23 Questions with Ashley Tisdale

Posted on: Sunday, April 24th, 2011 in: Ashley Tisdale

A new interview with Ashley from Disney’s D23 in honor of (AKA: to promote sales of) the new Sharpay movie.

Sharpays Fabulous Adventure DVD Release Party

04.21.11 – It’s a Sharpay world, and we’re just lucky to live in it — according to Sharpay, that is. D23 sits down with Sharpay herself, actress Ashley Tisdale, to talk about her new movie, Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure.

When we first met this Broadway-bound blonde in High School Musical, she was stirring up trouble as East High School’s resident drama queen. But there’s more to this aspiring actress than pranks, pink and high school plays. In her new movie, Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure, Sharpay finds out what she’s made of as she takes on conniving divas and canine competition in hopes of scoring the role of a lifetime. D23 sat down with Sharpay herself, actress Ashley Tisdale, to talk High School Musical memories, her multiple Disney roles, and, of course, all things Sharpay.

You’ve played Sharpay now four times. How would you say this character has evolved since the first High School Musical (HSM) film? In the first three movies, she was the one who stirred up the trouble. She was the drama queen. She was good for the one-liners, but you never got to dive into her story. With this movie, you get to know why Sharpay is the way she is, and then you get to see her evolve and grow. She’s used to getting what she wants, but now she’s out of high school and out on her own in New York City. It’s a whole big adventure.

Do you have anything in common with Sharpay?
I can relate to how driven she is. We also both love to perform.

Why do you think so many people love Sharpay?
I’ve always wondered that. While testing one of the movies, the fans said the reason why they love Sharpay is “she knows what she wants and she goes out and gets it.” They could see that she’s driven, which I think is a very good quality.

In this movie, Sharpay has a very special relationship with her dog, Boi. What was it like working with animal actors?
It’s definitely a challenge working with dogs because they really don’t understand what’s going on. They’re so cute though. Howie and Herby were awesome to work with.

You have a dog of your own, right? What’s her name?
Yes. I have a teacup Maltipoo and her name is Maui.

Sharpay is determined to make it as a Broadway star. What’s your favorite Broadway show?
Wicked!

Is there a current Broadway musical you’d like to star in?
Right now I want to do more movies. Maybe in the future.

You grew up on movie sets. Do you ever wish you had a “normal” childhood?
I went to a regular school growing up and graduated from high school, so I got to have all those experiences. I love what I do and wouldn’t give it up for anything!

You’re the executive producer on Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure. Do you have other projects you’re planning to produce?
All the projects I’m producing are in development right now. The network Bravo just picked up one of my reality shows called Miss Advised. I’m super excited about that one (again, I’m not in the project, just producing).

Any other upcoming projects?
I’m doing a TV show right now on CW called Hellcats.

What is the best part of being an actor?
For me it’s watching the finished product and seeing it all come together.

If you could only act or sing for the rest of your life, which would you choose?
I can’t choose. I love both. I would have to say I’ve been acting the longest, so that’s my number one.

How can you keep in touch with your fans?
Twitter! It’s so easy and I love staying connected to all of the fans.

What is the nicest thing a fan has said?
That I inspire them.

For a lot of young people today, you’re their introduction to the Disney universe because of High School Musical, Suite Life, and Phineas and Ferb. What was your first Disney experience?
I would have to say one of the first movies I remember watching was The Little Mermaid. I was a really big fan of The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and all the animated Disney movies.

Favorite Disney movie?
Right now I have to say Tangled is one of my favorite movies. It’s so good! It reminds me of all those movies back in the day, like The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast.

What Disneyland attraction do you always have to go on?
Definitely Pirates of the Caribbean, because that’s my dad’s favorite ride. Also, I do like California Adventure. I love going to Soarin’ over California. Tower of Terror is also one of my favorites.

What’s been your favorite Disney moment now that you’ve been part of the Disney family for awhile?
When we did HSM2, we got to do a premiere at Disneyland. There was a parade that we did before, and I think the only premiere prior to that at Disneyland was Pirates of the Caribbean. So the whole cast felt super special, and it was the best day ever because we got to be at Disneyland and be with the fans. The Beckhams were actually there with us, and we were like, ‘This is insane!’ It was pretty cool.

