The coming of the new year marks an important time for us to remember the many friends who make our lives a pleasure all year long and I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for your friendship and support in 2011.
May the closeness of friends and the comfort of home,
renew your spirits in the New Year.
And may you have the gift of faith, the blessing of hope
and the peace of His love both now and always.
Time for a bit of a blast from the past, who here remebers Lauren Frost & Margo Harshman from Even Stevens? Lauren played Ren’s slightly ditsy friend Ruby and the lovely Margo played Tawny, Louis’s friend and eventual love interest. Well, these two talented girls recently formed a band called Violet Hour and they put on a show at El Cid in LA on 9/27/11.
And I’m sure it will be of no surprise to frequent readers that I was there. Wait, here’s a picture to prove it.
Okay, so obviously I had a few moments to meet them after their set. They’re both really nice and Margo in particular was just amazing. She even hugged me, and I just about died. xD
Anyway, I had a great time and I’m glad I was able to go. Here’s some video of them performing…
… the production values were obviously abit lacking (especially when compared to Demi’s show last week) but I was still quite impressed. They had a smoothe sound and it was a fun time.
There are a lot more videos of the girls up on my youtube page if you’re interested.
BTW, if you’re interested in my minute to minute adventures you might want to follow me on my events twitter @socaldisney. And if you’re interested in learning more about Violet Hour, you can find them on twitter and facebook.
Fair warning, this is going to be a long post so if you don’t wanna hear me ramble on about how much I love Demi feel free to stop reading now. Well… at least look at the pictures.
Last friday (9/23/11) was Demi Lovato’s second concert since leaving treatment earlier this year. It was in Los Angeles at Club Nokia (LA Live) and I was there.
I got there five hours early and eventually end up in the second row of General Admission (it was standing room only). So yeah… it was totally worth it. =] Here’s a view of the line I was in…
… and here’s part of the “regular” line down on the grownd floor (behind me).
I’m not exactly sure why, but the first 250 of us who got there were offered eary admission to the venue through the VIP loungue. I wasn’t gonna complain. BTW, here’s what the VIP lounge looks like…
As for the actual show, well, simply put it was one of the most amazing shows I have ever seen. I’ve seen Demi before (Three times prior in concert and once filming Sonny) so I had no doubts that she was bring the goods. But what I didn’t expect was to be nearly as close as I was and the production values were outstanding – especially consdiering it was a two show tour. … I have a feeling she may be doing more.
And now for the video part of our presentation. (My comments FOLLOW each video.)
All Night Long
Got Dynamite
Did you notice the audio problem at the begining of the song? Her hair got all in her mic or something. Anyway, so we know she really was singing.
Hands Up
That dancer was all over her! How can I get that job? LOL
Catch Me & Don’t Forget
Who’s That Boy
So much dirrrrty dannnnncing. And I love it, she’s really grown up and embraced her sexyness without being slutty.
You’re My Only Shorty
I love this song so much. I’m really not sure why, but I do.
My Love Is Like a Star
Get Back, Here we Go Again, and La La Land

A Message to Her Fans (Please Watch)
I just wanted to say that I found this moment very touching. You could feel the emotion in her voice and and I’m not afraid to admit I teared up a little. I didn’t always support her and I really felt bad for ever doubting her. Well, I won’t be making that mistake again. #ProudLovatic

Remember December(OMG)
I WAS SO CLOSE! And Nearly Killed. xD So Demi came back out and preformed “Remember December” on a small stage in front of the sound booth. I happened to be right next to it and was nearly knocked down by all the other fans near me who wanted to be closer. So my apologies about the shakey camera work… it was the best I could manage while fighting to not be trampled. xD
Unbroken
Last song of the night. Sorry about that girl who kept feeling the need to hold her camera up way over her head. I couldn’t shoot over her, and had to go to the side and even between her arms. xD
And… that pretty much covers it. It really was an amazing night and I am so glad that I was able to go. Oh, and I heard that Selena and Justin were up in the VIP booth. I didn’t actually see them, but it doesn’t surprise me one bit. Of the last threee Demi concerts I’ve been to, Selena was at two of them.
Alright, now this is fun. This is my first split post between both main blogs, DC Fans and Nick Girls. But first, some background.
I was at the LA County fair day before yesterday (9/17/11) to see the lovely and talented Victoria Justice in concert. But this post isn’t about Vic, you need to head over to Nick Girls Blog for that story.
As you can see, Roshon Fegan was there too. And the girls smaped him good as soon as they spoted him!
He and Allisyn Ashley Arm were there in support of opening act “Kicking Daisies.” They even introduced them on stage!
Not the best pic I’m afraid, but the lighting was terible. I did get some good video of “Kicking Daisies” though.
