Selena Gomez’s CD Signing in Costa Mesa
Today (10/03/09) Selena Gomez had a CD signing at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA to promote her new album, “Kiss and Tell.”
I got there four hours early, shortly before 9AM And there was already an epic line!
In the photo above, the line stretches all the way to the building, across to the right, and into the Mall!
They gave wrist bands to each group, and I was in the 400th – 500th group. By noon, the officials where estimating the line to be at least 200 people!
She was scheduled to sign for three hours, and I finally got up to her two hours after she started signing. (Six hours total wait.)
I wasn’t allowed to take a picture with her, but I do have some great shots from close up! (Click any of the photos to see the whole set)
She hugged this one little girl, and lifted her clear off the ground!
The thing I love most about Selena is that she really, honestly, cares about her fans.
She wrote on her twitter: “After 5 hrs and 4,722 signed copies of the cd I got 50 handmade bracelets. This just proves I have the best fans!”
And she posted this picture:
All I gave her was a card letting her know about Save Disney Shows and My Selena Gomez Fansite.
I’ve done a lot of amazing things, many of them just in the past month, but actually meeting Selena tops them all. I’m not sure if I remembered to breathe. My heart was racing for at least an hour after wards. I’d have loved to have a picture with her, but it’s more important that her other fans got the chance to meet her. And I’m sure even with the extra two hours that she couldn’t get to everyone.
If you see this Selena, I want to thank you on behalf of all your fans. It was a long and at times frustrating ordeal, but it was totally worth it.

Wow G. Ya met all your life’s goals with this. Well looks like there’s nothing more for ya.
I’m really glad ya got the opportunity to talk and meet her. We all know she was the one you wanna to. Thanks for sharing and I hope Selena does check out all your hard work not just for her fansite but for all her Disney friends fansites.
And I see six hours was well wroth your time to complete one’s life work as those hours and frustration leaves you with a lifetimes of memories.

Now you’re still going to see Selena next month right? So there is another goal knocked off. And you’ve been close enough at performances for Ashley and Demi so that’s should be good enough.
Oh and I probably won’t kill myself just yet as part of the fun of livng on this planet is the challenge or suffering.

Being close at a show does not compare to meeting them. Because the meeting allows me to tell them about my fansites and Save Disney Shows.

I am so jealous… but I am happy for you. Selena is such a sweet person. I am sure every single person she signed for / met, walked away happier. If I could give anyone in the whole world a hug it would be Selena. Yay for you and thanks for sharing your great story and pictures.

Casey, the thing that was so amazing to see was just how much really she cares about her fans. It was originally scheduled as a two hour signing and she stuck around signing almost nonstop for five hours! That’s just amazing!

Hearing those types of things where the artist/celebrity hangs out for several hours later is awesome. Taylor Swift is also known to do this at events, stick around after time is up. I respect them alot for doing this as it is on their own accord and not because they have to.

She is the best G and a leg up cause she did not have priv of being with Disney to be promoted. All independent, that’s gotta mean alot for a virtual nobody to become a huge star.

I’m counting G down to May 2010. She has extended her tour to include Quad Cities and I think I shall have a party there. Now I know it’s seven months away but you are invited to hang and see one amazing live performance from her except it’s like really far away for you

Well ya still have seven months but it’s gettin closer. We’re gonna have a big partay in downtown Moline Saturday night after the show, lol; cause it’s Moline and like nothin goes on there.

i’m stunned and so jealous. there. now that’s out of my system. i am so happy for you dude. that is a very cool thing. i remember reading about the signing and all. i don’t live in so-cal so my chances of ever seeing Sel live are nil. i do live in Cali, maybe she’ll do a show here. i’ll be front row. i just want to bask in her glory. i’d freeze up if it came to talking to her. and i’m very comfortable with myself and conversing easily with girls and all. but she is on a different level. to me. you got some pretty pictures of her. did you hear her voice? so cute. did you see if she was small? there are so many questions i’d like to ask. but right now i just need to go lay down. and , pull, the covers, up over my, hed.

the biggest thing i can think of right now is that she IS SO GOOD TO HER FANS. she always puts them first. i am ever impressed and amazed by her. she’s the girl i used to dream of but never met.

mysphit, so by process of elimination, you live in nor-cal?
I got like 15 seconds with her. I stammered out a “Hi Selena” and then quickly told her about my websites.
It was amazing to see how much Selena cares about her fans. And that’s going to serve her well in her career.

i live in Cent-Cal. which is by some definitions so-cal-north.? Sele is good to her fans. i think she genuinely cares. You can see it on the fans faces. and you can see it on her face.

I think the general rule is that Bakersfield is the dividing line between northern and southern California.
And I’ve never seen any celebrity hug anywhere near as many fans in their entire careers as I’ve seen Selena hug in person. I mean, just look at that 5th photo I posted. If that doesn’t say it, I don’t know what does!

Hi Aishwarya, now that you mention it, it seems strange that DC stars hardly ever visit India. It seems like they’re always on tour in south America. LOL

Selena gomez is such a beautiful creature.
I’ve been following Selena since she was like 14! Such perfection even before maturity.
She’s been developing nicely. I waited outside of the set Wizards of Waverly Place to touch her hand.
I would love to tell her how I feel about her someday!

It is like, impossible to speak coherently in her presence. LOL
I just kinda rambled and she was like “thanks” and that was it. Not my best first impression.
But she is, hands down, the most amazing young woman I have ever met.

It was tough for me too. I almost fainted when she smiled at me.

I didn’t actually touch her. I so wanted a hug like it seemed everyone else got, but I was sick, and I didn’t want to infect her.
And at the event I was at, there where some 5,000 people she met. I highly doubt she can remember any of us.
