New Series: Dog with a Blog

New Series: Dog with a Blog

Disney Channel has officially picked up the series “Dog with a Blog” staring G. Hannelius for a full season order. Production begins this Summer for a premiere in the Fall. A talking dog series seems a little out there, but we’ve been surprised before.

A family sitcom from the pet’s point-of-view, it centers on step-siblings whose parents buy them a dog to encourage them to get along. That happens – to some extent – as brother and sister discover a big secret about their family’s latest addition… that the dog can talk AND blog. The series will introduce a talented cast, among them, Disney Channel’s next big star: a four year-old, mixed breed named Kuma in the role of Stan, the talking dog with a blog.

New Disney Pilot: Bits & Pieces

New Disney Pilot: Bits & Pieces

Disney has ordered a new pilot called Bits & Pieces which sounds a lot like a redo of Life with Derek. Derek was a very well done show, but it wasn’t actually produced by Disney so it would be interesting to see Disney’s direct take on the idea if the pilot ends up being picked up for a full series order.

In the story, the family tree gets a whole lot bigger when high school basketball coach Pete marries the school psychologist Jodie, much to the chagrin of their four kids. Willful teenager Alanna recounts all the family moments through comedic vignettes, while her awkward brother Sticky and their new step siblings Crystal and Brody help fill in the bits and pieces as they begin their journey together as a new family.

Rich Ross Resigns!

Rich Ross Resigns!

Rich Ross was the president of the Disney Channel when Kim Possible was cancelled and SDS was founded. In 2009 Bob Iger fired Walt Disney Studios head Dick Cook and promoted Ross to the position. Ross continued in that post until last month when he was forced to resign in the wake of the John Carter debacle (and more importantly Ross’s mishandling of the spin). A replacement has yet to be named.

Disney Channel’s Executive Promotions

Disney Channel’s Executive Promotions

In related news, Richard Loomis has been promoted to the newly created position of Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Disney Channels Worldwide. Mr Loomis had joined DC back in 2007 and has been leading their marketing efforts ever since.

Karen K. Miller has also been promoted to Executive Director, Worldwide Programming Strategy, which puts her in a very prominent position as far as the future direction of the channel.

Phineas & Ferb to Replace Kim Possible at Epcot

Phineas & Ferb to Replace Kim Possible at Epcot

This is disappointing, but not really unexpected. Instead of standing with the franchise, Disney just casts KP to the sidelines in favor of capitalizing on Phineas and Ferb for a short while instead.

[The]“Kim Possible” interactive game at Epcot will be replaced with Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure … As the Orlando Sentinel reports, visitors will become secret agents to help the “Phineas & Ferb” character defeat his archenemy Dr. Doofenshmirtz. Families with kids that adore the series will probably enjoy an afternoon helping the platypus out.

Disney starlet Brenda Song recently filmed a new pilot titled “Table For Three” for NBC! Our own Webmaster Greg was at the taping for the pilot, and he assures us that the show was phenomenal and we hope that it gets picked up for a full season run.

Logline: Revolves around a young woman who returns home from overseas to find her father in a serious relationship with the “mean girl” from her high school.

Disney Channel May 2012 Highlights

Posted on: Monday, April 30th, 2012 in: Austin & Ally, Disney Channel News, Good Luck Charlie, Jessie (Series), Phineas and Ferb, Shake It Up!

Good Luck Charlie returns this month with four new episodes! There are also a couple of Jessie, Phineas and Ferb, and Shake it Up episodes. Plus one new Austin and Ally. Unfortunately, last month was the last So Random of the Season. There don’t seem to be any A.N.T. Farm or Fish Hooks episodes scheduled either.

http://g2i.us/images/disney-channel-logo.jpg

We’ve staring off the month with a new Jessie in it’s new 8PM time shot. Seems like a good idea to me.

