February Disney Channel Highlights
This month kicks off with a new Wizards of Waverly Place three part special, “Wizards vs. Angels.”Later in the month, there are a couple new Good Luck Charlie (Season Two!) and Shake it Up episodes. And as usual, a bunch of random Fish Hooks episodes scattered about. Meanwhile, Hannah Montana is finished and The Suite Life on Deck is almost finished with it’s run. Sonny with a Chance has just begun filming Season 3 which should begin airing later this year (more on that below).

Lilo Returns to “Stitch!”
Lilo returns to Stitch! the Japanese animated series! The new series has been controversial from the start because Lilo supposedly “ditched” Stitch for her new BF. On the upcoming season 3 episode “Zutto Saiko no Tomodachi”, Lilo makes her way overseas for a reunion with Stitch. And Jess Winfield himself tells us that Save Disney Shows played a part in making it happen!

Disney Brings Phineas and Ferb to the Big Screen!
Disney executives announced today that the hit Disney Channel series Phineas and Ferb is being developed for a new theatrical movie. Disney’s head of production and Tron: Legacy producer Sean Bailey is developing the project.
The project is still in early stages of development, although it was said to be a combination of live-action and animated elements. No story details were given.

Sonny With A Chance Season 3
By now, most people should already know that Camp Rock & Sonny with a Chance star Demi Lovato is out of treatment and back in LA. With any luck, she should be getting back to work on Sonny within the next few weeks. Meanwhile, the taping for the first episode of Season 3 “So Random Style” took place this past Tuesday February 1st in Hollywood without Demi present.

New DCOM: Lemonade Mouth
Disney is clearly hoping to find a new High School Musical…
Themes of believing in yourself, following your dreams, celebrating family and staying true to yourself are explored in the triumphant, music-driven “Lemonade Mouth,” a Disney Channel Original Movie based on the book of the same name, set to premiere FRIDAY, MARCH 25 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
Geared towards kids, tweens and families, “Lemonade Mouth” tells the story of how a powerhouse band came to be after five uncelebrated students with a passion for music find each other and ultimately become the voice of their generation.

Robin Agranoff promoted at DC Programming
Robin Agranoff has been promoted to vice president, Programming, Disney Channels, it was announced [this month] by Paul DeBenedittis, senior vice president, Programming Strategy, Disney Channels Worldwide, to whom she will report. She continues to be responsible for managing programming planning and scheduling for ratings leader Disney Channel, its learning-focused block for preschoolers, Playhouse Disney (soon to be rebranded Disney Junior) and ABC Kids.

2011 People’s Choice Awards
Disney star Selena Gomez made a splash with her amazing performance and her big win at the People’s Choice Awards this past month.

SLOD is almost finished? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! How am I going to get my weekly fix of “my girl” Debby Ryan. *cries* Wait, I have an idea for a new show that I can pitch to DC. I’m going to call it “Suite Life on Campus”. Mr. Tipton realized that London is too stupid to go to college so he buys her one. Mr. Moseby becomes an administrator and he gets to discipline Z&C who are f*cking up all the time. Meanwhile Bailey becomes a cheerleader so she can get a scholarship because her parents can’t afford to pay for her college. Oh sh*t, wait a minute. That’s Hellcats. 🙁 Man, I’d give almost anything to see Debby in a mini skirt like Aly wears in Hellcats. 🙂
LOL. I’d also love to see Debby in one of Marti’s outfits. 😉
Hell, we even got to see Aly in just her bra thanks to Hellcats. 😀
But yeah, Suite Life is wrapping up. Three episodes and the movie. Then we’re done. And I don’t see Debby gettin’ a lot of serious movie offers like Miley or Selena get.
I hate to say it, but Debby’s acting career is probably just about over unless she gets a really lucky breakout role. *fingers crossed*
Greg, while it pains me to admit this I am in 100% agreement with you. As much as I’ve been crushing on Debby I realize that her acting talents are quite limited and her singing . . . well, quite frankly she totally sucks as a singer. 🙁 If DC doesn’t have anything else in mind for her then she’ll probably wind up like that chick who plays Addison on SLOD (the one with the strange looking forehead) who is now doing stupid commercials for Tostino’s Pizza Rolls. Debby if you read this please don’t hate me for saying you don’t sing well. I’m just being honest like Simon on American Idol used to do. I still love you sweety. 🙂
You don’t like Debby’s voice? I don’t think she’s done anything Grammy worthy, but she has a nice voice.
Hi Greg, I really don’t like Debby’s singing voice (I love her speaking voice though). Her pitch is “OK” but almost anyone’s can be good the in the studio these days with software like Pro Tools available but her tone is annoying and you can’t improve on that electronically. Also her dynamics and phrasing are terrible. As you can tell I have a little expertise in this field. 😉
I’m not sayin’ it’s impossible, I’ll admit that I didn’t think much of Sel’s voice either but DC has invested a lot in her with “The Scene” and she has improved greatly. I don’t think Sel will ever be involved in Grammy material either but her voice is now better than average.
Demi is > > > by far < < < the best vocalist to come out of DC since Raven. Miley is good but not spectacular and Ashley Tisdale has a pleasant voice and even a nice stage presence as long as she keeps her "chicken legs" under cover – LOL! 😉
There’s no denying Demi’s amazing vocal talent.
I still don’t think Debby’s half bad though. If she worked with some experts I think she could put out one hell of a debut album. I think she could go Gold if she had Disney support behind her.
