The 1st Annual DC Fans Awards (Nominations)

Posted on May 9, 2009

Disney Channel Fans,

I am proud to announce the nominations phase for the first ever DC Fans awards!

This contest will let you, the readers, chose your favorite DC actor and actress. And if they happen to make a cute couple, even better! 🙂

But before we get to the voting, it’s time for the nominations. And listen up, ’cause there are some limits on whom can be nominated.

To be eligible, the actor or actress being nominated must be a recurring character on a Disney Channel Original Series or play a major role in a Disney Channel Original Movie. We will define “recurring character” as any character appearing in three or more episodes of any single DCOS, as documented by IMDb. We will define “major character” as any character appearing on the first page of actors of any single DCOM, as documented by IMDb.

Each user may nominate two people by posting a comment on this post. You may nominate two girls, a guy and a girl, or two guys. As DC stars are nominated, I will add them to the official list at the end of this post. Once an star has been nominated, you may not renominate them or anything like that.

And as a special bonus, the person or persons who nominate the two eventual winners of the contest, will receive a special DC fans themed prize.

Nominations are due in by 12:01 Pacific time next Saturday morning (05/16/09). Details about the next stage of the competition will be posted soon after.

And because it’s my game, I think I’ve earned the right to first nominations and I choose Selena Gomez and David Henrie, both of Wizards of Waverly Place.

I have some guesses on whom will be nominated next, and I’m anxious to see if I’m right. 😉

  1. I nominate Ashley Tisdale from The Suite Life and High School Musical.
And my second choose is Jason Dolley from Cory In The House!, Read It and Weep, Minutemen, and Hatching Pete. Don’t know why but I like him anyway…

  2. And there’s the Ashley nom. I knew she’d get it, but I thought someone else would get it first.

And I didn’t know Jason Dolley was in Read It and Weep. I mean, I saw the movie, so I just don’t remember.

  3. I didn’t know it, too, I’ve looked it up in Wikipedia^^
And a general question: What’s with animated series? Could some one nominate John DiMaggio, Dan Povenmire, Christy Carlson Romano or some one else?

  4. Jeez Greg, you beat me to the punch! I was gonna pick Selena and David anyways (I am a HUGE shipper of Dalena off screen)! So yeah, there’s my nominations!

  7. Wikipedia? Hardly a reputable source.

And yes, animated series do qualify. Live-action stars have a better chance of winning, IMO, but everyone is eligible.

Sara, sorry about beating you to the punch. But I wanted to get the ball rolling right. 😉

Kristi, there it it! I was waiting for the Emily nom. I honestly thought it would be first with all the Emily fans around here.

Melvin, there’s two I wasn’t sure if I’d see or not. Cool.

  8. I nominate Miley Cyrus from Hannah Montana and Hannah MJontana: The Movie and Cole Sprouse from The Suite Life of Zack & Cody/on Deck.

  9. And there’s the Miley nom. Only one more name I expect to see nominated now.

  11. And there’s the Demi nomination. I’m surprised it took that long.

And a Jonas. I was wondering which one would get nominated first.

  13. Beat me to it, I’d nominate Selena twice if I could, but I can’t.

My nominations are Debby Ryan on Suite Life on Deck, and…drumroll…. I DON’T KNOW

    Sorry, just one nomination.

Also, do you get the prize if Selena or David (OR BOTH!) win? Is that why you picked them? Maybe there isn’t a prize? Hmmm…

  14. Bill, nice picks.

bubbleface, you can nominate another girl if you would like.

And yes, there is a prize. I actually have a couple things set aside depending on who wins.

And what happens if Sel or David win?I hadn’t really thought about that. Maybe all of you should get me something. 😛

  15. I think that I’ll just nominate
    ———————-
    Girl-
Debby Ryan-from -“THE SUITE LIFE ON DECK”

    &

    Boy-
Dylan Sprouse-from-“The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” and
    “The Suite Life On Deck”
    ***********************************
    I know that
    DEBBY RYAN & Cole Sprouse
    are the pair in
    “The Suite Life On Deck”
    NO OFFENSE=NO OFFENSE
but I just dont think that they are so good together,so maybe I thought that Dylan Sprouse may be a good pair with Ms.Debby Ryan.

    =+=NO OFFENSE=+=NO OFFENSE=+=NO OFFENSE OK=+=NO OFFENSE OK=+=NO OFFENSE OK=+=

  16. ALwAyzbEmyBABy, Debby and Dylan have both already been nominated. Feel free to make two other nominations if you would like. Otherwise, stick around for the voting phase. 🙂

  17. I look down the list of names under the “Categories” list to the right of this text-entry box and I’m surprised that there are a few females who haven’t been nominated (I’m thinking from programs like “Cow Belles,” “Sonny With A Chance” and “Hatching Pete”). And I can think of a few guys, too (hint: “Hannah Montana,” “Dadnapped”). … but I’m not adding any nominations …

  18. Selena Gomez & Selena Gomez is all i have to say.
    or how about Gwen.
    or Makayla.
    or Mary.
or… oh what was the name of the mayors daughter in “Horton…”?
or the new movie “Romulus and Reemus”?…
