Big News about Good Luck Charlie!
We’ve known for a little while that Good Luck Charlie is set to premiere on April 4th immediately following the premiere of High School Musical 3.
But now we know that Disney is going to offer a “free preview” (the whole episode?) on iTunes this Friday! And the entire episode will be on Disney on Demand two weeks from today.
We’ve also learned that the title song is called “Hang In There Baby” by Bridgit Mendler. I’ve actually heard it once before, but everyone was so noisy I could hear much except the beat. LOL
And then on the Monday after the show premieres, they’re gonna offer a second new episode exclusively online.
It’s a little different than how they’ve premiered shows before. With more emphasis on building buzz and using technology. It’ll probably work, but sometimes I think they’re just making things unnecessarily complicated. I mean, just show the dang episode! LOL
Anyway, here’s a new promo (three whole minutes!) for the series. Most of the scenes are from the first episode, but there are a few scenes (like the photoshoot) that I haven’t seen before!
Anyway, the official Disney press release follows:
“GOOD LUCK CHARLIE,” A SITCOM FOR EVERYONE IN THE HOUSE,
PREMIERES SUNDAY, APRIL 4 (8:30 P.M., ET/PT) ON DISNEY CHANNELLead-in is Network Premiere of “High School Musical 3: Senior Year”
A sitcom geared towards the whole family, “Good Luck Charlie,” will premiere SUNDAY, APRIL 4 (8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. The comedy revolves around what happens when a new baby joins the Duncan household and roles shift for everyone in the family, including teen siblings PJ and Teddy and tween brother Gabe who must adjust to the many changes baby Charlie brings. Before they know it, she’s sitting up, crawling, walking and running — requiring them to team up and help their parents, Bob and Amy, look after the cute little newcomer. In each episode Teddy creates a personalized video diary for Charlie, an older sister telling her baby sister about all the things she’ll help her learn as she grows up.
The series’ lead-in is the highly anticipated premiere of “High School Musical 3: Senior Year.”
In the premiere episode, “Study Date,” Amy is fretting as she returns to work as a nurse, but Bob reassures her that they have a support system to care for Charlie. That is until Teddy’s distracted by a study session with a cute classmate, PJ is trying to have a jam session with his friend and Gabe is feeling as if their territory has been invaded. When Bob slips and falls on the stairs, Charlie is put in the sole care of Teddy and PJ drives his dad to the hospital where they go to great lengths to avoid mom.
The talented “Good Luck Charlie” cast is: Bridgit Mendler (“Wizards of Waverly Place”) as Teddy, Jason Dolley (“Cory in the House”) as PJ, Bradley Steven Perry as Gabe, Leigh-Allyn Baker (“Will & Grace”) as Amy, Eric Allan Kramer (“My Name Is Earl”) as Bob, and newcomer Mia Talerico as Charlie.
The creative team includes several network sitcom veterans led by series creators Phil Baker and Drew Vaupen (“Suddenly Susan” and “What I Like About You”), who also serve as executive producers with Dan Staley (“Cheers,” “Love & Money”).
