Disney Channel July Highlights

July is going to be a busy month with 2-3 new episodes of A.N.T. Farm, Austin & Ally, Fish Hooks, Good Luck Charlie, Gravity Falls, Jessie, My Babysitter’s a Vampire, Phineas and Ferb, and Shake It Up. Not to mention the premiere of Code 9… but more on that later.

Get ready for Code: 9

Well, this is certainly an interesting idea for a new show. A hidden camera, a sense of humor and the help of Hollywood’s top special effects artists are all kids and their families need to pull the ultimate good-natured prank on their unsuspecting mom or dad in “Code: 9,” a new hidden camera reality series. Time will tell how well they pull it off.

Shake It Up Renewed for a Third Season

Shake It Up has been renewed for a third season; hardly a surprise considering that the series has consistently been one of DC’s currently highest rated shows.

“Shake It Up” premiered in November 2010, ranked as the #1 series of 2011 among Tweens 9-14 and for second quarter 2012-to-date, is the #1 TV series among Kids 2-11 (2.0 million/4.9 rating) and Kids 6-11 (1.6 million/6.7 rating) [Source: NTI, U.S. ratings, most current, as dated]. Production on the third season will begin this summer.

Good Luck Charlie – It’s a Boy!

Well, the wait is over and the Good Luck Charlie moment we’ve all been waiting for not only arrived this past month, but it brought in an amazing 7.5 million rating! For comparison, that’s 0.6 more than the GLC movie!

The Duncan family welcomed a baby boy — and results were revealed from a viewer poll that determined the baby’s name – ‘Toby Duncan.’ The parents decide upon a middle name, one inspired by popular culture, in the episode’s tongue-in-cheek epilogue.

Let It Shine Premieres June 15th

On the subject if ratings, the newest DCOM Let It Shine pulled an impressive 5.7 making it the highest rated DCOM of the year. It was, however, totally pummeled by the Good Luck Charlie special’s 7.5 million as mentioned above..

5.7 million Total Viewers gave ‘cred’ to Friday’s premiere of the kid-driven, family inclusive “Let It Shine” (8:00 p.m.), which also now ranks as the year’s #1 TV movie across all core kid demographics with its strong delivery of 3.0 million Kids 2-11, 2.6 million Kids 6-11, 2.3 million Tweens, plus 1.2 million Adults 18-49.

Kim Possible 10th Anniversary Party

We’ve been updating you for months, and the team at Save Disney Shows is proud to announce that the Kim Possible 10th Anniversary Party was a resounding success. Our VIP guest panel included Kurt Weldon (Writer / Line Producer),
Tracy Berna (Writer),
Brian Swenlin (Writer / Story Editor),
Chris Bailey(Producer / Director),
Nicole Dubuc (Writer), and
Thomas Hart (Writer / Story Editor). In addition to the VIP panel there were exclusive screenings, a behind the scenes look at the KP World Showcase adventure, and lets not forget about the cake!

Welcome to Cars Land at Disney’s California Adventure

You’ve probably seen the new Disney 365 promo about the opening of Cars Land at Disney’s California Adventure part in California. Well, Webmaster Greg went this past month to check it out and the new land certainly does live up to the hype. You’ll find full ride videos from all three new attractions and over 100 photos of the new land over on the Socal Disney Blog.

Oh, and SDS Webmaster Greg also happened to run into Nickelodeon star Ariana Grande while in line for the new Radiator Springs Racers ride. You can read all about that on the Nick Girls Blog.
