Well, this has been an interesting week for fan mail…
I don’t know if you guys remember this youtube video (I think Selena posted it back in 2008) but it was just a minute or two of Selena responding to fan mail.
Feeling inspired I sent in a letter. And I didn’t hear anything back. So last summer (within a week of when I sent my fan letter to Debby Ryan) I tried again.
Well, today I got a response! Although I’ll probably never know if it was in response to the first or second letter…
Cool huh? Well, not really. I’m not 100% sure, but I’m pretty sure it’s a pre-print, not a “real” autograph. And it’s only a 5×7 print (I guess to save money and postage costs).
Still, at least I got a response which is more I’ve gotten from most. I’m just spoiled, I guess. 🙂

Spain, France, U.K., Germany– Thank you all so much for making me feel so at home while I was on this promo tour. Putting out an album has always been a dream of mine, getting to tour that album all over the world and meeting my fans everywhere was apart of that dream, I can not express how grateful I am for this experience, for my album, for the tour and most of all for all of YOU… I hope you all enjoy the record, I cannot wait to make it back out to see you guys and hopefully do some shows! America– I had a wonderful time in Europe but, I do miss home very, very much. I am very excited to start working again and I couldn’t pick a better place to live while I shoot my movie BUT I also can’t wait to get back to see all of my family, friends, and fans! The rest of the world– I hope to come visit you all very soon so I can meet everyone and see all the beautiful places there are out there! Thank you all so much for your continued love and support it allows me to be able to do what I love to do and I thank you for that. You are all the greatest fans ever. EVER. I am off to Budapest to work on my newest adventure.. my movie “Monte Carlo”!! I am very excited to meet the cast and get started on this great movie. I don’t know how much internet access I am going to have while I am gone but I will do my best to keep in touch as often as I can and try and send some pictures too. So, it looks like she’s gonna be out of the country through July. When she’ll then, hopefully, have a chance to do that concert tour she’s been talking about for the past six months. And then, with any luck, Wizards season four. But we’ll see how it goes.
Well, it’s good to see Disney care enough for their fans to send a preprint not-actually-signed autograph for their biggest fans.
Spoiled? Spoiled you say? A yea you are. Plus they should respond to ya as well as the others you send out letters too because aren’t like all them in SoCal and Hollywood area? And aren’t you there too? So it’s shouldn’t too be too much trouble for them to mail in state one would think. And after meeting her in person ya still get another signed pic, weather pre or not? I would definitely say you’re spoiled with celeb script fortune.
Never mind, I have quick math lesson for you.
Let’s say she gets like 1000 letters every day. Which considering “Naturally” just went platinum, doesn’t seem out of the realm of posibility.
Now let’s say she has an hour every day to spend on fanmail. And that it takes ~40 seconds to pick up a photo, sign it, and reach for another. She could sign about 100 each day. So every day she’d fall another 9 days behind. So since I sent my letter ~18 months after she became popular, she would have already been 172 months behind. That’s only 14 years.
I’d rather get the preprint not than a real autograph a decade from now. Heck, I don’t think I’d even get mail sent to this address anymore!
sure! her so much mail arrives, it does not have time to reply to all, especially the letters from fans, but this response on the one hand and good, but I can not remember when the stars responded to the letter of their fans, and this is an autographed photo a few encouraging I hope this picture …. true
Like I said before, she can’t reply to everyone. She’d never have time to do anything else!