I can see why Allisyn likes them so much, they’re quite talented kids.
Oh, and Shane Harper (Spencer from Good Luck Charlie) was there doing the singing thing too earlier in the day over at the Coke stage.
… I just thought I’d mention that. Not that any of you care. xD
Sorry for the delay in getting this post up. I know I said Monday, but I’ve been having computer problems and couldn’t get anything new posted.
Sunday, the third and final day of the 2011 D23 Expo was just as amazing as the first two days. How many people can say they’ve seen Wilmer Valderrama hangin’ out with Handy Manny? LOL
After that photo op, we got in line for the Pair of Kings signing.
I was there to see Kelsey Chow again (obviously). I had gotten her autograph at the filming, but it’s faint ’cause her pin was dying. So when I saw her I was like “I hope your pen works this time” and she was like “Huh- OH! I remember you! =D” And then the Disney employee pushed me along for holding up the line. Of course, SHE was talking TO ME so how was that my fault? LOL
I was also quite shocked to see that Mitchel Musso himself showed up! He wasn’t scheduled to attend and I had never met him before.
And have a look at this guy with the “I <3 Kelsey Chow” shirt! Lucky bastard… why didn’t I think of that? LOL I actually ended up right next to him in the “Shake it Up” line. He’s a nice kid.
EDIT/NOTE: I’ve replaced the original picture below with his “professional” posed photo from the expo. If you want to see my original pic click here. There’s also a video. Again, why wasn’t I this smart? LOLz
Speaking of the Shake it Up line, what a mess. They didn’t know where to put everyone and it was a pretty big mess overall. The line was closed by 2pm… if not sooner.
Now as frequent readers will remember, I’ve met Bella and Zendaya before. It was Caroline Sunshine that I really wanted to meet.
And yeah, meet her I did. I even had a few moments to tell her about my fansite and how excited I was to finally meet her.
I didn’t really have anything to say to Zendaya… but I did get a solo autograph of her. =]
As for Bella, I didn’t have anything rehearsed so I simply told her that I couldn’t even begin to tell her how amazing she is.
She was like “Aww, thank you sir” … as if I needed to be reminded how she’s WAY too young for me. LOL. Here’s the autograph.
But that’s not all. Once we finished with the cast we went down in front of the stage to take a few more pics. I got some great shots of Bella and Zendaya.
And by absolute sure luck, I ended up standing against the side of the stage when they finished the signing and the cast came to the front to sign a few more autographs for the crowd! Bella was right in front of me, look!
My friend Anika who was right next to me even got a pic with Zendaya!
I was hoping Caroline would come over to our side, but she didn’t make it beyond mid stage before the CMs escorted her off the stage.
She was the last to leave, but we still had one more surprise in store before we left. About 30 minutes after the event wrapped up, I spotted Roshan Fegan and Anika got a great picture with him too.
And that my friends, was the last day of the 2011 D23 expo. It was somethin’ else, I’ll tell you that. Hope to see you all there in 2013.
Friday was a pretty good day. The cast of So Random including Tiffany Thornton, Sterling Knight, Doug Brochou, Allisyn Ashley Arm, Shayne Topp, Matthew Scott Montgomery, and Damien Haas.
Doesn’t Tiff look pretty? (As always. xD )
Missing where Brandon Smith and Audrey Whitby. I really wanted to meet her. Oh well. I was able to finish my existing Sonny with a Chance autograph though – I just needed Sterling and Doug. =]
I also got my So Random Main cast autographs…
… and another of the “new” Randoms.
I had also wanted to see the Lemonade Mouth cast, Hayley Kiyoko in particular, but they cut the line before I got there. Damn.
You can click any pic for a larger version (as usual) and be sure to visit SoCal Disney on Monday for more in-depth analysis of the D23 Expo (not just DC) and follow @socaldisney on twitter for live news from the Expo floor.

Disney Channel August Highlights
It’s the start of a new month and we have your first look at the month ahead for Disney Channel’s new programming.
The programming highlights include new episodes of A.N.T. Farm, Fish Hooks, Good Luck Charlie, Phineas and Ferb, PrankStars, So Random, and Wizards of Waverly Place. No Shake it Up, however.
Debby Ryan’s new show Jessie filmed it’s first episode back on Friday, June 17th 2011 at Hollywood Center Studios. In the new series, Debby plays recent HS graduate Jessie who was raised in rural Texas. She wants to be a singer/actress and comes to New York to chase that dream. She ends up as a live in nanny to four kids, three of whom are adopted from all over the world. The parents are like “Brangelina” with the mom an ex-model and the dad having a movie background. Jessie quickly finds herself hired and on the job.
