The movie script has been turned into ABCF for consideration, and it’s critically important that we keep up the pressure! What’s up with Bucket & Skinner’s Epic Adventures?
This is Save Disney Shows, but we wanted to take a moment to talk about Nick’s original series Bucket & Skinner‘s Epic Adventures. This sitcom premiered on Nickelodeon on July 1, 2011. They showed the first half of the first season ending in October 2011. Then after an unusual five-month hiatus, the second half went on to premiere on March 17, 2012. The show has received very little publicity from the network, and many of the episodes have only been aired once! Is Nick deliberately trying to kill their own show? It certainly looks that way…

A.N.T. Farm Season Two Premiere
The second season premiere of the hit comedy series “A.N.T. Farm,” starring China Anne McClain, [premiered] with back-to-back episodes FRIDAY, JUNE 1 on Disney Channel. In “creative consultANT” (8:00 p.m. ET/PT), Chyna, Olive and Fletcher roll out the red carpet for teen movie sensation Sequoia Jones, played by “Shake It Up” star Zendaya, who is shadowing Chyna for a movie role … In “infANT” (8:30 p.m. ET/PT), a baby, thought to be a prodigy, is left in the care of the A.N.T.s and chaos ensues as Chyna, Olive and Fletcher try to uncover the baby’s prodigal aptitude.
In 2011, “A.N.T. Farm” ranked as the #1 series across all television in Kids 6-11 and #2 in Tweens 9-14.

Gravity Falls Premieres This Month
Well… we guess it’s good that Disney is putting effort into developing new animated shows. But why did it have to be this show? It just looks so… strangely bizarre. Of course, promos can be misleading so we’ll keep an open mind.
Gravity Falls is just west of weird, slightly east of eerie and always north of normal, in a fresh new comedy series that follows city kids and twins Dipper and Mabel Pines who are sent to spend the summer with their eccentric Great Uncle Stan (aka Grunkle Stan) who runs a tourist trap called The Mystery Shack in a remote northwestern town where nothing is what it seems. There are creatures in the forest, there are monsters in the lake and even time traveling adventures. The comedy, produced by Disney Television Animation, has a special preview FRIDAY, JUNE 15 (9:55 p.m., ET/PT) and premieres FRIDAY, JUNE 29 (9:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Let It Shine Premieres June 15th
Just a reminder to watch for Coco Jones’s new DCOM Let It Shine this month. It doesn’t look all that impressive, but we have been surprised by DCOMs before – especially the musical DCOMs!
A rousing, modern day story inspired by the ghostwritten love letters of Cyrano de Bergerac, “Let it Shine” is set in the world of hip-hop, rap and gospel music and expresses the importance of staying true to oneself. Geared towards kids, tweens and families, the story follows a shy, talented musician who pens romantic hip-hop verses only to stand idly by as they’re delivered to the girl of his dreams by a proxy, his best friend. The movie premieres June 15, 2012 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT)

Alan Horn Named Chairman of the Disney Studios
Big news out of Burbank! Disney CEO Bob Iger has named Alan Horn (most recently of Warner Bros. Entertainment) as the new Chairman of The Walt Disney Studios. He looks to be a very impressive choice.
“Alan not only has an incredible wealth of knowledge and experience in the business, he has a true appreciation of movie making as both an art and a business,” said Iger. “He’s earned the respect of the industry for driving tremendous, sustained creative and financial success, and is also known and admired for his impeccable taste and integrity. He brings all of this to his new role leading our studio group, and I truly look forward to working with him.”

What’s new at the Disneyland Resort…
Big changes are happening at the Disney Theme parks in California! The Carthay Circle theater and fountain have been revealed. The Mad T Party has soft opened, Cars Land is doing paid previews, the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain has soft opened, and new bobsleds are installed on the Matterhorn. Be sure to visit after June 15th to see all the new additions.

A.N.T. Farm Meet and Greet in San Diego
On the topic of A.N.T. Farm, Webmaster Greg took a trip down to the La Costa Resort and Spa in San Diego to see two of the cast members of the show, Allie De Berry and Sierra McCormick. He wasn’t able to get any spoilers on the new season, but he did make sure to give them both a Save Disney Shows bracelet!
