Disney Channel Fans

A few moments ago, Selena wrote on her Twitter: “P.s. My first concert is in 4 days……. (gulp).” Which I assume would be this coming Saturday 9/26/09. I’m probably working that day, but I would still like to know where she’s gonna be playing!

I’ve tried all the event summary websites like eventful, and I’ve tried the website of every LA venue I’ve ever been to (The Roxy, the Wiltern, etc.).

I can’t find a single mention of this, anywhere online! No one is this good at keeping a secret!

My only guess is that it’s going to be a private show. Otherwise someone outside of Selena’s circle would know about it and leak it.

I’m sure I’ll get to see Selena eventually, but this mystery is driving me nuts! So please, if anyone finds anything please let me know!

EDIT: I don’t know why i didn’t check her facebook until now: “My first show EVER, in L.A. this Saturday it is a private show with invites only I will be passing out invites all this week. Maybe even doing a twitter contest!!!”

So it is a private show. That’s what I suspected. Well, I probably couldn’t go anyway.

I think it’s great that Disney is starting to allow more and more of these two and three part episode specials. While they tend not to do as well in repeats they do get phenomenal ratings when they premiere.  But even more important than that, two part episodes allow the writers to tell fuller stories that wouldn’t necessarily fit into a traditional episode.

Zack, Cody, London, Bailey and Woody are lost at sea in a new one-hour special episode of “The Suite Life on Deck,” premiering FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. Viewers go around the world to the S.S. Tipton’s ports of call during a week-long programming event.

In “Lost At Sea,” Zack, Cody, London, Bailey and Woody find themselves stranded on a deserted island when Woody accidentally hits the release lever on a lifeboat and the gang drifts out to sea. Zack hops into action, putting his survival tactics to use, while London takes it all in stride, believing that they have found a remote five-star resort. When Mr. Moseby realizes that the kids are missing, he sets off on a search to find them.

Beginning Monday, September 28 (7:30 p.m., ET/PT) and continuing throughout the rest of the week, Disney Channel will air a special lineup of episodes that highlight the exotic locales where the S.S. Tipton has laid anchor.

“The Suite Life on Deck” stars Dylan Sprouse as Zack Martin, Cole Sprouse as Cody Martin, Brenda Song as London Tipton, Debby Ryan as Bailey Pickett and Phill Lewis as Mr. Moseby. Matthew Timmons has a recurring role as Woody and Erin Cardillo as Ms. Tuttweiler. The series is executive-produced by Danny Kallis (“Smart Guy,” “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper”), Pamela Eells O’Connell (“Family Matters”), Jim Geoghan (“Family Matters”) and Irene Dreayer (“Sister, Sister,” “Smart Guy”). “The Suite Life on Deck” is produced by It’s A Laugh Productions for Disney Channel.

Before I post the press release about Radio Disney’s NBT contest (hosted by Tiff) I wanted to post this set of photos of Tiffany Thornton at the Bandslam premiere in LA. It seems like everyone was there for that!

Radio Disney, which Billboard magazine ranked among the Top 20 on its Maximum Exposure list of ways to get music noticed, will launch an all-new edition of its “Next Big Thing” (N.B.T.), a daily multi-platform programming feature that puts the spotlight on young recording artists and provides them with national broadcast and online exposure. Over the course of 10 weeks, beginning WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, Radio Disney listeners will be introduced to five unsigned N.B.T. artists, age 12-17, and invited to look, listen and vote for their favorite at RadioDisney.com or by texting* “NBT” to DISNEY (347639). The highest ranked N.B.T. artist will have the opportunity to have their single featured on the upcoming Walt Disney Records’ Radio Disney Jams 12 CD. Simultaneously, Disney Channel will present a preview of each artist and a sampling of their musical talent in interstitials hosted by Tiffany Thornton (“Sonny With a Chance”).

The showcase includes interviews and in-studio performances with a new “N.B.T.” artist introduced every two weeks. During each showcase period, each artist’s single will be on the playlist and they will co-host an hour of the Top 30 Countdown on Radio Disney and be featured in five profile segments on Disney Channel. Each artist will also have two full songs, exclusive videos, photos and bios on RadioDisney.com. Videos will also be featured on Disney.com, the N.B.T. mobile website (http://radiodisney.mobi/nbt), and Radio Disney’s YouTube Channel (www.youtube.com/radiodisney).

Radio Disney is a 24-hour contemporary hits radio network and the only broadcast radio destination that serves both a kid and family audience. Billboard magazine (September 22, 2008) cited Radio Disney at #18 among the Top 100 best ways to get music noticed. If you listened to Selena’s live chat on Wednesday, you know she announced an upcoming Radio Disney Planet Premiere for her new album. Below I have the full schedule for when they’re supposed to be playing what.

I might catch the Planet Premiere of the full album on Saturday, but I’ll probably just wait until I have the physical CD on the 29th.

On day three of the Expo, I was able to meet my two favorite Disney blonds, Tiffany Thornton and Chelsea Staub!

I don’t know how I was able to breathe, let alone talk, while in Tiffany’s presence. She is just one of the most amazing people, well, ever. I was able to tell her about TiffanyThornton.us and Sonny-with-a-Chance.com!

I can’t remember meeting Chelsea very well, as I was still stunned from meeting Tiffany only moments earlier. But I know I was able to tell her about ChelseaStaub.ws and that I loved her in Minute Men.

Prior to the signing, Chelsea and Tiffany had an audience Q&A session at the Radio disney booth. The full Q&A was some 40 minutes, and I was able to sneak a little bit of video for you all.

This first one is about what to expect on SWAC and JONAS.

This one was what happened when a really little girl asked about promice rings – and why neither Tiffany or Chelsea have one.

And this last one is about how each got her start in Hollywood. Watch for when Tiffany exclaims “What the Heck!?”

I’m excited! Less than a week until I see Miley on her second headlining tour. I didn’t go last time (and regretted it) so I hope I have fun this time.

Don’t expect great photos from the event, as there’s like no chance that I actually get a camera in there. A through review and maybe a couple camera phone pics will be what you get from me this time next week.

New Sonny with a chance Screencaps. “Sonny In The Kitchen With Dinner” is one of my favorite episodes to date, second only to “Battle of the Networks’ Stars.”

This episode is the first time that we’ve seen Tawni express any interest in a guy.

Where is Tween Weekly get a high res photo for their cover? And what a coincidence that they just happened to be printing the new issue for the day after the kiss. LOL

So Sonny get’s Tawni another date. And I just noticed Tawni has a framed picture of herself on that table.

I guess Sonny could use that blanket with arms that she was trying to order earlier.

Tawni looks so freakin’ adorable! I don’t know why Sonny took her hat.

Looks like Sonny needs a new phone.

And some sort of lock-picking set might be helpful as well.
