Disney has begun production on a new animated series that revolves around the lives of fish that attend school in the middle of a large pet store fish tank.
The idea, of course, is to explore the “traditional teen issues” in a way that hasn’t been done before.
Wait, isn’t there a popular animated show about sea creatures on Nickelodeon? Sponge something? Oh wait, those are ocean dwellers, never mind.
I’ll certainly give it a fair shake when it premieres in 2010. Chelsea Staub is excited to be voicing “an overly dramatic goldfish!” and that’s more than enough to make me interested.
What follows is the official Disney press release:
Production has begun on “Fish Hooks” (working title), an animated comedy series centered around three aquatic friends in a fish tank, produced using an innovative mixture of 2-D digital animation and photo collage by Disney Television Animation for Disney Channels Worldwide. “Fish Hooks” is scheduled to premiere Fall 2010. The announcement was made today by Gary Marsh, President, Entertainment, Disney Channels Worldwide.
“The ‘Fish Hooks’ team has created one of the most original, inventive animated series on television – bringing an ingenious twist to the classic archetypes of high school life (where else but in the world of a high school fish tank would you find characters named Piranica, Clamantha or Jocktopus?),” said Marsh.
The 21-episode series follows Milo, Oscar and Bea, three friends and neighbors who attend Freshwater High, a school submerged in a giant fish tank in the center of a local pet store. Together they experience the typical challenges and triumphs of tween life, like friendship, dating and sports, along with more atypical teen issues like giant lobster attacks and school field trips to the hamster cages.
The series was created by children’s book illustrator Noah Z. Jones, developed for television by Alex Hirsch (“The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack”) and Bill Reiss (“Chowder”), executive-produced by Adam Burton (“The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy”) and co-executive produced by Noah Z. Jones. Carl Greenblatt (“Chowder”) and Bill Reiss will direct.
“Fish Hooks” features a talented voice cast including Kyle Massey (“Cory in the House”) as Milo, an adventurous party guy; Chelsea Staub (“JONAS”) as Bea, an overly dramatic goldfish; and Justin Roiland (“The Sarah Silverman Program”) as Oscar, Milo’s neurotic brother.
Okay, I’ll admit it, I’m excited for Camp Rock 2. I wanna see Demi and Meghan singing on my TV again. I miss that, and I’ll willing to overlook the Jonas Brothers to get that! I also posted Disney’s press release about the cast and plot a few months back.
Anyway, here’s the untagged Camp Rock 2 Poster:

An awesome photo from the “Bounce” video Nick put together while they where up in Toronto for CR2:
Doesn’t Demi look awesome?
Well, that about does it. but before I end this, here’s one more random picture of Demi that I’ve wanted to post.
Debby was nice enough to share her improvised Halloween costume. On twitter she wrote: “I didn’t want anything skanky, but it had to be fun, comfy, and original..”
Aww, I like skanky. Halloween’s the one day that good girls don’t have to be so good. LOL
Anyway, here’s Debby’s alter ego, Dee Ry.
“I already owned all of these pieces. [except Chase's jeans!]”
I realized I never commented on Miley deleting her twitter, so if you’re already over that, you can just stop reading this post now.
That said, I’m really ticked off. Twitter is an amazing tool for keeping up with people – both friends and celebs. And those little random thoughts are, in my opinion, the best way that we can get a feel for any celeb as a person. Not to mention the pictures. I mean, now how we know when Miley’s face matches a cupcake?
I think Miles has made up her mind here. So Ijust hope that she doesn’t start a trend. Yes, kids now a days probably are a bit too addicted to technology. I’m probably a tad addicted too – okay I am totally addicted – but just walking away isn’t the answer. All good things in moderation.
Anyway, here’s Miley’s letter to the fans explaining her decision:
To my dearest fans,
You all are the closest thing to my heart & it breaks my spirit to hear that some of you feel neglected since I deleted my twitter. It was a wonderful way to stay connected to you & I really felt like during that time we became very much like friends. Twitter is a beautiful thing if used for the right reason. I love my job so much that it is hard to believe sometimes that it is considered “working. But, in the end it is still a business and I do need some sort of a “normal” life as well. I often complain to the ones closest to me that I don’t seem to have much of a private life any more and part of that is my fault. How can I whine about my life being to public if I am the one telling the world what I am doing? Some things in my life need to say in my life only and not on some gossip site. I never want any of my fans to feel like I don’t love them or care about them BUT, sharing the same love and respect for me I need to have the space to grow as a person and make some mistakes. I need to be able to live and learn in private. I never want to quit entertaining it is my life, my love, and my passion but I can’t have my personal life be other peoples entertainment.
Twitter is not the only thing I am cutting back on. This is not an attack against this particular site, I just think kids all over the world could maybe take a little vacation from Cyberspace. My problem with the internet is it makes negativity so available. It allows people to anonymously hurt others without any consequences. That is not the real world. Not only that, but if we spent more time enjoying what we are doing besides tweeting about it, we would enjoy our lives a whole lot more. I have very little free time and the moments that I do have I should be spending with my family and friends and loving every minute of their company.
Now of course rumors have been started that Liam is the reason that I deleted my twitter. I hope my true fans know how stupid that is. I had mentioned to him that someone made a fake twitter with his name and we both starting chatting about how ridiculous it is. Liam is a wonderful friend and he did not try to make me delete my page, he just helped me realize how much time I was wasting on that site.
I really hope you all know how much you mean to me and how much I truly care about each and every one of you. I will keep in touch through Mileyworld and MileyCyrus.com as I did before twitter. I love you all.
Blessings
Miley Cyrus
At least she takes the time to explain where she comes from. That’s something that’s hard to get now a days, especially from judges and politicians…
I hope Dylan and Cole aren’t feeling typecast! This will make the 7th season for their characters! I still liked the original series better (mostly ’cause it had Ashley Tisdale) but the spin off is also very well done, and it deserves to continue. And I certainly won’t complain about seeing more of Debby Ryan.
Speaking of Debby, here’s a video of Debby jumping on the trampoline during Mattel’s 10th Anual Party on the Pier this past Saturday at the Pacific Park in Santa Monica.
What follows is Disney’s press release about the renewal of the show:
