Hilary Duff Beach Bikini

Posted on: Monday, June 29th, 2009 in: Bikinis (or Less!), Hilary Duff

She’s arguably not a Disney girl anymore, but Hilary Duff was my first real celeb crush and I thought these new bikini pics from Hawaii would be appropriate to put here. We’re no just about Ashley and Selena here. :)

We’ve seen her in a bikini before, but never quite like this.

Article: ‘Fantasmic!’ Returns to Disneyland This Summer

Posted on: Sunday, June 28th, 2009 in: Disneyland

What follows is a press release from the Disneyland resort about their new “Summer Nightastic” promotion.

I haven’t seen the revamped electrical parade yet, but I did see the new Fantasmic. Th HD video projection didn’t look any better to me. The new croc was cool, but kinda silly at the same time. The Eels where a nice touch. And I’m still waiting to see the new dragon.

More powerful projection technology and some awe-inspiring new creatures – including 37-foot-long eels Flotsam and Jetsam – make “Fantasmic!” an exciting part of Summer Nightastic! at Disneyland. The long-running nighttime special-effects spectacular, presented on the Rivers of America in New Orleans Square and Frontierland, jumps off the screen like never before with stunning video and lighting effects that bring brilliant life to Mickey Mouse’s encounters with classic characters and menacing Disney villains.

WHAT: The show combines animation on giant mist screens with lifelike Disney characters and performers. New to the show are Flotsam and Jetsam, the eel pets of Ursula the Sea Witch from “The Little Mermaid.” Another surprise in the cast of creatures is Captain Hook’s crocodile nemesis, now 12 feet tall, 21 feet long and – thanks to new “high-tech” animation – more lifelike than ever with snapping jaws that threaten Peter Pan’s hapless rival. Making its debut later this summer will be a fully animated, three-dimensional dragon who breathes fire across the Rivers of America. The 40-foot-tall dragon will dazzle guests like never before as the creature steps out of the shadows that concealed it in past “Fantasmic!” performances.

WHEN: Nightly, beginning Friday, June 12, and continuing through Aug. 23, with weekend shows through Sept. 7, at Disneyland. For details, visit www.disneyland.com/summer.

BIGGER, SHARPER IMAGES: All-new digital projectors have replaced the 70mm film projectors, revitalizing the images from classic Disney animated films that appear in “Fantasmic!” The result is a larger image with improved clarity and more vivid colors than even before.

FUN FACTS

* Flotsam and Jetsam, Ursula’s eels from “The Little Mermaid,” are each eight feet tall and 37 feet long.
* Central to the magic of “Fantasmic!” are the three mist screens, each 50 feet wide by 35 feet tall, upon which the films are projected.
* Approximately 9,000 guests can view “Fantasmic!” at each performance. The audience is approximately 70 feet from the main stage on Tom Sawyer Island.
* Each night, more than 100 cast and crew members bring “Fantasmic!” to life, in the 23-minute show.
* Additional water effects include 21 fountains and six “whale tails” in the scene when Monstro the whale charges across the Rivers of America.
* At the beginning of the show, two light towers appear on either side of the main stage. During the day, these towers rest 26 feet underground. They rise to a height of 40 feet in less than a minute.
* The audio surrounding the “Fantasmic!” spectators is created by four speakers on Tom Sawyer Island and three on the mainland. Kaa, the conniving snake from “The Jungle Book” who slithers across the “Fantasmic!” stage, is 100 feet long.
* The “crew” of Captain Hook’s ship (the Sailing Ship Columbia by day) is composed of professional stunt performers who execute all the spectacular duels and falls.
* As part of the “Fantasmic!” story, the wicked Maleficent from “Sleeping Beauty” will rise to a height of 35 feet in 17 seconds, before transforming into a new dragon.
* The new dragon is a fully animated three-dimensional design that replicates the movements of the dragon in “Sleeping Beauty.” The dragon is 40 feet tall by 28 feet wide and weighs approximately 10,000 pounds.
* The dragon lights the Rivers of America on fire for 25 seconds.

HISTORY

* “Fantasmic!” officially opened to the public on May 15, 1992, at Disneyland.
* The main stage on Tom Sawyer Island, including underground housing for many special effects, was specially built for “Fantasmic!” By day, it is a boat dock and “cider mill” visited by guests on the island.
* In 1992, the original estimate for the prospective audience size was 6,500. It became clear on opening night that the audience for each performance would be much larger. Spectators found every space they could cram into, and the average number of guests per performance was 11,000 that first summer.
* Within days, the area was re-landscaped to accommodate more guests in the viewing areas. “Fantasmic!” was scheduled for three shows per night that year, and extended to four shows on July 4 and New Year’s Eve. Before summer 1993 arrived, the walkways and planters in New Orleans Square had been redesigned in the “terrace” style from which today’s guests view the show.
* One special feature of “Fantasmic!” is the way it uses existing Disneyland attractions – Tom Sawyer Island, the Mark Twain Riverboat, the Sailing Ship Columbia – as elements of the show. It is unique in that regard.
* A different version of “Fantasmic!” premiered in October 1998 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (then Disney-MGM Studios) at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. A 6,900-seat amphitheater was specially built for the show off Sunset Boulevard in the park.

Ashley Tisdale Concert in LA – Videos (Part 2)

Posted on: Sunday, June 28th, 2009 in: Ashley Tisdale, Webmaster Greg

Yesterday i posted photos from Ashley’s soundcheck, but I was also working on getting these videos up on YouTube. My camera takes ridiculously high quality videos (20MB per minute) which makes the YouTube uploads take forever – especially with seven videos!

Ashley Tisdale Concert Videos

Ashley preformed a total of six songs, two separate times. I’ve uploaded two songs from the soundcheck, and five from the actual concert.

There is one song missing, titled “Hair.” It is my least favorite song off the new album, so I took still photos instead of recording it.

And speaking of still photos, I’ll be uploading a set of stills from the actual concert in the next day or so. :)

Ashley Tisdale Concert in LA – Intro & Soundcheck (Part 1)

Posted on: Saturday, June 27th, 2009 in: Ashley Tisdale, Webmaster Greg

As I mentoned yesterday, I went to see Ashley Tisdale preform today at the grove in downtown LA.

Ashley Tisdale Soundcheck at the Grove in Los Angeles

It was a free concert, and I know how much people like free stuff, so I got there early – just a few minutes before 10AM. Little did I realize when the day started how awesome it would be!

Ashley Tisdale Soundcheck at the Grove in Los Angeles

I had gotten there just in time, because Ashley showed up for her Sound Check at 10:15AM!

She ran through her entire set of six songs complete with choreography. Now, they didn’t let us into the lawn viewing area to watch, but there where only 30-40 fans there already so we where all able to get a great view from the sidelines.

And as you can see, I got some really great pictures. I even got within a couple feet of her after her check was over as security whisked her away.

Over the next few days (just like I did with Demi), I’ll post videos and more photos from the event.

EDIT: Videos have been posted. :)

My thoughts on Princess Protection Program

Posted on: Friday, June 26th, 2009 in: Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez

Okay, I was reasonable impressed. Which, for a DCOM, is really saying something. I had some rather high expectations for Demi and Selena, and I think they delivered. Selena’s character felt a little too much like Alex Rueso at times. Demi’s character seemed a little undefined until like 2/3 of the way through the movie, but that almost seemed to be by design.

The mean girls really ticked me off. Which I guess means they did their jobs. Demi certainly doesn’t seem to mind being covered with food (or fake worms). And It’s still funny.

I had some issues with the premiere, but they did a decent job with he script. There where plenty of funny moments, and the end did not go down at all I had predicted.

The General had some real potential as a villain, but I think they blew it for the most part. I was more afraid of the Asian girl.

Overall, I think I’d give it a B. Maybe even a B+ just because of how cute Selena and Demi are together.

And if any one’s gonna count the number of times they said princess, please post it. Thanks.

My thoughts on Princess Protection Program

My minute my minute commentary follows:

0:01 They put Demi’s name on top, and Selena’s name first. Clever way to put them both equal in the opening credits

0:03 I miss Selena’s old hair. Also, that guy’s a jerk.

0:04 LOL @ “Such princesses”

0:05 Rolling enough Rs there? LOL Also, wee Princess Demi. I mean Rosalina. :)

0:06 Costa Luna? General Cane? Major Mason? Who came up with these names?

0:08 Wow.. what terrible security for a castle.

0:09 So… why can’t the mom be the queen? And why didn’t she go too?

0:11 She’s still in the dress, in the jungle.

0:12 Exactly how many princesses need protection? And how are they funded?

0:13 Oh, 29 princesses and wealthy families. Questions answered

0:16 Now she’s Ruby Gonzales in Louisiana. Is the US state department on board with this?

0:18 “You don’t seem sure” “Yes I am Rosie”

0:20 “Yeah, no dad that’s not gonna happen” We where all thinking it!22 Playing cards with your teenage daughter? Great role model there. :)

0:23 “Gracias” “Okay, whatever”

- 1st Commercial -

(Princess and the Frog Promo – More on Sunday at 7)

0:29 Rosie looks petrified of breakfast. LOL

0:31 “Queen of Homecoming?”

0:32 “What? She’s hot”

0:35 Rosie’s language skills seem to be quite helpful.

0:36 Carter? Rescue her already!

0:38 I sense a plot point coming up. She’s really making a proclamation? Wow.

0:40 Inventory isn’t so bad. of course, I’ve never done it with worms though.

0:41 OMG I love Carter’s Flaming shirt. Selena’s looking goooood.

0:42 Covered in worms? “A little funny. :)

0:43 What’s with the plant hats?

0:44 Carter seems threatened.

