Shake It Up / Ultimate Dance Off

Posted on: Friday, June 10th, 2011 in: Bella Thorne, Disney Channel News, Shake It Up!, Zendaya Coleman

This sounds like a pretty cool contest/competition idea actually. Sort of a kid version of So You Think You Can Dance, I guess?

This sort of news is probably more appropriate for our new Disney and Nick blog, but it looks like it’s here now. xD

SHAKE IT UP AND BREAK IT DOWN!

DISNEY CHANNEL’S “MAKE YOUR MARK: ULTIMATE DANCE OFF –’SHAKE IT UP’ EDITION” GIVES KIDS THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHOWCASE THEIR SKILLS IN ITS FIRST-EVER TALENT COMPETITION EXCLUISVELY FOR KIDS AND TWEENS

Leveraging the success of the hit dance-driven series “Shake It Up,” Disney Channel will launch its first-ever talent competition exclusively for kids and tweens, “Make Your Mark: Ultimate Dance Off – ‘Shake It Up’ edition,” where kids will help decide the winner. Beginning Friday, July 1, with the consent of a parent, kids will have the opportunity to show off their “mad dance skills” by uploading their own short dance video, up to 45 seconds long, for a chance to compete in the ultimate dance off to air on Disney Channel this October. The Grand Prize includes a performance in an episode of “Shake It Up.”

Currently, viewers can shake it up and break it down at DisneyChannel.com/DanceStudio where online dance videos by “Shake It Up” choreographer Rosero McCoy and his assistant, Claude Racine, teach kids and families signature “Shake It Up” dance moves. New videos will be posted each Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Users can also sign up to receive a text alert when a new dance video is posted by texting the word “MOVES” to DISNEY (347639).

(Click here for episodic images from “Shake It Up,” or visit www.disneychannelmedianet.com. Registration required.)

Production began this month on the second season of “Shake It Up,” a comedy that has delivered record ratings since its 2010 premiere, and ranks as TV’s No. 1 series among Kids 6-11 and Tweens. Jeff Strauss (“Reba,” “All of Us,” “Friends”) has joined Rob Lotterstein (“The War at Home,” “Ellen”) as an executive-producer. Chris Thompson (“Laverne & Shirley,” “Bosom Buddies”) is the series creator.

Teen stars Bella Thorne and Zendaya’s music video, “Watch Me,” makes its world premiere on Friday, June 17 on Disney Channel. Walt Disney Records will release the digital single on Tuesday, June 21 on iTunes, Amazon.com and other online retailers. The Shake It Up: Break It Down CD + DVD Combo Pack includes “Watch Me” and the show’s theme song, “Shake It Up,” by Selena Gomez. The DVD features five instructional dance videos taught by the show’s choreographer Rosero McCoy. Disney’s Friends for Change Games

Posted on: Monday, May 16th, 2011 in: Allisyn Ashley Arm, Bella Thorne, Bridgit Mendler, China McClain, Debby Ryan, Kelsey Chow, Tiffany Thornton

The DC Games are back… sort of.

Disney's Friends for Change

Disney’s really pushing the environmental agenda and re-branding this year’s event as the Friends for Change Games with eco friendly game themes and what I’m sure will be a lot of the usual holier than thou preaching about saving water and the like. How many times do we need to be told to turn off the faucet while brushing our teeth anyway? This isn’t really about saving the planet, it’s about public relations, publicity, politics, and power.

Disney's Friends for Change Games

But I digress. Go blue team! :)

WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD

Over 30 Disney Channel and Disney XD stars from around the globe will compete in “Disney Friends for Change Games” to promote conservation and the power of coming together with friends and family to make a difference in one’s community and the world. Four teams of young stars will compete in a series of fun physical challenges to benefit specific charities and Friends for Change community projects on a global basis.

“Disney Friends for Change Games” teams will compete on behalf of Fauna and Flora International (Green Team), World Wildlife Fund (Red Team), Ocean Conservancy (Blue Team) and UNICEF (Yellow Team). Disney will make a donation of $125,000 to each charity, and the winning team’s charity will also receive an additional $100,000 donation from Disney.

Eighteen year-old Hollywood Records recording artist Bridgit Mendler (“Lemonade Mouth” and “Good Luck Charlie”) co-wrote and performed this year’s Disney Friends for Change anthem, “We Can Change The World,” a buoyant pop/rock song which will be released globally this summer. All of the proceeds from the song will go towards environmental charities through Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund.

Disney stars will invite kids and families worldwide to visit Disney.com/projectgreen, and Friends for Change international sites to pledge actions they will take in their own lives that will make a difference and help the planet. To date, over four million pledges have been made by kids worldwide. Additionally, young planet crusaders can play online versions of the games that took place during “Disney Friends for Change Games” and donate their earned points to their favorite teams. The team with the most points will be named the regional “Fan Favorite” team and awarded an additional $100,000 for their team’s charity. Through “Disney Friends for Change Games” and with the help of kids at home, Disney is donating almost one million dollars globally.

“Disney Friends for Change Games” are hosted by Tiffany Thornton (“So Random”) and Jason Earles (“Kickin’ It”). Maria Canals-Barrera (“Wizards of Waverly Place”) was on-hand to encourage and support the players as only a mom can do.