It’s very much unlike any show Disney has ever ordered for DC. If it succeeds it could be a major game changer for the future of the network. If it fails, well, expect more shows built on the HM formula for a loooong time. The show is expected to premiere in the fall. We will of course continue to keep you updated.
Big news! Disney has announced not only a general overview of the Disney channel stars that will be at the expo, but they have also laid out the complete schedule for the signings!
Special guests include Jason Dolley, Leigh-Allyn Baker and Bradley Steven Perry, Adam Hicks, Hayley Kiyoko, Chris Brochu, Tiffany Thornton, Sterling Knight, Doug Brochu, Allisyn Ashley Arm, Alyson Stoner, Leo Howard, Olivia Holt, Chelsea Kane, Kyle Massey, China Anne McClain, Jake Short, Sierra McCormick, Stefanie Scott, Doc Shaw, Kelsey Chow, Bella Thorne, Zendaya, Davis Cleveland, Roshon Fegan, Adam Irigoyen, Kenton Duty and Caroline Sunshine.
And that’s only a partial list! For the full list and schedule visit the SoCal Disney blog at the link below. We will be using the SoCal Disney site to report on the D23 Expo as it approaches later this month.
Well… this didn’t take long. Lemonade Mouth was a pretty big hit, but a sequel already? They must want to strike while the iron is hot. “Lemonade Mouth 2″ will reunite fans with Olivia, Wen, Stella, Mohini and Charlie, and feature all-new music.
The hit buddy comedy series set in the world of a tween dance show, “Shake It Up, Chicago!,” has
generated development plans for a DCOM debut. The comedy series features two high-spirited characters,
best friends CeCe Jones and Raquel “Rocky” Blue… Between learning
a wide range of new dance styles, navigating the backstage antics at the show (especially with their
rivals Tinka and Gunther) and their newfound social status at school, the girls experience new and fun

KIM POSSIBLE FAN CONVENTION 2012: WHAT’S THE SITCH?
On July 15, a gentleman started positing on various Kim Possible fan sites across the Internet. His one question – was anyone interested – seriously interested – in having a fan celebration to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Kim Possible.
The idea isn’t without precedent – the Disney animated show GARGOYLES had a 13-year run of fan gatherings in different spots around the country. But there are challenges: KP fans had never successfully organized a fan gathering during the run of the show, the show ended it’s original broadcast run in 2007, it is currently not being shown in reruns anywhere in the US, and the last previous online effort surrounding the show left fans feeling bitter about the owner of the show, The Walt Disney Company.
On July 21, a Facebook page appeared online: KIM POSSIBLE FAN CONVENTION 2012. The goal was simple. Find 100 serious KP fans willing to indicate they liked the idea of such an event. It they stepped forward, then work would commence on building the event from idea into reality.
My name is Donald Speirs. I’m the gentleman with that idea, and today I’m happy to announce that we have reached and shattered that goal. As of August 1st, we start the planning stages for a Kim Possible Fan Convention 2012.
The goal of the event is simple. We’re going to celebrate the creative team that came together and gave us the first great heroine of the 21st century. We’ll have fun sharing Kim stuff. And this will be a fan convention, so we will be taking in ideas on what things should be at such a gathering.
We’re in the very early planning stages – but you’re in for a treat. For one thing, it’s not just fans who want this event. Word of this project made it’s way to Hollywood, and some people came to Facebook and said they’re excited about this event as well: Kurt Weldon. Thomas Hart. Mark Drop. Brian Swenlin. Stephen Silver. Lisa Schaffer. Andy Ice. Adam Berry. Steve Loter. Bob Schooley (yes, that Bob Schooley). With their input on the event as well, I expect this will be a fan event unlike any other.
So pencil in these dates on your calendar: June 8-10, 2012. Visit and like the Facebook Page for the Kim Possible Fan Convention 2012. Once there, you’ll get updates from me and the rest of Team Possible 2012 about what’s happening.
Come, join us as we celebrate the first great heroine of the 21st century!.
Selena Gomez Concert at the OC Fair
Our very own Webmaster Greg recently went to see the talented Selena Gomez as she kicked off her new nationwide tour at the Orange County Fair on Sunday July 24th. Disney had also invited some various actors to the show including Adam Irigoyen (Deuce, Shake It Up), Caroline Sunshine (Tinka, Shake It Up) Bella Thorne (CeCe, Shake It Up), and Stefanie Scott (Lexi, ANT Farm). Selena did a total of 18 songs, including songs from all three of her studio albums with an obvious emphasis on the newest album.
