Disney Channel August 2012 Highlights

Sorry I’m a little late with the list of new episodes this month. It’s been a crazy week.

We have a good mix of all the usual shows with ANT Farm, Good Luck Charlie, Jessie, and My Baby Sitter’s a Vampire all airing th usual two new episodes. Strangely Austin & Ally is only getting one new episode for the second month in a row. Meanwhile, Shake it Up and Phineas and Ferb both have end of summer specials. There’s no “back to school” DCOM this year, so I think they’re trying to use the SIU multi-episode and P&F special to fill that void.

  1. Greg,

While it’s true there’s no back to school DCOM this year I’d like to remind everone that there will be an all new Halloween DCOM this year staring Olivia Holt from DxD’s “Kickin’ It”. 😀

  2. Does it look like Disney chan is in trouble? commercial breaks dont have that many advertisers, commercials seem mostly whats on disney and the other time fillers, no advertisers, no shows, seems these days disney wont let go of bad shows, and hangs on to them with dear life, I could of thought many new things for wizards of waverly to continue, ahhhh they just dont write them like that any more

  3. biker mike,

I can assure you Disney is NOT in trouble. The stock keeps rising and besides John Carter their films always pull in the big money. Attendance at theme parks is also up this year even though I don’t know how families still manage to choke up the ABSURD amount of cash it takes to get into them.

  4. They “choke up” the cash because it’s been established as true that Disneyland and Disney World are “must see” vacation destinations, especially for children. I would imagine the same is true for the European and Asian versions of Disneyland.

  5. I am asking is disney channel itself in trouble, this would be separate from disney land and disney world as a division on it’s own, seems they don’t have that many advertisers on the channels, station breaks are mostly fillers and ads for other shows, Disney channel cant continue without commercial revenues, granted they charge cable and satellite companies to carry them, but thats not enough revenue, although I ‘d rather have commercial free shows

  6. I wish they had story lines lk hannah montana & wizards of waverly place bc disney channel’s shows r getting boring except shake it up & jessie is ok does any1 agree

  7. The Disney channel shows on now are no where as good as the one they se to my Daughter Lillian and my son Haydan and my Niece Sabrena say Disney channels shows have changed way to much they still like the shows but miss the old ones I agree and I’m 28

  8. and it is looking like disney will have less competition, as nick appears to be in a melt down, last nite 8/10/12, 8:30 pm , on directv, the second most tv show being watched in the nation was “Victorious” second only to NFL preseason, thats more than the Olympics! and Nick is not renewing the show,, as seen if ya click that active button on the remote
