Emily Osment Signs With Wind-Up Records

Actress, Singer, Songwriter To Release First Album In 2010

NEW YORK, July 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Emily Osment, one of the stars of TV’s “Hannah Montana,” has signed with Wind-Up Records. The 17 year old actress/ singer /songwriter, who was just nominated for two “Teen Choice” awards, has already begun recording her first album, for which she co-wrote all the songs. The album has a planned 2010 release.

Edward Vetri, President of Wind-Up Records, says of the signing “We have been closely following Emily’s music career, through music promoted in films and on television. After meeting her and listening to her demos, it was very clear that she is extremely passionate about her music, is a talented songwriter and has a certain edge to her vocals that will distinguish her from her contemporaries. We are very excited to be in a 360 music partnership with Emily and look forward to a long and successful music career.”

Emily shot a video this month for the song “All The Way Up,” which she co-wrote with Max Collins and Tony Fagenson from the band Eve 6. Emily’s friends from the band Push Play joined her in the video, which will be released this summer.

“I am so excited I am getting the chance to finally share my music with everyone” Emily says. “I have been playing guitar and writing songs since I was little so it seems like this album has been in process for years. The opportunities and amazing people I have been so fortunate to work with have literally been a dream come true. I can’t wait for all of my very patient fans to hear the music that’s been such a huge part of my life for the past two years.”

Although this is Emily’s first album, in 2008 the budding vocalist recorded the song “I Don’t Think About It” for the film “The Haunting Hour: Don’t Think About It”, in which she also starred. The song was number one for 9 weeks on Radio Disney and to this date has sold more than 300,000 downloads. In 2008, Emily also recorded a remake of “Once Upon A Dream” for the 50(th) anniversary Platinum Edition release of “Sleeping Beauty”. The video for the song drew 900,000 YouTube views in less than four days. Earlier this year, Emily starred in the Disney Channel movie “Dadnapped” for which she also recorded the song “The Hero In Me”. Emily currently has over 200,000 followers on Twitter. And look at that, I just happen to have a picture of Selena using her laptop on the set of the Wizards movie.

Tiffany Thornton Q & A

Posted on: Wednesday, July 15th, 2009 in: Tiffany Thornton

Tiff posted a pretty extensive Q & A on her twitter a week ago. I saved all the text and reorganized it to make it more readable. I also cleaned up the grammar and spelling. :)

Finally! Selena on Sonny Screencaps

Posted on: Monday, July 13th, 2009 in: Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Sonny with a Chance, Tiffany Thornton

Sorry, but I enjoy saying “Selena on Sonny” so I had to sneak it in one more time. ;)

Sonny with a chance Battle of the Networks' Stars

At least Sonny seems excited about it. Anyway, I’ve finally uploaded screencaps from “Battle of the Networks’ Stars.” I had a issue with my recorded video file from the day of the premiere, and had to wait for a repeat to re-record it.

Hands down, this is my favorite episode of the series. Not only does it feature Selena Gomez,

Sonny with a chance Battle of the Networks' Stars

… but it also has great plot continuity (reenacting a scene from “Sonny at the Falls”), and some great Chad/Sonny moments.

As I’m sure everyone knows by now, this episode was about Chad’s movie, “Chad Dylan Cooper: The Chad Dylan Cooper Story.”

Sonny with a chance Battle of the Networks' Stars

My only real complaint was that I didn’t like how Tiffany didn’t get much screen time.

Sonny with a chance Battle of the Networks' Stars

Especially when there where all the fake Tawni’s running around.

Sonny with a chance Battle of the Networks' Stars

But it’s understandable. This episode is about Selena.

Sonny with a chance Battle of the Networks' Stars

Yep. Lots of Selena. :)

Sonny with a chance Battle of the Networks' Stars

And Demi trying to be Selena. LOL

Sonny with a chance Battle of the Networks' Stars

But nothing could ever beet the genius that was “Camp Hip Hop”! I’m still laughing!

Emily Osment Debut CD

Posted on: Sunday, July 12th, 2009 in: Emily Osment

I wondered when this was coming, and thanks to my pal meiamj now I know.

According to this article from USA Today, Emily Osment’s Debut CD is set to drop March 9th 2009.

Edit: Here’s the link to the text of the article at USA Today.

The only thing the article fails to mention, is who she’s signed with. I would assume Hollywood Records would have made an offer, but that doesn’t mean she’d necessarily take it.

As I learn more, I’ll post it.

Get ready for Wizards vs. Vampires!

Posted on: Saturday, July 11th, 2009 in: Bridgit Mendler, Selena Gomez, Wizards of Waverly Place

I’m really excited! Disney’s actually letting one of their shows have a four episode arc. They’ve always been against this sort of plot building, instead preferring stand alone episodes because they tend to do better in reruns. So I’m very happy to see Wizards having this opportunity!

Get ready for Wizards vs. Vampires!

What follows is the official Disney press release.

“Wizards of Waverly Place – Wizards vs. Vampires,” a four-episode programming event, follows the Russo family and their encounters with the Van Heusens, a family of vampires who own a competing sandwich shop, beginning FRIDAY, JULY 24 (8:00- 8:45 p.m. ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Guest Starring is Bridgit Mendler (“JONAS”) as Justin’s vampire girlfriend, Juliet Van Heusen, and Anne Ramsay (“Mad About You”) and JD Cullum (“Good Night, and Good Luck”) as vampire parents Cindy and Alucard Van Heusen.

The schedule is as follows:

FRIDAY, JULY 24 (8:00 – 8:45 p.m., ET/PT)
• “Wizards vs. Vampires on Waverly Place” – Business at the Waverly Sub Station is slow after the opening of a new neighborhood sandwich shop owned by vampires. Jerry sends Justin to spy on the establishment, but Justin meets and ends up falling for Juliet, the daughter of the competing shop’s vampire owners.

FRIDAY, JULY 31 (8:00 – 8:30 p.m., ET/PT)
• “Wizards vs. Vampires: Tasty Bites” – Justin’s new vampire girlfriend, Juliet, gets the Russos to change their lifestyle by adding healthy foods and exercise. However Alex is concerned about Juliet’s true intentions for Justin when she discovers that vampires like the taste of healthy blood.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 7 (8:00 – 8:30 p.m., ET/PT)
• “Wizards vs. Vampires: Dream Date” – After Dean moves away, Alex continues to date him by using magic to enter his dreams. When he pays her a surprise visit and the real date isn’t as great as she had dreamt, she searches for a way to break up with him. Meanwhile, Justin tells his vampire girlfriend, Juliet, that he is not allowed to go on her family camping trip.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 14 (8:00 – 8:30 p.m., ET/PT)
• “Wizards & Vampires vs. Zombies” – Justin convinces Juliet that their prom date will be the most memorable ever. Meanwhile, Alex opts to plan a zombie themed anti-prom, but is unprepared for the real zombies that arrive for the ultimate prom dance off.

Happy Birthday David Henrie!
