I watched Selena on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night. And oh my goodness did that first guest just not care that she’s sixteen? I don’t think Jimmy cared either by all the times he said she was “adorable” or “cute as a button.”
Selena’s gum trick was pretty cool too. Screencaps coming soon
What I wanna know is, why is only Selena promoting PPP? I know Demi has her concert tour starting on the weekend, but you’d think she could hit a talk show or two as well.
I’ve also uploaded some pics of Selena at the Women in Film 2009 Crystal And Lucy Awards.

So I hadn’t heard of the Grammy Museum or LA live before. I hadn’t even heard that they where building a huge new entertainment complex next to the Staples center. Now admitingly I don’t make it up that way very often (I think the last time was in 2004!) but I still thought I’d have heard of it.
Anyway, I was there on Thursday (06/11/09) to see Mandy Moore. But before I headed over to the venue, I decided to swing by Disneyland. I only had a couple hours at the parks, so I decided to spend it at DCA. Quite possibly the stupidest thing I have ever done, for unbeknownst to me, Selena Gomez was at Disneyland that day! In fact, had I simply checked twitter on my phone when I arrived, I’d have seen her tweet about eating a pickle at Disneyland: “I ate a pickle, ice cream, fries, corn dog, and corn at Disneyland. Hmm now what else is there to do here? Oh. I guess I could ride rides…”
But sadly, I did not check my twitter. As I got onto the tram several tween boys where seated right in front of me. And my ears perked up when I heard one of them mention Selena. Another clarified, “Selena Gomez, that girl from Camp Rock” Ar which point I realized that if they couldn’t keep Demi and Selena straight, they where probably idiots and tuned them out. Had I instead corrected them, I might have learned why they where taking about Selena.
I arrived at the Grammy Museum with a good hour to spare. And was the 15th or so person in line. Not too bad if I say so myself. As I stood outside the venue I pulled out my blackberry and checked Twitter. Once I saw Selena’s tweet, suddenly everything made sense and I quickly realized I had missed a possibly once in a lifetime opportunity. I mean, how often does one actually get the chance to meet a DC star? Even with SDS resources I had only met Amy.
Needless to say, I was bummed. But then I remembered I was 15th in line to see Mandy Moore. And I realized that this day was still gonna be beyond awesome. As the line grew longer, they took us inside the building, up to the second level, and into the theater. I end up in the front row of seats, which meant that there was both no on in front of me, and because we where sitting, that no one behind me would complain about my height.

The event was called “The Drop” in reference to the familiar phrase that signifies the release of the new album. The idea behind it, was to explore the process of creating the album. So we started with a rougly hour long interview and Q&A with the director of the Grammy Museum and Mandy Moore. Mandy told us a lot about Mike Viola who was in many ways her partner in producing this album. She had many great stories about the little house in Boston, and how they used the different acoustics of just about every room in the house on different parts on the album.

Following the end of the Q&A, Mandy preformed several songs acoustically, accompanied by Mike who had been hiding in the back the whole time.
Finally, following the end of her performance, Mandy autographed copies of her new CD. Sadly, the no photo rule was still in effect but I did get a moment with her and an autograph.

Another Twitter inspired post. I’m sensing a trend developing.
Anyway, Miley posted this picture of her and her mom yesterday:

First thought, “Trish is kinda wearing a low cut shirt for a mom. Way to set an example for your daughter.”
Second thought, “OMG! When did Miley get a nose piercing!?!?”
It’s small and unobtrusive, so I don’t have any problem with it, but in general, I don’t care for nose piercings. And honestly, I’m kinda surprided she got one – just because she has to know that now there are a ton of girls that are gonna want one because she did. And that’s gonna tick off at least a few parents.

Selena Gomez & Jennifer Stone where on hand at Disneyland last night for a special preview of Disneyland’s new “Summer Nightastic.”

