Ah, Michelle Trachtenberg, one of my first celeb crushes.

Anyway, this former disney girl is (obviously) in the new issue of Maxim and she’s lookin way hot.

“I Like my curves: the boobs, the booty.” I’m in agreement with you there Michelle!

Some pretty awesome stuff, right? I gotta get this issue.

OMG! I didn’t know Canadian hottie Ashley Leggat wore a bikini in Vacation With Derek (The Life With Derek Movie)!

The movie aired in Canada on Family channel last year, but as far as I know it has never been shown in the US.

I haven’t seen the film, but I certainly want to now! (Okay, I wanted to before but now I really want to!)

It’s really a shame we haven’t seen more of Miss Leggat, but I suppose we should be grateful for what we do get.

Universal Acquires ’13 Reasons Why’ As Selena Gomez Vehicle

Universal Pictures and Strike Entertainment have acquired the Jay Asher novel 13 Reasons Why as a star vehicle for Selena Gomez. Strike’s Eric Newman and Marc Abraham are producing with Mandy Teefey of July Moon Productions.

Jennifer O’Kieffe has been set to adapt the novel, about a shy California high school student who returns from school to find a box waiting on his doorstep. It contains seven cassette tapes recorded by Hanna Baker, the classmate he had a crush on. Before she committed suicide, Hannah sent the tapes to one classmate with instructions to pass them on to a list of students like a chain letter. The tapes explain to 13 people how they played a role in her death. The book was a bestseller when published in 2007 by the Penguin Books young adult imprint RazorBill. Strike’s Kristel Laiblin is exec producer.

Gomez, who stars in the Disney Channel series The Wizards of Waverly Place, starred in the Tom Bezucha-directed Monte Carlo. She’s repped by CAA.

I’m not sure what I think of this. My guess is that Sel would play the dead girl, Hannah Baker. This seems like an unusual plot to say the least. So I decided to do some more research and look up the book on Amazon.

I was surprised by the overwhelmingly positive reviews. Especially this part “Hannah, herself, is not free from guilt, her own inaction having played a part in an accidental auto death and a rape. The message about how we treat one another, although sometimes heavy, makes for compelling reading.”

This certainly looks like an interesting project. I think a lot will rest on how well they adapt the plot for the screen and how specifically they market it.

Good news for the Walt Disney Company! Earnings are up, and by a fairly significant amount!

Feb 08, 2011 (SmarTrend News Watch via COMTEX) — Walt Disney (NYSE:DIS) reported Q1 EPS of $0.68, topping consensus estimates of $0.56 per share. Revenues for the quarter rose to $10.72 billion, ahead of consensus estimates of
$10.52 billion.

“We had an excellent first quarter, driven by strong creative content and our unique ability to leverage great entertainment across the many platforms, businesses and markets in which we operate,” said Robert A. Iger, President and CEO. “With net income up 54%, it’s a great start to a new fiscal year.”

Walt Disney has a potential upside of 4.8% based on a current price of $41.19 and an average consensus analyst price target of $43.16.

Walt Disney is currently above its 50-day moving average (MA) of $38.37 and above its 200-day of $35.39.

In the last five trading sessions, the 50-day MA has climbed 0.64% while the 200-day MA has risen 0.17%.

The Walt Disney Company, an entertainment company, conducts operations in media networks, studio entertainment, theme parks and resorts, consumer products, and Internet and direct marketing. The Company produces motion pictures, television programs, and musical recordings, as well as publishes books and magazines. Disney also operates ABC radio and television and theme parks.

I’m gonna take wild guess and say that you all probably already know what I think of Justin Bieber. I wouldn’t go see his movie “Never Say Never” even if Selena Gomez herself invited me to the premiere!

… Okay, if she’s wearing that maybe I would.

I don’t really have the standing to critique Selena’s fashion choices, but I think my girl looks absolutely stunning in purple.

Taylor Momsen was apparently on her way from an S&M session and didn’t have time to cover her ass. LOL

Now, Debby Ryan on the other hand, well she can rock my world any time she wants!

I mean, seriously, Debby was rockin’ that little black dress.

February Disney Channel Highlights

This month kicks off with a new Wizards of Waverly Place three part special, “Wizards vs. Angels.”Later in the month, there are a couple new Good Luck Charlie (Season Two!) and Shake it Up episodes. And as usual, a bunch of random Fish Hooks episodes scattered about. Meanwhile, Hannah Montana is finished and The Suite Life on Deck is almost finished with it’s run. Sonny with a Chance has just begun filming Season 3 which should begin airing later this year (more on that below).

Lilo Returns to “Stitch!”

Lilo returns to Stitch! the Japanese animated series! The new series has been controversial from the start because Lilo supposedly “ditched” Stitch for her new BF. On the upcoming season 3 episode “Zutto Saiko no Tomodachi”, Lilo makes her way overseas for a reunion with Stitch. And Jess Winfield himself tells us that Save Disney Shows played a part in making it happen!

Disney Brings Phineas and Ferb to the Big Screen!

Disney executives announced today that the hit Disney Channel series Phineas and Ferb is being developed for a new theatrical movie. Disney’s head of production and Tron: Legacy producer Sean Bailey is developing the project.

The project is still in early stages of development, although it was said to be a combination of live-action and animated elements. No story details were given.

Sonny With A Chance Season 3

By now, most people should already know that Camp Rock & Sonny with a Chance star Demi Lovato is out of treatment and back in LA. With any luck, she should be getting back to work on Sonny within the next few weeks. Meanwhile, the taping for the first episode of Season 3 “So Random Style” took place this past Tuesday February 1st in Hollywood without Demi present.

New DCOM: Lemonade Mouth

Disney is clearly hoping to find a new High School Musical…

Themes of believing in yourself, following your dreams, celebrating family and staying true to yourself are explored in the triumphant, music-driven “Lemonade Mouth,” a Disney Channel Original Movie based on the book of the same name, set to premiere FRIDAY, MARCH 25 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Geared towards kids, tweens and families, “Lemonade Mouth” tells the story of how a powerhouse band came to be after five uncelebrated students with a passion for music find each other and ultimately become the voice of their generation.

Robin Agranoff promoted at DC Programming

Robin Agranoff has been promoted to vice president, Programming, Disney Channels, it was announced [this month] by Paul DeBenedittis, senior vice president, Programming Strategy, Disney Channels Worldwide, to whom she will report. She continues to be responsible for managing programming planning and scheduling for ratings leader Disney Channel, its learning-focused block for preschoolers, Playhouse Disney (soon to be rebranded Disney Junior) and ABC Kids.

Have I mentioned how adorable this picture is? LOL … She’s 13 – it’s the only adjective I’m comfortable using when talking about her.

When I saw it, I just had to comment: “Such a diva. Can’t even walk on her own. Poor Sage. LOL (You know I’m only kiddin’ Bella).”