0:46 Wow, guilt trip on Carter.

0:49 Carter, don’t leave her alone. I’m starting to think the mean girls are more dangerous than the general.

0:50 You have to show her how to do it or she’ll end up- getting a strike. Okay, never mind.

- 2nd Commercial -

(WOWP Movie Promo – Wow, looks good!)

0:58 Carter, you’re doing it again. Quit being like Alex.

0:59 “He’s the king, of frozen yogurt”

1:01 If you can’t turn it off, just let it run and overflow, Rosie.

1:02 Now that’s playing dirty.

1:04 Ed knows too much! We have to kill him!

1:05 I see what they’re doing. Make carter the third princess to take Rosie out of the running.

1:07 Okay, they’ve reached the friends stage. Just in time for them to get ripped apart.

1:08 Can’t wait for the bad guy to get his. Too bad it’s a disney film, ’cause there’s no way he dies.

1:09 They voted for Carter and Rosie! LOL. But now they’re gonna compete and stuff. Oh, and the guy likes Rosie. That’s terrible. And predictable.

1:11 And now it’s time for carter to learn from Rosie. Right on schedule.

1:12 Why didn’t Carter just try the obvious dress on first? Like Rosie did. :)

1:15 Uh oh. And I thought it was gonna be Rosie that blabbed. Well, can’t win ‘em all.

1:16 Well, the dad clearly hasn’t been watching the movie.

1:17 “What? I’m pretty not smart”

1:18 Mason! Quick kill them! Before they can screw anything up. And don’t go inviting them in.

1:19 We’ll get carter a new dress, no worries.

1:21 And now Rosie knows about her mom, and is falling right into the trap.

- 3rd Commercial -

(Mini Music video for “One and the Same”)

1:28 Carter’s got a plan to take down the mean girls. Too bad it’s not gonna kill that general guy.

1:29 Oh, I see what she’s doing. Get the bad guy on her own turf. Smart.

1:30 Okay, I know the state department would have an issue with a foreign military dictator flying into Louisiana.

1:31 And the girls have their new dresses. Perfect for fighting in. LOL

1:32 Masks. They’re gonna grab Carter thinking that she’s Rosie.

1:33 Carter, you go girl.

1:34 Mean girls lackey turns on her at the worst possible moment. A classic.

1:36 Wow… she’s quite an air head.

1:37 Carter wins. My prediction. Okay, never mind.

1:38 Okay, seriously, no one noticed the helicopter and guards?

1:39 Mean girl’s go going in the pool. And Carter, you gotta fill Rosie in on the plan.

1:40 Oh thank goodness. The adults weren’t sleeping on the job.

1:41 Carter wore a mask and walked they guy into a trap. Not that big a deal really.

1:42 “Get it? I’m bait girl”

1:43 Looks kike Rosie’s dress survived.

1:44 A ha! end credits credit Demi first then Selena. which makes sense, as she is the title chracter. Okay then.

Have a mentioned that I like Ashley Tisdale?

Princess Protection Program Premiere

Posted on: Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009 in: Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez

First, just a reminder that Princess Protection Program airs this Friday (June 26th) at 8pm on Disney Channel.

Demi posted this picture on her twitter of her and Selena before the Princess Protection Program Premiere in Toronto, Canada.

Princess Protection Program Premiere

I guess they couldn’t step back a little further from the mirror so they wouldn’t hve to take it all sideways. LOL

Anyway, here’s another of Demi and Selena on the red carpet.

Princess Protection Program Premiere

Now, as frequent readers know, I absolutely adore Selena, but something about her dress just seems “off” to me. I dunno, maybe I’m just looking a little too close, but I think she could have done better.

Demi, on the other hand, looks amazing.

:)

Finally, I wanted to post this article about Selena’s plan to crash a prom.

Source: United Press International

Teenage Disney stars Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato crashed a prom in Toronto for students of the Etobicoke Collegiate Institute, a witness says.

An unidentified witness said Gomez, star of the Disney Channel series “Wizards of Waverly Place,” and Lovato, who appeared in the Disney movie “Camp Rock,” appeared to be having fun at the school dance, People.com reported Saturday.

“They were all dancing in a group and having fun,” the witness said of Thursday night’s event. “Selena was thrilled to see firsthand what a real prom is like and that her dress was much like the other girl’s dresses.”

Gomez, 16, arrived at the prom after leaving a dinner at the nearby Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex. The Disney actress then returned to the dinner to get Lovato, 16, and four other teenage friends, People.com reported.

The Web site said while the Disney stars and their friends were eventually asked to leave the school celebration, Gomez offered her fans an ecstatic Twitter message at the end of the night.

“PPP peeps and I crashed a prom tonight and danced with a high school!! Amazing!! I finally had prom!” Gomez said in her message.

I just want to know what the school officials where talking about.

“We’ve been invaded by American Celebrates!”
“Should we make them leave?”
“Can I get my daughter an autograph first?”

LOL :)