The teams are:

Blue Team

Captain: Debby Ryan (“Jessie”), Allisyn Ashley Arm (“So Random”), Olavo Cavalheiro (Disney Channel Brazil), Hutch Dano (“Zeke and Luther”), Roshon Fegan (“Shake It Up”), Doc Shaw (“Pair of Kings”), Stefanie Scott (“A.N.T. Farm”) and Jake Short (“A.N.T. Farm”).

Green Team

Captain: Brandon Mychal Smith (“So Random”), Valeria Baroni (Disney Channel Argentina), Paula Dalli (Disney Channel Spain), Adam Hicks (“Zeke and Luther”), David Henrie (“Wizards of Waverly Place”), Sterling Knight (“So Random”), Ryan Ochoa (“Pair of Kings”), Eve Ottino (Disney Channel France) and Bella Thorne (“Shake It Up”).

Yellow Team

Captain: Bridgit Mendler (“Good Luck Charlie”), Jorge Blanco (Disney Channel Mexico), Valentina Colombo (Disney Channel Italy), Adam Irigoyen (“Shake It Up”), China Anne McClain (“A.N.T. Farm”), Sierra McCormick (“A.N.T. Farm”), Logan Miller (“I’m In The Band”) and Gregg Sulkin (“Wizards of Waverly Place” and Disney Channel UK).

Red Team
Captain: Mitchel Musso (“Pair of Kings”), Jake T. Austin (“Wizards of Waverly Place”), Doug Brochu (“So Random”), Kelsey Chow (“Pair of Kings”), Davis Cleveland (“Shake It Up”), Dean Delannoit (Disney Channel Holland and Belgium), Carlon Jeffrey (“A.N.T. Farm”), and Zendaya (“Shake It Up”).

*Special guest Leo Howard (“Kickin’ It”) will also participate.

“Disney Friends for Change Games” challenges are comprised of the four areas of environmental conservation: saving water, preventing waste, saving energy and protecting our habitats. The games emphasize the power of coming together with your friends and family to make a difference in your community and your world.

The games are:

High Energy Dance Battle:

Teams perform a freestyle dance routine on an energy generating dance floor.

Wash Out:

Players will race against time in a multi-stage relay race, taking laundry to the extreme through a series of sorting, washing and hang drying. Some of the clothes in the giant laundry pile were recycled from Disney Channel and Disney XD series.

The Recycler:

Players on stationary bicycles power a high-speed conveyor belt loaded with recycled items.

The Ultimate Course for Change:

Players tackle a challenging multi-part course that incorporates all of the Friends for Change green themes.

“Disney Friends for Change Games” are executive produced by Art Spigel and Hayma ‘Screech’ Washington for Dario Productions. The production was eco-conscious to ensure best efforts were made to lighten impact on the environment.

Greg’s Awesome Autograph Wall

Posted on: Friday, May 13th, 2011 in: Alyson Michalka, Amanda Michalka, Ariana Grande, Ashley Leggat, Ashley Tisdale, Bella Thorne, Bridgit Mendler, Carly Schroeder, Chelsea Kane Staub, Christy Carlson Romano, Daniella Monet, Debby Ryan, Erin Sanders, Kelsey Chow, Kim Possible, Meaghan Martin, Nicole Anderson, Selena Gomez, Tiffany Thornton, Webmaster Greg, Zendaya Coleman

So in honor of her 18th birthday, I finally got around to framing my new Debby Ryan autograph. Pretty awesome right? I love that pic of her.

Greg's Awesome Autographs

I ended up spending a couple hours rearranging and fixing up my autographs wall. So I thought I might as well show it off. These first few are unchanged…

Greg's Awesome Autographs

There are a few new ones in this next batch including Erin sanders (Zoey 101, Big Time Rush), Carly Schroeder (Port Charles, Lizzie McGuire) and Daniella Monet (Victorious).

Greg's Awesome Autographs

I did keep one I’m in the Band pic for myself. And despite Disney flat out refusing to give me one at the filming, (seriously, they treat everyone over 16 like crap) I did eventually manage to get my hands on a Sonny with a Chance poster. :D

Greg's Awesome Autographs

I finally got around to framing my Ariana Grande autograph. It’s only been 7 months. LOL.

Greg's Awesome Autographs

I got my Bella Thorne and Zendaya autographs on the far right of this next pic plus my Taylor Swift calenders (This year’s and last!)

Greg's Awesome Autographs

Last but not least, one of the rarest pieces of KP memorabilia that I know to exist.

Greg's Awesome Autographs

I hope you enjoyed looking half as much as I enjoyed showing off. And no, you can’t have anything, so don’t ask. :P

Bella Thorne Bikini (Practically Naked)

Posted on: Wednesday, May 11th, 2011 in: Bella Thorne, Bikinis (or Less!)

I don’t know why Nate was looking for Bella Thorne Bikini, but he certainly found some more than half naked pics of Disney’s up and coming new star!