What was it like making a Sharpay movie without your old HSM co-stars?
It was nerve wrecking. Luckily I had a whole new cast and new characters that were awesome, so they helped me out.

Do you keep in touch with the HSM cast?
Of course! I was actually just with Zac Efron, and Vanessa Hudgens is promoting her movie right now, but we’re always keeping in touch. We love to go shopping together.

You’ve been involved with a lot of different Disney projects. You’ve played mean characters (HSM), nice characters (The Suite Life) and even animated characters (Phineas and Ferb). What has been your favorite character to play to date?
Definitely Sharpay. That’s why I did another movie. This type of character doesn’t really come around that often — she’s larger than life. I just enjoyed everything about her and the HSM series. It’s just been such an amazing ride.

Did you get to keep any props or costumes from the film?
I have Sharpay’s full wardrobe from the first HSM movie. I also have a perfume ad from HSM3, Manipulation by Sharpay, and it’s a big picture of me and a perfume bottle. It’s the funniest thing. It’s from the “I Want It All” musical number. I have this huge wall in my bathroom, so I put it there. It’s like a giant ode to Sharpay.

What do you hope audiences take away from this film?
I hope they enjoy it. I know that they like Sharpay from the other movies, but I hope that they like her story in Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure. I feel like this movie has a lot of life lessons. It’s very true to someone who is trying to make it in any business, but especially the entertainment business. You just have to believe in yourself and keep going.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment’s latest release, Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure, is now available on Disney Blu-ray combo pack, DVD and movie download.

Debby Ryan in The Haunting Hour

Posted on: Saturday, April 23rd, 2011 in: Debby Ryan

A couple weeks ago Debby Ryan was on an episode of R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour on the Hub channel.

Debby Ryan in The Haunting Hour

Debby actually played a mean girl! And I hear she did it well.

Debby Ryan in The Haunting Hour

It’s a shame no one’s ever heard of the show or that channel before, though. LOL

Debby Ryan in The Haunting Hour

The two meanest girls at school prank call their next door neighbor only to hear that she died the next day. Then the spirit of the woman haunts the girls for a few days. Finally, they go to the person they always make fun of at school. In the end the one girl becomes trapped in the phone and the old woman turns out to be the grandmother of the girl that Stephanie (Debby Ryan) and her friend make fun of at school.

I also looked up the video for the episode, “Wrong Number,” on YouTube for anyone that’s interested…

Demi Lovato’s GMA Interview

Posted on: Friday, April 22nd, 2011 in: Demi Lovato

As Lissa previously reported Demi will not be returning to her series Sonny with a Chance. As she mentioned in the People interview, she’s just not ready to have people looking at her. I guess that explains why she’s been avoiding movie premieres and other special events as well.

As we already knew, her issues included an eating disorder (anorexia and bulimia), cutting, and bipolar disorder. But I have to warn you, if you’re a real fan, it’s not easy watching her struggle to talk about it.

I haven’t posted any new Selena pics for a while, so here’s a few I really liked that I hadn’t gotten to yet.

These are from MTV’s “The Seven” in New York several weeks ago.

I can see her mole. ;)

Ashley Tisdale Sharpay DVD Signing in LA

Posted on: Wednesday, April 20th, 2011 in: Ashley Tisdale, Disney Channel News, High School Musical, Webmaster Greg

I met Ashley Tisdale! <3

Ashley Tisdale Sharpay DVD Signing in LA

She was at the Barns and Noble at The Grove in LA (where I met Hilary Duff) to sign copies of her new movie Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure.

Because I’m awesome (okay, I just got there really early) I was the 7th person in line and got some great photos of Tizz as she arrived.

There was quite a bit of press there. 15+ press photographers plus B&N’s own in house photographer. Disney did some filming there too.

I think I was the only one that caught her with her usual coffee prink though. LOL

She was behind that table most of the time, but I did get a few shots that showed her legs (You’re welcome Arwin. :P )

And of course, I got some nice actual signing pics too.

I’m not sure how I’m gonna properly display this autograph, though. I can’t really frame it.