Around 2PM on Thursday, Selena Tweeted: “I ate a pickle, ice cream, fries, corn dog, and corn at Disneyland. Hmm now what else is there to do here? Oh. I guess I could ride rides…”
And, here’s the funny part, I was also at the park that day. But I didn’t know that any of this was going on! So I left the park around 5:30pm because I was going to see Mandy Moore at the Grammy Museum in LA.
So, just try to imagine this, I’m standing in line in downtown LA waiting for the show to start, and I pull out my phone to update my twitter. And I see Sel’s post and realize that I just missed her!
Blah. I had a great time seeing Mandy, but I’m still pissed that I didn’t even know about the Selena thing!
What follows is an in depth article from D23 (I’m a member and they don’t even tell me!) about the Summer Nightastic Preview.
On Thursday, June 11, Disneyland was packed with summer guests, and D23 was invited for a peek at all the new happenings as Summer Nightastic! takes over the park this summer.
First stop was the new TLT Dance Club in Tomorrowland. Also known at the Tomorrowland Terrace, the TLT Dance Club is packing in the crowds with the new lights, videos screens and sound system playing today’s hottest tunes. The place burst into wild screams when guest performer Mitchel Musso of Hannah Montana fame took to the stage and rocked the house with a seven song set that included his hit “The In Crowd.” Look for other surprise guests to drop in on the Dance Club all summer long.
Following Mitchel’s mini concert, guests were escorted to Main Street, U.S.A. to watch the premiere of the summer fireworks spectacular, Magical. To start things off Disneyland’s Russ Marchand came out to talk all about the excitement of Summer Nightastic! before introducing the voice of the new Magical show, Broadway star (and Disneyland veteran performer!) Eden Espinosa. Eden wasn’t the only celebrity on hand; next Russ brought Wizards of Waverly Place stars Selena Gomez and Jennifer Stone on stage — what better way to kick off something “magical” that with some wizards? When Russ asked if they were having a good time at Disneyland that night, Selena replied, “How can you not?” before revealing they had blasted off on Space Mountain four times. Sorcerer Mickey came up on stage with a pair of sorcerer hats. “Oh my God!” exclaimed Selena, before donning the hat — and picking up a special Summer Nightastic! magic wand which they used to kick off the festivities.
At that moment, the magic of Magical took flight. Using new launches and fireworks, some classic Disney music (sung by Eden) not often heard in the parks like “Baby Mine” and “Chim Chim Cher-ee,” and a brand new Dumbo puppet that soars through the air, Magical indeed lived up to its name. And while the show will only run though August 23, Disneyland’s Director of Entertainment, Doug McIntyre, says it may return in 2010. “There’s a chance it will come back as our summer offering,” Doug revealed. “It will go back to Remember… Dreams Come True after the summer. We’re looking at some yet-to-be-announced possibilities for Halloween. Then we’ll have our Christmas show, and then back to Remember. And Magical could possibly become a summer offering.”
Following the fireworks, guests hit the Rivers of America to witness the enhancements to the already spectacular Fantasmic!. Thanks to HD technology, the projections now virtually leap off the screen — and they’re not the only things leaping! A new crocodile lurches and snaps at Captain Hook as he swims behind the pirate ship looking for a snack. Plus, Ursula’s “hench-eels” Flotsam and Jetsam now menacingly sweep through the waters. All these wonderful new characters posed exciting challenges to Disneyland’s creative team. “Obviously, any time you create new show elements — and Flotsam and Jetsem and the crocodile are examples of that — you go through some teething problems in testing and adjustments,” Doug explained. “Certainly we went through those but they worked out really great.” And Doug and his team aren’t done playing yet! “We talked tonight about making a new adjustment to Flotsam and Jetsam.” Currently the two slither out together from the same side of the river. “We’re talking about doing a version where they come from different sides of the river. We’re still learning as we see it.”
One thing guests didn’t see was the new Maleficent dragon, who wasn’t quite ready for her close up. “As one of the very few people who have seen the dragon in its functioning mode, I’m thrilled by the dragon,” Doug noted. “In our test-and-adjust period, we had a situation where we had a mechanical issue we knew we had to fix and we knew we weren’t going to be ready. So we’re working on that and will get it into the show as soon as we can.” And Doug says, when she makes her debut, guests won’t believe their eyes. “I think is going to be one of the most spectacular additions to a Disney show that’s ever been done. It’s certainly the largest Disney character that’s ever been created in animated mode. And it’s a huge leap from what the dragon used to be. This is full, three-dimensional, fully articulated, 45-foot-tall, 32-foot wingspan, with 18 axis of motion, it takes five computers to run the thing — it’s what you’d expect from Disney with all of the technology we have at our hands!”
Last, but certainly not least, it was over to Disney’s California Adventure to get a look at Disney’s Electrical Parade, which features a brand-new Tinker Bell float and the return of three other floats: the diamond mine from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and two from Pinocchio. All the floats glitter and gleam like new, with the help of LED technology (Alice in Wonderland’s Cheshire Cat now disappears!), and an enhanced soundtrack gives to depth to the musical elements of the parade. But the returning floats are sure to bring a smile to the face of any fan of the Electrical Parade. “The parade has almost been around the world,” Doug explained, when asked how the Snow White and Pinocchio floats found their way back into the show. “Here at Disneyland, then it went to Disney World for a while, then it went to Paris, and finally it ended up in Hong Kong. When we brought it back here, the diamond mine and the Pinocchio units were left behind in Hong Kong. They were sitting in a storage facility in Hong Kong.” WhenSummer Nightastic! was in the planning stages, Doug and his team thought it was the perfect time to bring them back from overseas. “So we called Hong Kong, shipped them out, refurbished them, and put them back in the parade.” Combining the perfect blend of exciting new offerings and emotional nostalgia, Summer Nightastic! is sure to be a crowd pleaser for any Disney fan.

