save her family and humankind, which leads to a monumental battle between the two versions of herself – all atop the Tower of Pisa.

Bridgit Mendler – Extrapalooza
In last month’s newsletter we told you about Bridgit Mendler’s new single “Ready or Not.” Well, last month our very own Webmaster Greg went to see Bridgit at the Grove in LA. She was there to promote the new song and you can read the full report and watch the video on the DC Fans Blog.