Sonny Without a Lovato

Posted on: Tuesday, April 19th, 2011 in: Demi Lovato, Disney Channel News, Sonny with a Chance

Sonny With a Chance holds, well, no chance. Demi Lovato announced in People Magazine that she will NOT be returning to filming Disney’s Sonny With a Chance, or it’s remake, So Random!

Demi Lovato is taking a chance.

The teen star – who entered treatment for “physical and emotional issues” last October – will not be returning to her hit Disney Channel series, Sonny with a Chance.

“It made sense for me to go ahead and leave the show to focus on my music,”Lovato, 18, tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue. “It’s kind of sad for me that a chapter of my life has ended but there couldn’t be a better time for me to move on.”

“I don’t think going back to Sonny would be healthy for my recovery,” says Lovato, who returned to Los Angeles in January after completing three months of in-patient treatment. “Being in front of a camera would make me nervous.”

And she has the support of the Disney Channel.

“We respect Demi’s decision to focus fulltime on her music and not immediately return to her acting career,” a rep for the Disney Channel said in a statement. “She is a talented young woman and our hearts are with her as she continues to take action to improve her health and bounce back from adversity.”

Lovato’s career took off after starring in the Disney Channel’s 2008 original movie Camp Rock, opposite the Jonas Brothers. Next came Sonny with a Chance, which debuted in 2010.

But even without its main star, the show will still go on: the series is being reinvented as a sketch comedy program called So Random!, which will debut in June.

Lovato, who will continue to record under Disney’s label Hollywood Records, calls her decision to walk away from her TV gig “nerve-racking.” But, she says, “I’m really excited to see where everything goes.”

As a reminder, this is Demi Lovato in Disney’s former hit show, Sonny With a Chance. (Click to enlarge.)

Taylor Swift – Songwriters Hall of Fame

Posted on: Monday, April 18th, 2011 in: Taylor Swift

So last week Fullmetal, Chris, and Pwfan said I should post more Taylor pics.

Taylor Swift – Songwriters Hall of Fame

This particular set is from a few months ago, but I really liked show she was actually showing some skin up top. ;)

Taylor Swift – Songwriters Hall of Fame

I think she’s prettier with her hair down, but that’s okay. I’m not complaining.

Taylor Swift – Songwriters Hall of Fame

And if you were wondering, the event was the “41st Annual Songwriters Hall of Fame Ceremony.” I’ve never heard of it either.

Ariana Grande Hot Tub Bikini Photos!

Posted on: Sunday, April 17th, 2011 in: Ariana Grande, Bikinis (or Less!)

I think everyone knows how much I love Ariana by now, her rockin’ body is but one small reason why. ;)

Ariana Grande Hot Tub Bikini Photos

I recently found these caps of Ari from one of her live uStream chats.

I’m not sure why she decided to broadcast from a hot tub, but I’m certainty not complaining!

I do miss her Friday uStreams. It seemed like a lot of celeb were doing them then and then the fad just sort of passed…

Nick and Disney Hotties

Posted on: Saturday, April 16th, 2011 in: Amanda Bynes, Ariana Grande, Bikinis (or Less!), Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Nickelodeon News

It’s Karen again. Greg is having me bring more of a Nickelodeon portion of posts to this blog.

I know this is “Disney Channel Fans,” but a girl in a bikini is a girl in a bikini. Am I right?

And I believe a hot girl is Miss Amanda Bynes.

Sexy Amada Bynes

Of course the wonderful Ariana Grande is to be included.

Ariana Grande Bikni Hottie

This may just be my all-time favourite picture. Ever.

Beautiful Ariana Grande

Emma Roberts, in my opinion, is beautiful. I’d say talented, but I can’t remember what she played in. I blame that on lack of sleep…

Amazing Emma Roberts

She is such a doll. (Love the cute tummy!)

Emma Roberts Tummy

In this one she seems to be a drunk zombie, but her figure is very amazing. (note the shadow)

Alluring Emma Roberts

Hayden Panettiere has got to be on my top five favourite actresses list.

Sexy Hayden Panettiere

You have got to love her smile, even at it’s dorkiest.

Cute Smile Hayden Panettiere Bikini

I’ll leave it at my Hayden and bid you all adeiu.