It took me a while to track these down. None of my usual sources had these. And I would like to thank bubbleface for tipping me off to these.

These are apparently from last week (06/04/09) when Demi was in the Bahamas.

From the look of them, It looks like she’s poolside at a resort that had a good vantage point for the paparazzi.

I don’t think I’ll ever see her more attractive than that day I first saw her live, but these are pretty close.
I still think Demi and Selena need to hit the beach together, though.

Disney has just posted a press release about the new “Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana” event – a tripple episode crossover of “Wizards of Waverly Place”, “The Suite Life on Deck” and “Hannah Montana”, much like the previous “That’s So Suite Life of Hannah Montana.” Not only will the special event feature the lead characters of the three shows stumbling to each other, but also feature the secondary cast such as Jennifer Stone, Brenda Song, Jake T. Austin and more (unlike last time). It seems Disney is actually paying attention to the fans and learning from their mistakes The crossover event will premiere on July 17 for a 90-minute telecast at 8/7c.

“Cast-Away (To Another Show)” is the first half hour. Justin is excited to meet London Tipton when he wins the essay contest prize, a cruise on the SS Tipton. Alex and Max get to go aboard too, where Alex bonds with new BFF Bailey, but soon gets in hot water when she uses magic to bring Harper aboard. Max and Zack compete in a series of outrageous challenges.
In “Double-Crossed”, Hannah Montana boards the SS Tipton on her way to a concert performance in Honolulu. To impress Bailey, Cody enlists Woody to help him get tickets. Meanwhile, the Russos use a little magic to spice up their vacation – Alex pulls a prank on Justin, for which Mr. Moseby blames Zack, while Max introduces London to a magical suitcase.

The last segment is titled “Super(stitious) Girl”. While on the ship deck, Miley loses the charm ankle bracelet that her mother gave her and, when things start to go wrong, she is sure it’s because she lost her lucky charm. Cody tells Bailey that he has a close friendship with Hannah and promises great seats to her concert.
DisneyChannel.com will conduct a scavenger hunt sweepstakes to coincide with the program. Participants will be required to tune in to Disney Channel every night from July 12 to July 17 at 8/7c and answer the questions correctly to win the grand prize (Miley Stewart’s charm ankle bracelet, an SS Tipton life preserver signed by the stars and wands from “Wizards”).

Before we get to the pics, I wanted to say that last Sunday Selena was answering calls on her “Say it Now” phone (214-306-9590). If I hadn’t been working late that day, I probably would have found out in time. But oh well, I don’t know what I’d say anyway!
Anyway, she was shooting some Wizards Promos today. I like her hair.

And did everyone see Selena Guest Star on Sonny with a Chance last Sunday? Definately my favorite episode so far. You can read and discuss it on SWAC Fans. Screencaps coming soon.

On Friday, Demi was teasing fans on her twitter..
Anyone want to see the album cover for ‘Here We Go Again’….? See I would tease you guys for a little while to build the suspension….. but I gotta work in a few hours. Hahaha…. reeeeady?
Okay… maybe not that much of a tease, but it made for a good story setup.
Anyway, Demi’s new album “Here We Go Again” Comes out July 21st!

Speaking of Demi’s twitter, here’s one more series of tweets she posted on saturday:
I’m not fat, and I’m not skinny… I’m normal!
We all have fat, and we all have skin, but that doesn’t mean we need to stereotype anyone. I wanna try something…
The next time you want to label someone “fat” or “thin”.. Just say whoever it is, is beautifully made.
But seriously, one day I want to see that phrase take over the slander on gossip sites. It’s a powerful statement.
But this isn’t just for me, it’s for you girls too. Just saying it once to yourself every morning, “I am beautifully made” can change to …
Crap. All this pink is wearing off on me now. I sound like such a girl. Hahaha
I think she started off pissed, and got over it by the time she finished. Just one more reason to love her
And here’s a shot from her Popstar photo shoot (also cutesy of Twitter):