JESSIE AND ZURI JOIN THE PAGEANT CIRCUIT IN A NEW EPISODE OF “JESSIE,” FRIDAY, MAY 4 ON DISNEY CHANNEL

“Beauty & the Beasts” – After convincing Zuri to enter a pageant, Jesse runs into her nemesis Nanny Agatha, who has entered her beloved Lindsay in the pageant, as well. Meanwhile, Luke and Ravi play practical jokes on Bertram, in a new episode of “Jessie,” premiering FRIDAY, MAY 4 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Guest starring are Jennifer Veal as Agatha and Nikki Hahn as Lindsay.

Phineas and Ferb seems to be relying on guest stars more and more recently. I don’t particularly like that…

TOM BERGERON AND RICHARD KIND GUEST STAR IN AN ALL-NEW EPISODE OF “PHINEAS AND FERB,” FRIDAY, MAY 4 ON DISNEY CHANNEL

“The Mom Attractor” – When the boys ask Candace to decide what they should do for the day, she slyly asks them to invent a device to attract their Mom so that she can finally bust her brothers. Meanwhile, Dr. Doofenshmirtz has invented a “Baby-Cry-Inator” designed to tarnish his goodie-two-shoes brother’s image with the electorate.

“Cranium Maximus” – When Baljeet becomes concerned that he is losing his mental edge, the boys invent a cerebral stimulatory hat, or “Brain booster,” to help him. But when the hat exceeds expectations and makes Baljeet exponentially smarter, he suddenly views everyone else as beneath him and becomes a threat to civilization. Meanwhile, Dr. Doofenshmirtz plans to use his “Key-Find-Inator” to collect all the keys in Danville in hopes that it will lead to the Key to the City.

“The Mom Attractor” was written Martin Olson and directed by Rob Hughes. “Cranium Maximus” was written by Scott Peterson and directed by Jay Lender.

The return of Good Luck Charlie! It’s about time – you guys still remember what Bridgit looks like, right? ;)

SEASON THREE OF “GOOD LUCK CHARLIE” PREMIERES WITH
BACK-TO-BACK EPISODES SUNDAY, MAY 6 ON DISNEY CHANNEL

“Make Room for the Baby” – Now in her third trimester, Amy decides the family needs to move into a bigger house to make room for baby number five. However, even after all the furniture is packed up, Amy finds that the house is still filled with the incredible memories the family shared within its walls as she takes a nostalgic walk down memory lane, in the season three premiere episode of “Good Luck Charlie,” premiering SUNDAY, MAY 6 (8:00–8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

“Bad Luck Teddy” – Everyone at school thinks Teddy is a jinx on Spencer since the basketball team has been losing ever since they got back together. Meanwhile, Gabe misunderstands a conversation he overhears between Amy and Bob and thinks he is being sent to a military school, and PJ has a hard time letting go of his old hair salon until he discovers that his new hairdresser is a cute girl, in a new episode of
Good Luck Charlie,” premiering SUNDAY, MAY 6 (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Shane Harper reprises his role as Spencer in “Make Room for the Baby” and “Bad Luck Teddy” and Raven Goodwin returns as Ivy in “Bad Luck Teddy.”

Another new Jessie? And more of Agatha (ok, twin sister LOL)? I’m surprised. But in a good way. :)

JESSIE DEFENDS HER TURF IN A NEW EPISODE OF “JESSIE,”
FRIDAY, MAY 11 ON DISNEY CHANNEL

“Evil Times Two” – Nanny Agatha’s twin sister, Angela, is in town and Jessie suspects she is trying to steal her job and also catch Tony’s eye. Meanwhile, Emma copes with a giant zit on her nose, in a new episode of “Jessie,” premiering FRIDAY, MAY 11 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Guest starring is Jennifer Veal as Nannies Agatha and Angela, twin sisters.

Seth Green on Phineas and Ferb? Never mind what I just said about guest stars. LOL

JORGE GARCIA AND SETH GREEN GUEST STAR IN AN ALL-NEW EPISODE OF “PHINEAS AND FERB,” FRIDAY, MAY 11 ON DISNEY CHANNEL

“Agent Doof” – Candace’s plans to watch over Phineas and Ferb backfire when Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s “Babe-inator” turns her brothers into babies. After having an epiphany, Dr. Doofenshmirtz shows up at the OWCA to give up his evil ways. Agent P has no choice but to show Dr. Doofenshmirtz the ropes of the trade, but things quickly sour between the two after Dr. Doofenshmirtz accidentally exposes the identity of a fellow animal agent.