So on Sunday I went to the Orange County Fair to see Selena. It wasn’t the best timing for me, but I had already paid for the ticket back in February so I figured I better take advantage. I had some time to explore the fair before the show and I saw the cutest baby cow. <3
Also, prior to the actual show, I got word that Disney had invited some various actors to the show including Adam Irigoyen (Deuce, Shake It Up), Caroline Sunshine (Tinka, Shake It Up) Bella Thorne (CeCe, Shake It Up), and Stefanie Scott (Lexi, ANT Farm). I saw all of them, but Bella is the only one who come close to where I was. And I already met her so I didn’t try knocking people over to get to talk to her. xD
So then it was actually time for the show! It was a huge amphitheater and I was in the 14th row back. Not too bad I think. Not as good as the last time I saw Selena, but then again, I didn’t have to stand in the sun for six hours either.
Selena did a total of 18 songs! That’s the most I’ve ever seen her do at once, surpassing her LA County Fair show last year by a good six songs. Here’s the full list:
A Year Without Rain
Hit the Lights
Summer’s Not Hot
Round and round
The Way I Loved You
We Own the Night
Love You Like a Love Song
Spotlight
Bang Bang Bang
When the Sun Goes Down
Intuition
Falling Down
Rock God
My Dilemma
Off the Chain
Tell Me Something I Don’t Know
Naturally
Who Says
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_bFOiJcomo
I think that song “Hit the Lights” is my favorite off the new album. If not, then “We Own the Night” is.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZt4-6L5EO4
I was a bit disappointed she didn’t do “Outlaw” though. It would have been an interesting song to hear live. Although I must say that “My Dilemma” was pretty good too.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7liZEHnnoU
And, I have to at least mention this I suppose, Selena’s little boy toy Justin Bieber was there too. Worse, he actually took the f-ing stage! I both tried to set him on fire using only the power of my mind (it didn’t work, darn!) and I also watched Selena watch him. And I have to say, she didn’t look very comfortable watching him perform. You can’t really see her in the video unfortunately, but there was just enough light to make her out in person.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KChY39c3lDs
If you’re looking for the rest of the videos from the show, you can find them over on my youtube. =]
I guess the best way to start this story is to simply tell it from the beginning. As I’m sure most of you know by now, I have an unusual work schedule. Because of this, I usually write my posts a week or more in advance and schedule them so they post on a fairly regular basis.
So last week I saw this picture on Allisyn Ashley Arm’s twitter…
… and I was like, “Holy F#&k!”
15 year old Allisyn is showing a lot of leg and quite honestly I was taken aback. You see… I kinda actually know her a little bit. I can’t really revel my sources, but I know people that are close to her and it was just very strange to see her like that.
I had a discussion with one of my close friends about it that evening. I realized a couple things that night. First, that if it felt wrong to sexualize her by reposting that pic with the usual commentary, then I probably shouldn’t do it. Of course, it wasn’t a far leap then to conclude that sexualizing ANY girl like that would be just as equally wrong… and that’s pretty much all we do here.
I mean, just because I don’t know her cute blond friend Audrey Whitby, that doesn’t mean it’s somehow more appropriate to comment on her looks than on Allisyn. Their outfits there are almost identical, after all.
Truth be told, I don’t enjoy writing for this site the way I used to. It used to be about the shows, but then we lost the screencap gallery and thing just kind of… slipped.
And then… something else happened. I can’t really go into the details, but I lost a dear friend. I may talk to her again someday 3-4 years from now, but I’m not holding my breath on that.
Anyway, that gave me some time to think. And I realized that a change has to be made. Now a site like this obviously can’t turn on a dime. It took a while to get to where we are today, and it will take a while to get back to the course I had originally planned for this site, but it has to be done.
I’ll still be posting pictures of course. But they’re going to be topical and more news worthy, like this shot of the Friends for change blue team. I’m also going to avoid the underage girls in general.
So that means this is probably the last Allisyn post for quite a while. This also means you’ll need to look elsewhere if you’re a big Bella Thorne fan or are particularly into Stefanie Scott. As for the other girls, I may occasionally comment on Selena’s mole or make a preemptive comment on Ashley’s legs, but in general I’m just gonna post the pics and let you decide for yourselves what you think.
If everyone decided to take pics with stormtroopers maybe this won’t be too hard of an adjustment. xD
Now, I will remind you that, as I said before, I write posts in advance and they aren’t always actually posted in order. So this transition will not be immediate, but you should start to notice it over the next couple weeks. I would like to thank you all for your loyal readership over the past few weeks, months, or years and I hope you enjoy the new format.
I would also like to note that this also applies to the new Nick Girls Blog. Future updates there may be a bit more sporadic as I focus on rebuilding and restructuring this blog. I will be sure to do my best to keep you updated.
One final thing, I am looking for a couple new contributors who can help me keep up with the latest news and events for Disney and Nick. In particular, I’m looking for people more familiar with Nick, but that’s not a must.
