Debby Ryan’s 16 Wishes
Well, we’ve known for a while that Debby’s been shooting a new DCOM called “16 Wishes” in Vancouver.
But now we finally have some details courtesy of Stitch Kingdom and twitter.
Debby Ryan of Disney Channel’s The Suite Life on Deck will co-star with Kyle XY’s Jean-Luc Bilodeau in a new Disney Channel original movie set to premiere during summer 2010.
Ryan plays Abby Jensen, who has been planning her 16th birthday for the longest time. She has a secret wish list taped to her closet door, and on her big day a box of Sweet Sixteen Birthday Candles arrives, each of which corresponds to a wish on her list. As her wishes come true, her day gets better and better until she makes a wish that changes everything.
“We are excited to be in business with the Disney-ABC Cable Networks Group and Disney Channel in the U.S. and around the world,” commented Fernando Szew, the CEO of MarVista Entertainment. “We are confident that we have jointly come up with all the key elements that constitute a successful co-production including a fantastically written, fast-paced, comedic script; a wonderful cast and crew, and a bona fide star in Debby Ryan.”
“Sixteen Wishes is a funny and aspirational movie about a young girl who realizes the true meaning of the universal theme, be careful what you wish for,” added David Levine, the VP of worldwide programming strategy, acquisitions and co-productions for Disney Channels Worldwide. “Disney Channel star Debby Ryan brings a unique charm and vulnerability to the role of Abby, one that we know our audience will embrace.”
Surprisingly, it sounds like this will be the “back to school” DCOM that airs in August of this year! I know they got did a quick turn around on Starstruck, but I’m still surprised. Especially with Camp rock 2 in post for almost a full year.
But I must say, I’m glad that Debby’s back to work on Suite Life:

I have a feeling this is gonna be the last season for On Deck. So who knows what Debby’s gonna do next. Disney would be smart to put her in a new series, but who know?

I am so happy about Debby Ryan’s first Disney Channel Original Movie can wait to see it it’s call 16 wishes.

Man, I hope we FINALLY get to see Debby in something hot and sexy like short shorts or a bikini. I can’t believe she’s spend 3 seasons on a ship and we don’t get to see her in anything that goes much above her knees. Come on Debby show us those legs!

I thought the Suite life on deck wasn’t fantasy, cuz not wearing a bikini on a cruise… that’s fairytale weird.
