Happy Independence Day

I would like to take a moment this morning, on the fourth day of July, to wish you all a happy Independence Day.

This day is about more than fireworks and barbeques. It’s more than my country’s birthday, it’s a celebration of the Declaration of Independence and the fundimental principals that would guide this great country for more than two decades.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

If you haven’t ever read the Declaration in it’s entirety, you really should. You can find the full text of the Declaration of Independence on the National Archives website. It’s not that long, don’t worry. 🙂

One more thing I wanted to share. This new video of the Voices of Liberty show at Disneyland. It’s a phenomenal show and very appropriate for today.