“Minor Monogram” – With Fall around the corner, Phineas and Ferb decide to invent “S’Fall,” a colorful world full of giant leaf piles and gourds. Meanwhile, over at Evil Inc., Dr. Doofenshmirtz is mentoring Rodrigo, a budding student of evil. Unfortunately, Rodrigo truly is evil, and when he captures Dr. Doofenshmirtz and Agent P., it’s up to Major Monogram’s son, Monty, to save the day.

This episode of “Phineas and Ferb” airs FRIDAY, MAY 11 (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Jorge Garcia (“Lost”) guest stars as Rodrigo, and Seth Green (“Robot Chicken”) as Monty in the episode “Minor Monogram.”

Two more back to back GLCs? They could have just showed one per week and premiered the first one last month. *eye roll*

CHARLIE REVEALS THE SUPRISING REASON BEHIND AMY’S BABY SHOWER AND TEDDY FINDS HERSELF IN A PROM DRESS FIASCO,
IN NEW BACK-TO-BACK EPISODES OF “GOOD LUCK CHARLIE”
SUNDAY, MAY 13 ON DISNEY CHANNEL

“Amy Needs a Shower” – In the midst of Amy’s baby shower, Charlie reveals the surprising reason behind her mom’s motive for having the party. Meanwhile, Teddy and Ivy find themselves hosting the most boring show at their local radio station, and Bob makes PJ and Gabe compete for a playoff game ticket by proving who knows their dad best, in a new episode of “Good Luck Charlie,” premiering SUNDAY, MAY 13 (7:30–8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

“Dress Mess” – Amy is sure her old prom dress would be the perfect fit for Teddy to wear to her dance, and PJ forgoes his prom to go to another one, only to regret his choice when he discovers that his date is home schooled, in a new episode of
“Good Luck Charlie,” premiering SUNDAY, MAY 13 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Raven Goodwin returns as Ivy in “Amy Needs a Shower” and Shane Harper reprises his role as Spencer in “Dress Mess.”

A new Shake it Up. I was starting to wonder if they only had three shows now. xD Not that shis sounds like a particularly creative idea.

CECE AND ROCKY GET DOUBLE BOOKED IN A NEW EPISODE OF
“SHAKE IT UP,” SUNDAY, MAY 13 ON DISNEY CHANNEL
“Tunnel It Up” – CeCe hatches a plan that will allow her and Rocky to tape a “Shake It Up, Chicago” national special and be at a school dance on the same night. Meanwhile, Deuce ends up having to bring Flynn to the dance, in a new episode of “Shake It Up,” SUNDAY, MAY 13 (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Oh, how I hope that they actually let Bridgit sing in this episode and not just hint at it.

TEDDY AND SPENCER STAR IN A MUSICAL
IN A NEW EPISODE OF “GOOD LUCK CHARLIE,”
SUNDAY, MAY 20 ON DISNEY CHANNEL

“Catch Me If You Can” – Teddy and Spencer worry that Amy will steal their spotlight if she discovers they’re starring in a musical at a local children’s theatre, so they try and keep it under wraps. Meanwhile, Bob tries to prove he is as brave as his nemesis by catching a snake, and PJ’s boss asks him to investigate crimes at Kwiki-Chikki, in a new episode of “Good Luck Charlie,” premiering SUNDAY, MAY 20 (7:30–8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Shane Harper reprises his role as Spencer.

This seems fairly predictable, but is is good to see there’s a new A&A episode this month at least.

AUSTIN FACES HIS FEARS IN A NEW EPISODE OF
“AUSTIN & ALLY,” SUNDAY, MAY 20 ON DISNEY CHANNEL

“Filmmaking & Fear Breaking” – Dez is filming his first big movie and the whole gang jumps in to help. The series, starring fan-favorite Debby Ryan, ranks #1 among Kids 2-11, Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14.
