Disney press release follows:

Disney XD orders “Pair of Kings” a live-action comedy series for kids and families about two fraternal twins who are living a typical teenage life in Chicago, but unbeknownst to them, are the successors to the throne of The Island of Kinkou. The multi-camera series will begin production in Hollywood in March 2010 and begin airing in Fall 2010 around the world.

Starring are popular actor and Walt Disney Records recording artist Mitchel Musso (“Hannah Montana,” “Phineas and Ferb”) as Brady and Doc Shaw (“The Suite Life on Deck” and “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne”) as Boomer.

The series follows 16-year-old fraternal twins, Brady and Boomer, who lead a typical teenage life while being raised by their aunt and uncle in Chicago. But when Mason, the Royal Secretary to the Throne of the Island of Kinkou, arrives at their High School to inform the stunned boys of their extraordinary lineage, their lives are about to change drastically. Now, Brady and Boomer must relocate to the island to claim their throne as joint Kings of an island filled with odd superstitions and customs –while trying not to cause havoc at every turn. Their efforts are often helped and hindered by Mason’s adorable daughter, Mikayla, and a disgruntled cousin and wannabe king, Lanny, who’s out to sabotage them and steal the throne.

Rounding out the cast is Geno Segers (touring production of Disney’s “The Lion King”) as Mason, Kelsey Chow (“One Tree Hill”) as Mikayla and Ryan Ochoa (Disney’s “A Christmas Carol”) as Lanny.

The series was created and executive-produced by Dan Cross and Dave Hoge from Disney XD’s “Aaron Stone” and the UPN’s “One on One.” Matt Wickline (“Frank TV,” “The Hughleys”) will also serve as executive producer, Leo Clarke (“Frank TV,” “The Steve Harvey Show”) as producer and Don Beck (“Reba,” “8 Simple Rules”) as consulting producer. “Pair of Kings” is produced by It’s A Laugh Productions, Inc.

In other DXD news, their new series I’m in the Band, “a music-filled, live-action comedy series for kids and families about a teenager who realizes his wildest dream when he joins his favorite “vintage” rock band,” is set to premiere Monday January 18th.

Soooooo is Mitchel not doing season 4 of HM?

  2. Bill Schlichting says:

I wonder. Ever notice that Mitchel hasn’t been any of the recent season 3 episodes of HM? Oliver is mentioned by name only, such as in the episode about Lilly’s birthday where it’s said that Oliver has a bad cold.

  3. Webmaster Greg says:

Mitchel had a big role in that singing episode.

And supposedly he’s gonna work on this new show and HM at the same time. We’ll see how well that plan works.

  4. meiamj says:

Yeah in adding he mentioned he was preparing for tour and recording during S3 tapings so he missed episodes. Now with this new series coming on XD he earned by being super over among Disney fans and Doc Shaw tagging along is…
But this means to be that S3 will mostly be the end of SLoD with perhaps a ending DCOM later. So look for Debby to perhaps be picked up for a DCOM or another project to use her fame from SLoD.
HM S4 taping should be starting in two months and the cast including Mitchel and Miley have said that these final 13 episodes will be it for HM. Now that means for TV episodes but does not rule out a DCOM or actual movie for closure. Plus Mitchel has claimed he will be apart of S4 HM. So what this tells me is that the new XD series must tape after HM S4 wraps and SLoD S3 wraps so both Doc and Mitchel can begin the other. Trouble is where is time for music work from Mitchel who I’m sure would want to work on a second album. This first part of 2010 is going to be busy in Disney world.

i hope debby does more for disney.
after hm season 4 emily will probily go and do more movies and tour when her full album comes out in march.

  6. Webmaster Greg says:

HM season 4 should be the end. The last two episodes are a two-parter that’s supposed to wrap things up probably.

And it’s no coincidence that Emily’s worked out her schedule so that her album drops just as she finished work on HM. She’ll breeze straight from HM into her new music career.

Only three seasons of On Deck? The season four go / no-go decision is still a good 10 months off. A lot can change between now and then.

  7. meiamj says:

10 months but the boys voices has changed and they would be 17 going 18 not to mention Brenda will be 22. I have a feeling S3 will be the end on TV and the same for WoWP, after their extended S3 that should wrap for them too. That magical age of becoming too old approaches fast. Look at Ashley, Vanessa, Zac and Corbin are all gone from Disney Channel.

  8. Webmaster Greg says:

Yeah, Disney knows they gotta grab their stars wile they’re young and film as much as they can as fast as they can. But what difference does 16 vs 17 or 22 vs 23 really make?

  9. meiamj says:

Not alot for me those young ages make but for Disney a year is huge. Since they deal with such young people when their bodies change so fast filming and planning is of the most importance.

  10. Webmaster Greg says:

I’m just saying I see no reason why they can’t make a season four.

  11. meiamj says:

That’s totally possible to have a S4 I just don’t have much faith as something else will come down the pipe like S2 of GLC.

  12. Bill Schlichting says:

The only good thing about getting older when acting for Disney is that in 15-20 years, the actor can come back and play the mom or dad, the teacher or …

  13. Webmaster Greg says:

They can’t end Hannah, Wizards, and Suite Life all at the same time. There won’t be anything left except Sonny.

  14. Bill Schlichting says:

What about the new shows they are coming out with?

  15. meiamj says:

And what’s wrong with only Sonny being left over? GLC and JONAS will still be on; plus I think we’ll see more Zeke & Luther on DC. But clearly SWAC can monopolize as it should.

  16. Webmaster Greg says:

“JONAS will still be on” Noooooooo!

LOL, I guess I forget that one.

And GLC can’t replace THREE shows. And there’s nothing else live-action in the works for DC.

  18. never mind says:

i think this show will be great! fingers crossed that meaghan martin and selena gomez make some guest appearances

  19. Webmaster Greg says:

I doubt we’ll see Selena making anymore guest appearances. But you never know.

  20. meiamj says:

I kinda agree with that G now. Looks like Demi got the last guest from her on SWAC. Unless DC does another cross-over mix with Wizards.

  21. never mind says:

yeah, a crossover of Wizards, SWAC and JONAS would be too cool

  22. meiamj says:

I’d watch except Suite Life has to be involved cause they always have been since beginning of cross-overs. Their boat can dock in LA and attend the So Random! tv taping.

  23. dcfan says:

ashley is still with disney doing candace’s voice for p&f.

  24. haley says:

Aly an Aj are so rocking