Bella Thorne Bikini (Practically Naked)

I don’t think it’s overreaching to say that Bella’s outfit is no where near age appropriate. I mean, she’s clearly comfortable with her body but she really isn’t leaving much to the imagination.

Bella Thorne Bikini (Practically Naked)

Honestly, I’m surprised Zendaya didn’t stop her. I mean, just look at how covered she is. And while we’re at it, what’s up with Bella’s bikini chains? Click to enlarge.

24th Annual Kids Choice Awards (Part 3)

Posted on: Friday, April 8th, 2011 in: Bella Thorne, Liz Gillies, Nickelodeon News, Victoria Justice

I think this will be my last post about the 2011 Kids’ Choice Awards.

24th Annual Kids Choice Awards

I wanted to share a few pics of Victorious girl Liz Gillies whom has really been growing on me.

24th Annual Kids Choice Awards

She’s no where near Ari or Vic as far as I’m concerned, but she is pretty damn cute regardless.

24th Annual Kids Choice Awards

Speaking of Victoria Justice, check out this upskirt from the show!

Victoria Justice Upskirt - Kids Choice Awards

Finally, a few more of Disney’s newest superstar, Bella Thorne.

24th Annual Kids Choice Awards

I’m firmly convinced that a couple years from now, Bella will be bigger than Miley ever was.

24th Annual Kids Choice Awards

I mean, just look her. She’s already cute! ;)

24th Annual Kids Choice Awards

As usual, click each girl to see her gallery.

Bella Thorne – I Am Number Four Premiere

Posted on: Saturday, April 2nd, 2011 in: Bella Thorne

I had already posted some great pics of Debby Ryan at the LA Premiere of I Am Number Four, but I didn’t realize Bella Thorne was there too.

Bella Thorne - I Am Number Four Premiere

Thirteen year old Bella is beyond adorable, there’s no denying that, but just have a look at the dress she was wearing!

Bella Thorne - I Am Number Four Premiere

My goodness, Debby never got away with showing that much leg! LOL

Bella Thorne - I Am Number Four Premiere

Not only is Bella totally showing off her legs, she’s almost flaunting them in some of these shots.

“Last Train to Bustville” – While visiting their grandparents, the kids decide to create and race a giant hot air balloon. Meanwhile, Candace is inspired by train engineer, Glenda’s, can-do attitude and decides to “give up” on busting her brothers. On the other side of town, Dr. Doofenshmirtz finds a Dodo bird egg and is convinced that it is a fierce bird-monster that can help him take over the Tri-state area, but discovers the exact opposite when the egg hatches.

Tina Fey on Phineas and Ferb? This could be interesting.

PHONE LINES GET CROSSED IN A NEW EPISODE OF
“GOOD LUCK CHARLIE,” SUNDAY, MARCH 13 ON DISNEY CHANNEL

“Appy Days” – Teddy and Ivy use a “fake phone call” app to convince their mothers that the other one gave permission for the girls to go to a party. When Gabe blows their plan, the girls have to think fast and avoid getting caught. Meanwhile, PJ is hurt to learn that Bob describes him only as “nice,” in a new episode of “Good Luck Charlie,” premiering SUNDAY, MARCH 13 (8:00–8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Now this could be good. The girls will get busted of course, as Disney policy is that the kids can never actually get away with anything, but it should be interesting never the less.

THE DUNCAN HOUSEHOLD DECLARES WAR
IN A NEW EPISODE OF “GOOD LUCK CHARLIE,”
SUNDAY, MARCH 20 ON DISNEY CHANNEL

“Duncan vs. Duncan” – When Bob and Amy decide to go away for a romantic night, Teddy and PJ use the opportunity to throw a house party. However, when Bob and Amy get into a huge fight, they cancel their trip, and the kids desperately try to reconcile them so their party can resume. I’m not sure what I think about this. Or Teddy and PJ’s somewhat selfishly implied motives to help them reconcile.

CECE AND ROCKY HOST THEIR OWN VIDEO WEBCAST TO DISPENSE TEEN ADVICE IN A NEW EPISODE OF “SHAKE IT UP,” SUNDAY, MARCH 20

“Hot Mess It Up” – CeCe and Rocky host a video webcast offering advice to teens, but wind up giving bad dating advice to a fellow student who they mistake for Gunther. Meanwhile, Ty, Flynn and Deuce host their own internet show “Zombie Talk,” in a new episode of “Shake It Up,” SUNDAY, MARCH 20 (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Well, this is a classic with bit of a modern tech twist. It’s usually the school newspaper’s advice column but I guess webcast works too.

“A L.A.R.P. in the Park” – Teddy is ecstatic that the new hot guy, Evan, invites her for a date at the park. When she finds out she has to babysit Charlie too, she brings her along, but when they arrive, Teddy is horrified to find out that Evan is a secret L.A.R.P. (live action role playing) fan. Meanwhile, Amy visits the hospital after getting poked in the eye accidentally by Charlie, and finds the brief stint at the hospital so relaxing, she fakes the seriousness of her injury so she can stay longer. Horrified? She’s horrified that the hot guy is also kinda geeky? Wow. What kind of message is that sending to- Eh, nevermind. We’ll just have to wait ‘til it airs to learn the full story there.
